As far as depth it is. As for Jean-Gilles, you have to wonder if there is some type of under the table deal made with the Eagles for them to cut him. Perhaps the promise of an extension or raise. I would think he could be signed by another team, but a starting job would likely have to be promised, and he wouldn't get that here.

He was kinda without a position coming out. He was big but not athletic enough to be play TE, his position in college. But was an unknown as an offensive lineman and would take alot of time to find out. He also scored a 9 on his wonderlic, perhaps adding to the notion that he would not be able to handle a position change or an NFL playbook.

San Diego is only allowing him to negotiate with Seattle for whatever reason, you'd also have to sign him to a lucrative long term deal and he is suspended for the first 3 games of the season due to violating the leagues conduct policy (multiple DUI's).

He isn't a free agent and i'm not sure I would put him in the "big name" category.

Sacks are what he was brought in to get, which in itself are a boom or bust stat. On a no doubt passing down if it is the move that he feels most comfortable using than why not go for it?
