  1. I have a feeling alot of people are going to be very disappointed by a lack of player turnover on the defensive side. Hopefully they can bring in one of the few free agent NTs. Pickett perhaps?
  2. Seems wasteful to switch defensive fronts and create more holes for a team that has many already.
  3. From his interviews it sounds like he did more than just scout other teams players. He was in charge of advance scouting for their upcoming opponents as well as college scouting. 2006 Whaley Interview
  4. Well according to the value chart their 2nd and 3rd would garner a late 1st, so probably not.
  5. The rules were stated, close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.
  6. True, but he didn't have to say that, he could have offered the standard answer. Also, please explain what more is involved in being a GM than spotting good players?
  7. I prefer the idea of going with Derrick Morgan, an actual lineman sized DE, and moving Maybin to LB where he can use his size and athleticism rather than drafting McClain and moving Poz outside.
  8. But is he a franchise QB worthy of a 1st (9 overall) and 3rd round pick?
  9. My opinion is that the offense was so bad the defense wore down, both during games and through the season. If you fix the offense, perhaps get an OLB to replace Ellison, and the defense will be better.
  10. It makes sense that whomever the DC is going to be is still coaching, however I don't think his ties to KC matter since Gailey was still at GT during that time period. It seems as though all of the teams he has worked with ran a 4-3 (STL and KC), however I'm not sure if that really matters.
  11. Nice timing as they went on to not make the playoffs for 10 straight years.
  12. Or SF, with two first round picks, could look to capitalize and move up from 17 and give the Bills pick 48. Still perhaps putting them in range for one of the OTs (Campbell, Bulaga).
  13. Agreed, and Russ Brandon is not in charge anymore. As Buddy Nix said at Chan Gailey's press conf, what the team can do to win back fans is win.
  14. I would imagine though it would be difficult for teams to risk a first round pick on someone coming off an ACL tear.
  15. 1. Bryan Bulaga OT 2. Navorro Bowman OLB 3. Jeremy Williams WR 4. Micah Johnson MLB 5. Geno Atkins DT 6. James Starks RB I can't picture using a 2nd round pick on a QB who I cannot be sure is better/has more upside than Brian Brohm.
  16. Even then, I'm not sure Clemens would be an upgrade or have as much upside as Brohm as a backup.
  17. Orton's restricted as well, doubt they're willing to give up 1st and 3rd round picks for a journeyman QB.
  18. I'm intruiged by two receiver prospects who have reportedly had good practices, Jeremy Williams and Andre Roberts, could be ideal pickups in the 3rd round. Eric Norwood is an OLB alot of people have mentioned on here as well.
  19. Denney no, but Youboty and Ellison are still RFAs and I wouldn't be surprised to see them come back, at least for camp, as inexpensive veteran depth. I think Whitner and Lynch come back also, just because they haven't lived up to their draft position does not make them worthless as players. At worse they provide depth.
  20. It's hilarious to me that players are only compared to players of the same race. As though there aren't a dozen average black #3 receivers. I liken Kevin Walter to Ed McAffrey or Brian Finneran.
  21. He's from South Carolina, and from what i've read round 2 might be too high for him.
