  1. Where is this coming from? Is this rumored to happen? Are we going to choose a different player at random everyday to say we don't want the Bills to get them?
  2. I'm not sure about whether or not SF will be looking to move up, and they actually have pick 17 and 49, which is almost a perfect match when it comes to the draft pick chart to Buffalo's pick at 9. NFL Draft Pick Value Chart I go Sam Bradford, if neither of the QBs are there I go Bulaga.
  3. Poor QB play hurt his stats, but from what i've read he has not so great hands, drops alot of passes.
  4. Does anyone know where you can find how teams value future year picks? I thought I read that it was valued as that of a pick a round below. So if you traded a first round pick in next years draft, they would value it as a 2nd round pick in this years draft. Example: Panthers trade their first this year for a 2nd round pick last year to draft Everette Brown. I was looking for some confirmation of this however and could not find anything. If this is the case, it would take this years 1st and 2nd, and next years 1st to move up to pick #2, and that might not even get it done. Then you have to sign him.
  5. It's funny how it would take less time to look up the information for this than it would to make the post. The second overall pick has a value of 2600 pts, the Bills 1st, 2nd, and 3rd total 2065 pts. So yeah, they'd have to give up next years 1st. Therefore it's definately not worth it. 6. Why does everyone need everything to happen immediately? Perhaps they're waiting to see if they can trade him, they could even hang onto him through camp to see if he has value in the 3-4. Also, who cares about his salary it's not like the money is coming out of your pocket.
  7. I agree, you could give up the 2nd for him, and if possible trade down and regain it.
  8. I think that was discussed in the article regarding gimmicky systems.
  9. Wasn't there rumors that the Bills would be implementing a spread this year though?
  10. He ran a fast time before the draft, not that that always means anything.
  11. If the Bills were still running a 4-3 I'd be all over it, but the reason he is available is he is not a good fit for the defensive system they allegedly just changed to.
  12. I'd rather go with Butler/Bell/Meredith than Clifton at RT. Not sure if a 4th round pick is realistic for McNabb, John Clayton speculated a 2nd. Would like to see them sign an NT, but Wilfork is not likely to become a UFA. Josh Reed is a UFA, they can't trade him. They're not getting a 2nd round pick for Lynch - maybe a 4th. I do like the idea of trading down in the draft if possible and still having a chance at an OT. All of the other free agent signings seems unlikely.
  13. Which is the offense the Bills are rumored to be installing for next year.
  14. You'll be really happy to hear that, via twitter, Maybin is staying in tonight and watching movies after his 2nd workout of the day! AaronMaybin58 - Looks like I won't be leavin the crib much today either. Looks like Movie marathon time after 2nd workout
  15. That story was BS and seemed to be based on no facts at all. He makes assumptions about a lack of help for the community, that Ralph would move the team but hasn't had a substantial enough offer all out of thin air with no factual evidence to back any of it up. A simple google search of Ralph Wilson comes up with multiple sites for his charitable donations/foundations. So to claim he is a "blood sucking leach who has done nothing for our community" is ridiculous and uncalled for.
  16. The trouble with the authors statement above is that the bolded teams finished in the final 8, and are therefore very constricted as to the number of free agents they can sign as well as how much they can pay them. Also, Ernie Sims would be awesome and would allow them to keep Mitchell outside or could play the outside himself.
  17. He's an RFA and being a former first round pick would only require a minimum tender to require 1st round compensation. Doubt he's an option.
  18. Both restricted! Nose tackle seems like the one position that has some legitamate starters that are unrestricted. I'd be happy with Pickett, Franklin, or Hampton. It'd also be nice to see them either bring Owens back or replace him with Walter, Bryant or Chambers. This could allow them to concentrate on QB or OT, where free agency is thin, without leaving glaring holes elsewhere. Someone else on here mentioned Levi Jones, I wouldn't be opposed to that, this could hold over LT for a season or two and allow them to go best player available at 9 if both QBs are gone.
  19. Technically he is not, but he is an RFA, so I guess if they wanted to they could trade his rights. But hopefully not for Thigpen.
  20. Q. What is the Final Eight Plan? A. During the Final League Year, the eight clubs that make the Divisional Playoffs in the previous season have additional restrictions that limit their ability to sign unrestricted free agents from other clubs. In general, the four clubs participating in the championship games are limited in the number of free agents that they may sign; the limit is determined by the number of their own free agents signing with other clubs. They cannot sign any UFAs unless one of theirs is signed by another team. For the four clubs that lost in the Divisional Playoffs, in addition to having the ability to sign free agents based on the number of their own free agents signing with other clubs, they may also sign players based on specific financial parameters. Those four only will be permitted to sign one unrestricted free agent for $5.5 million (estimated) or more in year one of the contract, plus the number of their UFAs who sign with another team. They also can sign any unrestricted free agents for less than $3.7 (estimated) million in year one of the contract with limitations on the per year increases. In the case of all final eight teams, the first year salary of UFAs they sign to replace those lost cannot exceed the first year salary of the player lost with limitations on the per year increases. In your example, if the Bills were a final 8 team, Wilfork's first year salary would not be able to exceed Denney's first year salary. nfl.com Link
