  1. Don't know much about him, but from your description he is a project likely at least 3 years away from having an opportunity to play. The Bills are not in a position to use draft picks on projects. Therefore your scenario would have to have them still using a high pick on a QB to start or continue going forward with Fitz hoping this guy pans out in a few years, which is a waste of resources and time. Teams that have veteran developed QBs and not many holes can use valuable picks on projects a la Troy Smith or Dennis Dixon with Baltimore or Pittsburgh. Not the Bills as they currently are.
  2. Most of what I've read on Carimi is that he had a great year 2 seasons ago but fell off last year and is currently listed as a 2nd round prospect. Obviously alot changes from now until the draft, and positional value moves guys up.
  3. If we know there will be one for 2012, how do we not know there will be one for 2011? Also, have there been a large number of players from the draft he hasn't signed in the past?
  4. But couldn't JW ask the tough questions? Like: 1) Does Bryan Scott wear underwear in his bicycle suit? 2) What songs does he have on his ipod? 3) Is John McCargo so bad at everything he can't beat even a bicyclist in a race with his SUV? not to tell Mr. Wawrow how to be a reporter or anything....
  5. Elected to the Hall more for his contributions to the game of football, which included the beginnings of the AFL, less for his ownership of the Bills.
  6. He redshirted at Stanford, so he practiced etc, but couldn't play because of his redshirt. So really no different than him being a backup on the team.
  7. He's a redshirt sophomore, so he's only played 2 years but been out of school for 3. NFL rules state you need to be 3 years removed from high school to declare for the NFL.
  8. Why would someone criticize you for that? From the article, I think it's likely Wrotto will enter the mix at RT if Howard flounders.
  9. Doubt Green Bay would move him now with Barnett out for the year and Chillar hurt as well. Would make more sense for Poz to go the other way. Wouldn't be surprised to see Stroud on the move though. Seemed fishy that they kept McCargo over Ellis.
  10. I think he is injury prone and while on the field hasn't shown to be an impact player. He's a nice player, but not a "cornerstone" player.
  11. I think Poz's contract is up at the end of the season and is on his way out.
  12. The players who are drafted in the 2011 draft cannot sign until there is a new CBA, if the CBA has a rookie cap as many suggest, Luck or any other player considering declaring would be signed under the rookie cap. This is why it is ridiculous to assert that the Bills wouldn't draft a QB high in next seasons draft if the opportunity presents itself solely based on money. Odds are the money will be determined for them. I'm guessing, but I would assume the clock to sign the players would start when the new CBA is signed. If this were a reality they would almost certainly work some sort of rule into the CBA for the 2011 drafted players to avoid the problem you speak of. Fans Guide to NFL Labor Battle - Link
  13. I've tried and i'm struggling. Help me out? Closest I can find is Cousineau, but he left for the CFL. Upon coming back to the NFL the Bills matched the offer he was given by Houston and thus the Bills signed him. His rights were then traded for a first rounder that was used to select Jim Kelly. Which, if this is what you were referring to, was 31 years ago. He's got a pretty good streak going.
  14. Not good, I think that was the point of the post you were replying to. I like their draft approach, drafting the best player available. Sure alot of different moves could have been made that may have given the team 5 or 6 wins or sold more tickets (draft a QB), but what good is that? Many complain that all the team does is try to sell tickets, well isn't what they're doing now the complete opposite? Break the whole thing down, get the best players you can with your draft picks, and build for the long term. Fill in your holes with free agents. In 2 more offseasons, which may be complete before 1 more season is played, they can realistically have the whole roster turned over.
  15. Also missing is that the Bills received two other picks for Peters. While low round selections, it's conveniently missing from their analysis.
  16. QB is one of many problems, but Brady Quinn isn't the answer.
  17. at best a 7th round pick. Plus Cutler will be healthy next week, and they won yesterday with Collins.
  18. New CBA=Rookie Wage Scale, also has he ever failed to sign his 1st round draft pick?
  19. Agreed, they'd probably do it in a serpentine fashion as well. So 1st pick would pick last in the 2nd round etc.
  20. Blackout area includes Syracuse and it's surrounding area, I believe it's considered a secondary market. Stupid thing is because it's a secondary market it falls under the blackout rules, but we don't get the perks of a primary market such as NFL Network games being broadcast on local networks etc.
  21. The wishes of the deceased, legally binded by his will or not.
  22. Fans Guide to NFL Labor Battle - Link "If theres a lockout, will there still be a draft next spring? Yes, but it wont be business as usual for the teams or for the players they select. With no CBA in place, teams wont be able to sign players, and those post-draft minicamps will be non-existent. Also, in the absence of a CBA, the leagues ability to generate revenues from the new crop of big-name draftees will be limited. In other words, if you want to purchase one of those sweet new Jake Locker jerseys in the aftermath of his being drafted, youll have to buy one without his name on the back of it or wait until a new CBA is signed." I would guess that the possibility of no football in 2011 could deter underclassmen from declaring, especially since they won't be signing contracts until the work stoppage is over.
