  1. Are you serious? We suffered through post after post after post of that inane BS "he sucked anyways" jargon.
  2. I have seen the literal quote "Ralph needs to hurry up and die." Don't try to act like it doesn't happen because it does, enough of us have seen it and verified it that you don't need to doubt it is true.
  3. Well that sounds like a wonderful theory if you are a piano prodigy. The simple truth of it is we have no where near the blocking required to consistently make legitimate throws down field. Regardless to whether or not Trent can get it done, the fact is that NOBODY could do what you expect Trent to do behind this line. Period.
  4. I seem to remember a TD throw to TO earlier this season with less than half a step, so there goes that theory. I love how you people just make up new ways to ridicule TE with utter disregard to reality. It is easy to be a ballsy QB when you have time to throw. Also, when you have good protection, teams must blitz linebackers to generate pass rush, which is how you open up the middle of the field. When any team in the league can rush 4 defenders and consistently flush the pocket, I'm really not sure why anyone would be surprised that we can't complete passes over the middle. Just an ounce of genuine understanding of the game should allow you to realize that. I mean think about the logic of this. If only 4 defenders are rushing, that leaves 7 defenders to cover at most 5 receivers. And you are surprised that there aren't openings down field and over the middle? Comon the concept is not that difficult, even for the likes of Bills fans.
  5. Your posting alias is very apropos.
  6. Maybe he should start making his reads in reverse
  7. There isn't any QB in college that I am overly impressed with or would want to waste a first round draft pick on. Sam Bradford and Tim Tebow won't be franchise QBs, so you can forget about that. Colt McCoy too. I thought Jevon Snead looked fairly decent down at Ole Miss but he has had a miserable season thus far and so I can't even say I'd care to draft him at this point. I just don't see anything in the NCAA at this point that I feel would be a better option than Trent Edwards. We would be so much better off to continue focusing on building a competitive line on both sides of the ball with our top draft picks over the next few years, but that is just my opinion.
  8. Only 1. Bruce Smith. There were better QBs in the NFL during Kelly's entire career. Jerry rice was the "one" from that generation. You may argue that Cornelius Bennett was a once in a generation type of linebacker, but then again there was that Lawrence guy that basically busted that theory. Thurman was a great back, but he benefited from playing on a team laden with offensive weaponry. Thurman would not have been nearly as successful if he was the primary workhorse on a run it down your throat and play killer defense type of team. The 90s Bills had an amazing roster from top to bottom and on all sides of the ball. But it was the team that was good, not its overabundance of once in a generation players.
  9. Lee is a good #2 option, but that is all he is and all he will ever be.
  10. LOL. Good bye credibility.
  11. I don't have any trouble realizing the coverage just based on the defensive alignment and the first few steps they take on TV. Doing it from behind the LOS with 300lb mean SOBs flying at your face is a different story. Let me just also point out that three things must happen for the ball to be thrown effectively downfield: 1. The receiver must get behind the coverage. When the WR is double teamed or the defense is playing a soft zone, this is nearly impossible, and thus the correct read is to throw the ball where the coverage has vacated, an action that is referred to with much reverence on this board as "checking down". 2. The QB must recognize the coverage AND have a receiver who can exploit that coverage. Lee Evans can not do this effectively because he lacks the size to be effective over the middle and in jump ball situations. TO can do this extremely well but we all know how he is prone to drop balls. 3. The QB must have time to plant and throw. This is by far the most important and has been by far the biggest problem. If you cannot block a 4 man rush you simply cannot expect to be effective throwing the ball. It is a fundamental rule that is the basis for so many defensive schemes in the NFL. If teams are rushing 5 or more defenders then it is unrealistic to expect the O-line to be able to consistently pick up the rush and therefore you must exploit blitzes with screens and short quick passes to the areas that are vacated by the blitzing defender(s). Last year we had problems with #1 and #3. This year we still have problems with #1 and #3. And as long as #1 and #3 are continuous problems, it is hard to say whether or not #2 is occurring with enough accuracy to be effective.
