  1. I'm not sure how we became so unrighteous. Ezekiel 25:17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmvnXKRfdb8
  2. Fans are pathetic with perspective about their teams' strengths and weaknesses, ours included. On the face of it, I'm sure Miami looks like an obvious winner Sunday, but I suspect Gailey has some tricks up his sleeve that he's ready to release on the Fins.
  3. Does anyone have ESPN Insider access who can paste the article into the string? I've got to know who thinks the Dolphins secondary tops ours.
  4. Joe Buck needs to get a permanent assignment as the play-by-play radio announcer for the football program at the University of Phoenix. I miss Howard Cosell, John Madden, and Pat Summerall. I feel like we're in the abyss of football announcing.
  5. If the season opener can be a major trap game, then that's what Sunday is for the Dolphins. Miami's nightmare schedule is seriously front loaded with five of their first eight on the road. Sept 12 - at Buffalo Sept 19 - at Minnesota NFC Championship Sept 26 - NY JETS AFC Championship Oct 4 - NEW ENGLAND Won AFC East Oct 17 -at Green Bay NFC Wild Card Oct 24 - PITTSBURGH Roethlisberger off suspension Oct 31 - at Cincinnati Won AFC North Nov 7 - at Baltimore AFC Wild Card, Predicted by Some to Win Super Bowl XLV Miami's seven opponents after the Bills were a combined 70-42 last season. Miami may be an improved team on paper, but they will have to win four of these to contend for the playoffs with a QB that not everyone is convinced is NFL quality. Are the Fins really that good? Could they lose six in the first half of their schedule? Soprano could be a mid-season casualty if they can't break through. It's tough to see how we'll get two playoff teams out of our division this year given the AFC East's scheduling with the AFC and NFC North. Nine wins could easily be enough to win.
  6. You know we're going to see some lazy linebacker this year who blows an assignment or tries to arm tackle Spiller. That will leave him with one move between himself and the end zone. Might even see it twice in a single game. Can't wait to see him plow the road.
  7. Jim Kelly is God.
  8. I, for one, am a Gailey fan. Even if the team goes 0-16, I am confident we are in much better hands than we have been since 1999. He was somewhat naive, IMHO, in not realizing what a disaster our QB situation is. If he turns them around, however, all the credit goes to him. We can't fix this team with one draft and a training camp. This is going to be a process in all likelihood. If any good comes from this season, it is going to be the raw realization of which players on this team need to be replaced. They will make themselves obvious. I am, however, not willing to demonize those who think Gailey is a dud. We all saw the process that the front office went through to find our new head coach, and to say it was a train wreck would be an understatement. Good coaches were out there for the taking and according to Nix, his phone was ringing off the hook. For instance, I'd have preferred to bring Schottenheimer, Holmgren, Cowher, Billick - for starters - to the team. Only one problem, Gailey is the coach and there is no getting around that. In that respect, I hope he's as good as the rest of the league says he is. I can't bear another decade of catastrophic football in this region.
  9. I can't wait for opening day. F*** everybody.
  10. Cheers to you, tgreg! I'll be cheering all season. Hope we win more than a few and prove the "experts" wrong.
  11. Harrel would be a nice project if we didn't already have a project in Brohm. If we are going to pick up a QB, we should get someone who has a chance to play first string like Matt Leinart. Nix and Modrak appear a little slow on the draw. I don't understand what's going on at TE, but Modrak must have a couple of people on the radar now that we're down to only one. Just shows how little regard Gailey and Nix had for the TEs that weren't injured in camp. It would be nice to pick up some depth at OL as well.
  12. Brian Brohm, Ex-Buffalo Bills Backup QB. Thanks for playing.
  13. Triple option wouldn't work in the NFL. Defensive players are too fast to pull a gadget play like that. Furthermore, do you really want Edwards making any more decisions or pitching any footballs? The man can't multi-task.
  14. Kid shoulda known he was living in the video age. Too bad that clip will appear #1 on every Google done by a potential college or employer as long as he lives.
  15. The only way a stadium will be built in Niagara Falls is if it goes up on the Canadian side. Naturally, Niagara County would pay for it.
  16. It is too early to say, but real 3-4 linebackers seem like a real need position much less true defensive ends.
  17. looks like the no-tackle defense
  18. Where on the Internet can I find the HD broadcast? Will that broadcast be live?
  19. The Buffalo metro area would break off into Lake Erie and everyone would die a wonderful, elated death.
  20. Cut him after the pre-season. After all, he has a huge upside as the before picture for a protein body building milkshake ad.
  21. Yes, they will.
  22. Oddly enough, Nix has been part of a history of taking high round QB draft picks, for example, Rivers. It's impossible to predict what the new CBA will look like in terms of rookie caps. One thing is certain: There will be a lockout in 2011. The management offer is prohibitively bad. The players will never agree to getting paid 41% of revenues as opposed to 59% now. Not when they have so much leverage and so much to lose. The union should be ceremonially cremated if they fold on this.
  23. In the super-extreme, double probation risk department... I'll choose Texas to win the national championship. Iowa has an extraordinarily easy schedule with all of their big games at home this year. I'd like to say my alma-mater was going to take it all, but it would be a fantasy. They were awesome at 11-2 last year. It's tough for the smallest Big-Ten (11, 12, whatever) school to put two great years in a row together but this would be the year. Now I sound like Jauron. Jeezus. Every time I predict that Ohio State is going to be bad this year, I end up eating crow. So, they'll do great. Hopefully, that'll jinx 'em in the conference, not that they need the help in the BCS bowl games. My best guess is a Texas/Texas Christian national championship game. Texas is playing the almighty Rice, Wyoming, UCLA, and Florida Atlantic out-of-conference. The most difficult road game in-conference is either Nebraska or Kansas State. They do play Rice on the road, but somehow, I think they'll muddle through. They've got a golden paved road to the title, even without Colt McCoy, in a conference that is on the razor's edge of collapse.
  24. If it is Buffalo, then it is the second bomb dropped in a week that could be related to each other. Could the interested party be from Toronto, Ontario? After Russ Brandon's gaffe(?) earlier in the week about if and when the Bills were to (move) compete with the Toronto Argonauts, it may have been regarding information about a pending partial sale to another party. We'll have to wait and see. There are certainly other targets as well, for instance, Jacksonville. I would hope, and truly expect, that Ralph would turn to local interests first, like the Rich's or Jim Kelly's investment group, before concluding a deal up north.
