  1. If we don't get some serious front office changes and a legitimate head coach, I don't think there'll be an issue this season. I think we've been snowed enough already not to be fooled by superficial changes.
  2. Even good coaches have 8-8 seasons. He may be miscalculating the opening.
  3. This just in from Tim Graham at ESPN. http://tinyurl.com/yj3jp8b
  4. I would like to see the Bills interview.
  5. "Often wrong" Schecter is not always wrong, and in this case, I fear he may be right. Cowher may be beyond our reach. What's really disappointing is that there hasn't been any perceived action toward Billick or Marty Schottenheimer. For those of you not well informed of which coaches are presently available, both Billick and Marty's teams have been eliminated from the playoffs. So what's the holdup? If Cowher is indeed out of play, it's time for Nix to tell Modrak and Guy to leave (we'll send their belongings to the mother ship someplace where they came from) and go find somewhere else to get a paycheck for nothing in return. Nix has a unique opportunity to change the tone and face of the organization by sheer force of will, and I believe he can do it. Getting the right coach in to turn the heat up on these lightweights who can't hit or tackle (are you listening Aaron Maybin?) and bring in more guys like Wood who eat nails for breakfast. Nix needs to create the next vision for the Buffalo Bills and sell it like the gospel truth to every candidate he meets. Stop selling this franchise as a booby prize for coaches who couldn't find work and can't bear to be on meaningless and poorly produced preview shows anymore. Congratulation for joining the Bills as head coach. We look forward to seeing the results you produce so we can move on to the next miserable hire. I feel sorry for Frazier. He's obviously a fine minority DC who would be a good fit for us if it weren't for the fact that coordinators and assistants have burned this franchise to the ground over the last decade. In the meantime, he's the Rooney Rule stick of the month. He deserves better than that for the results he's provided. I'm sure he'd do a fine job here, alas, season tickets would be a hard sell. The long punished fan base here is ready for an experienced head coach with a resume that, preferably, would have Super Bowl experience, or if necessary, an assistant with the perception of being more than a prayer to succeed, like Garrett. This is a perception hire. If the perception is more of the same bs, you may as well saw the upper deck of Ralph Wilson Stadium off. The sports media continues to portray us in the same category with the Raiders. There's only one real way to break that stereotype and that's to bring in top flight coaching and player talent and build a team of front office support people with an IQ over 15. I hear Modrak broke 20 once at Pittsburgh when he was there. The Bills' front office of Wilson, Brandon, Modrak, Guy, and Jauron must have been on drugs the entire time they've been here. Based on their performance, they must have been on formaldehyde or some other enbalming fluid.
  6. That narrows it down to the three of us. Rock, paper, scissors?
  7. What, is Ralph Wilson refusing to give control of the vending machine key to Bill?
  8. Fine. Get Billick, Schottenheimer, or somebody decent in here.
  9. Belicheck did interview with the Bills. He shook Buddy Nix's hand, said two words without looking at him, and walked away.
  10. RW wanted to promote from within, so Russ Brandon is the new head coach of the Bills. Russ said he could bring in Zig Ziglar as OC and Billy Mays as DC. Russ signed a lifetime-$0.25 contract. There will be a Monday press conference in the OBD crapper.
  11. Billick wants to coach here but Ralph doesn't know him. Cowher may want to coach here but Ralph doesn't know him. Schottenheimer may want to come to be back with Buddy Nix, but Ralph doesn't really know him. Russ Grimm appears to be next on the carousel of interviews. Ralph doesn't know Grimm or Frazier. Ralph didn't know Jauron. Why do I feel like we're going to get someone Ralph doesn't know who's cheap? I'm not buying this "I don't know him" crap anymore.
  12. Frazier sucks. They really need Perry Fewell.
  13. I like Harbaugh, but with the dearth of coaching jobs out there, there are too many better qualified coaches to jump on.
  14. I am bipolar. This is worse, trust me.
  15. Do we have to constantly assume that if you are drafted by Buffalo, you're an idiot? What's wrong with a larger playbook? These prima donnas we've had here cry every time the playbook is longer than six plays.
  16. It's all about the endorsements. A coach can do as much or more in endorsements in a major television market. I can't wait to see Cowher's first ad for City Mattress or Cowher Crunch cereal.
  17. Glazer link: http://msn.foxsports.com/video/NFL?vid=fa7...05-39e12550e9a9
  18. We're going to replace a Harvard QB with a Fordham QB?
  19. Can't see those two big egos working together successfully.
  20. Cowher said to be squarely on the radar in Buffalo. The Bills think they have a legitimate shot at Cowher. For myself, if Cowher says yes, except for Fewell, the interviews are over.
  21. Peter King reports that Bill Cowher's choices are dwindling. The Carolina owner wants Fox to coach out his contract. Tampa appears to be keeping their first year head coach. Not a lot of other teams are expected to drop their coaches. "If Bill Cowher wants to coach next year, he may have to coach in Buffalo."
  22. It's evident from this conversation that no one knows anything about what's going on in OBD. Carucci's not the most reliable, but Mort is usually on and he's been reporting that Cowher has no interest in the Bills - all evidence to the contrary. When there's a press conference at the training facility, Tuesday, February, 2011, whenever, and Bill Cowher, or whomever, steps up to the podium, then we'll know. Carucci sounds like he bought into a snow job to me.
  23. I'm warm on Billick. He has the Super Bowl win, he won't be selecting personnel, and he brings in great coordinators that later become head coaches. I wish he were better offensively, but hopefully the new OC will make the difference. Cowher on Tuesday is wishful thinking, IMO. Would take Shottenheimer over Billick any day. I like the Buddy Nix move. Can't wait for the draft!