  12. What? LOL. Professional football teams can't change the playbook in mid-season? Just lol.
  13. Alphadawg football is not your sport. You shouldn't even bother watching it. I think you should take up cooking.
  14. Except for his first game back against the Chargers where he absolutely torched them with fearless and devastating down field throws. It is beyond absurd to me that after Trent has continually proved time and again that he has all the physical and mental tools to be a great and effective QB that can lead a team to victories that people still want to call for his head after one bad performance. Look the first two games of the season our O line played unbelievably well and Trent looked like the TRUTH. Then all of a sudden a team manages to exploit us there (where we already knew was our biggest weakness heading into the season) and all of you homers want to blame Trent?? Makes no sense whatsoever. Trent is a good QB. Don't expect him to be benched, or replaced via trade, free agency or the draft. It IS NOT going to happen. They are going to let this entire team continue developing because there is a lot of potential here and Trent is an integral part of it. No QB in the history of football has great games every week, and when under the kind of pressure that Trent faced this past week, even the greatest QBs of all time look timid and pedestrian. So why don't you stop with all these brainless and inane arguments. I am thoroughly convinced that the number 1 problem with the Bills organization is its unbelievably ignorant fan base.
  15. The obvious problem with the Buffalo Bills is that their fans are utterly talentless and incapable of cheering a mediocre team into the playoffs. I mean WTF - you take any other fans in the league and put them in the Ralph and the Bills would be a SB contender! It is the fans responsibility to get the players psyched up during a game, therefore all Buffalo Bills fans should be canned before the bye, and new ones should be brought in. Even retired former SB championship fans should be considered. It is the fans responsibility to cheer Leodis into not fumbling away the game. It is the fans responsibility to win with a team that shouldn't win. So for anyone who thinks DJ is to blame for the Bills mediocrity, I say right back at you and with every ounce of legitimacy that your opinion holds. You say DJ should have went for it on 4th and 1. I say the offense should have converted on third down. You say DJ should coach to win rather than not to lose. I say you are dumb because that is the same thing. You say DJ should involve the WRs more in the offense. I say the WRs should beat their effing coverage once in a while and/or catch the damn ball when it is thrown to them. You say DJ is an idiot. I say he's getting paid more for his idiot knowledge than you are. Have a nice day.
  16. Trent certainly does not need to impress you. Your opinion is meaningless and has no bearing on the Bills success or failure in any way. In fact I'm quite certain that the only person who gives half a crap about your opinion is you. But thanks for that thoughtful and insightful analysis.
  17. You know getting the ball down field requires time to set your feet and throw. It amazes me how some people fail to see the simple correlation between bad line play and bad offensive performance. When we had good blocking, Trent was making good throws and we won or should have won. As soon as the blocking plays at a level more like what we expected, the offense stalls. Coincidence? I think not. It is easy to sit there and point the finger, but let me remind you that you are not the one facing 300+ lb lineman trying to wreck your face. I actually kind of wish you were. In short, let me just say that what you think is utterly irrelevant anyway. So is what I think for that matter. And could we please stop with the "play to win" BS jargon? Winning and not losing are the same !@#$ing thing, so that rhetoric is meaningless and insanely stupid.
  18. Any time a DB is covering a TE it is a mismatch. LB typically are assigned this duty because covering TEs is about size and not so much speed. That's actually why teams use a TE instead of all WRs as far as a pass receiving weapon - because they want to create that size based mismatch against the zone.
  19. In NY many people don't care about high school football. This is why you see such a small percentage of collegiate football players coming from that state. The town I live in just built a $5 million dollar field house for the local HS team. If you compare that to the per capita income in this region, you would understand that is a staggering amount of community resources invested into the football program. News flash: not everyone thinks like you.
  20. Suits me just fine. I love watching ESPN analysts make themselves look unenlightened.
  21. Does anyone really believe that fudging the injury report gives them any advantage? I suspect it is a practical joke at the expense of people who are willing to think twice about it.
  22. For the record, pass defense is not a position. I suggest you start there in your quest for remedial understanding.
  23. He's being paid to talk about football and you aren't. So I guess you blow more.
