  1. While I think fans prefer and perhaps relate more closely with a "nasty" o-line, I'm not sure it really matters a whole lot when it comes to wins and losses. My point is that the Bills need good players. If they're good and nasty all the better, but being good should be the first focus.
  2. No, just not this one. Absolutely not, I'll take Wood over Peters any day. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/119341-jason-peterss-act-wearing-thin-in-philly/
  3. I never understood why kickers can't punt and punters can't kick. I've even seen linebackers fill in for the kicker rather than the punter. You have to figure they had to pull double duty at least through high school if not college.
  4. Has Matthews even played against Edwards to have formed that opinion? Cause the mouth running certainly wasn't through the media.
  5. There is not a large supply of players at Jackson's high level in the NFL. There are many teams that will be after a player of his caliber. Economics tells us that this will drive the price up to more than a guy who will be on the team for 14 games and a "developmental guy." Also, in order for a trade to happen involving Jackson he will have to be willing to sign a new contract with the team he is going to, not something that is likely with Buffalo.
  6. No, it wouldn't, the value isn't even close. Two Pro Bowlers for Evans, a guy on the last year of his contract, and a 5th round OT who plays like a 5th round OT.
  7. He didn't go to the practice squad, the Bills picked him up off waivers from Pittsburgh. My feeling is that he is Hangartner's eventual replacement on the interior line. More likely sliding Wood to center since he has actual game experience at that position from college. From most reports Urbik doesn't have the feet to play outside.
  8. I don't buy it. Speculation at the draft had them asking for a 4th, I doubt they rejected a 3rd and a player.
  9. Could picture him being available: "After Sunday’s Green Bay Packers victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, I incorrectly assumed Packers inside linebacker A.J. Hawk started the game before giving way to Brandon Chillar. Afterwards, assuming he had been on the field and I had missed him, I questioned where Hawk was. He didn’t record a single stat and it turns out, that’s because Hawk didn’t play a single down on defense." http://www.totalpackers.com/2010/09/14/a-j-hawk-is-the-forgotten-man/
  10. The difference in value between a 4th and a 6th round pick is minuscule.
  11. Stockpile? Huh? They traded him and a 6th for a 4th. They gained no picks, just moved up 2 rounds.
  12. Has either Sanchez or Flacco looked any better than Edwards did yesterday?
  13. Which unfortunately was not accurate: "Started 50 games, including 34 at RG and 16 at RT" http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/502442
  14. Weren't they out of timeouts? A sneak would have have taken a ton of time off the clock for what, 2 yards?
  15. Probably on his way home from the bar. Or one of those swanky after parties all the stars go to.
  16. I'm sure that is the case, the trouble in this formation with the two up-backs being lynch and Jackson is they are then lead blockers, which is neither of their specialties. That's why it likely would work better with McIntyre and Stupar.
  17. Jason LaCanfora Tweet: JasonLaCanfora Okay, if I had to pick one team as a winner this week, above all others, I'd say MIA over BUF. Have a bad feeling about the Bills in 2010
  18. ...or even as guard depth, would have more confidence in him than Howard.
  19. Interesting that he picked them to go 2-14 though, so by his measure they will win only 1 more game all year. http://www.nfl.com/kickoff/story/09000d5d81228bfe/article/bills-hope-gailey-can-provide-muchneeded-change
  20. The Dolphins are preparing to open their season Sunday against the Bills under a cloud of uncertainty. Questions have built over the last few days, leading to a few unsettling (team decision makers might call them ``uneducated'') inferences. http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/09/06/1810904/jason-allen-to-start-at-cornerback.html Also: The Miami Dolphins announced Tuesday that General Manager Jeff Ireland will take over "full control" of the franchise's football operations while Bill Parcells takes on a new role as a consultant Story
  21. He was in Miami for the 2000 and 2001 seasons, they went 11-5 both years with Jay Fiedler at QB. They didn't return to the playoffs until 2008. I'm not sure what you're refering to. Also, this from the Bills website: "Gailey’s resume speaks for itself, he has spent nine of his previous 15 NFL seasons as either a head coach or offensive coordinator. During those nine seasons, his teams have made the playoffs seven times and boasted a 1,000-yard rusher on seven different occasions. In total, he has made playoff appearances in 11 of his 15 seasons in NFL coaching. His resume also boasts four Super Bowl berths, including one with Pittsburgh (XXX) and three with Denver (XXI, XXII and XXIV)." http://www.buffalobills.com/team/coaches/chan-gailey/dadb1683-1a19-4811-83c0-b9347f2240ba
