  1. Only on a one-yr deal, under those circumstances i'm not sure he fits.
  2. I dont think you can live in fear of that. Couldn't the offensive lineman you speak of pull the same thing? What is the alternative, pass on the pick and don't draft anyone?
  3. I think the point is that they're playing their best players and they're not good enough. They're not going to be able to add new players until the offseason. Your principle would apply if they came back next season with the same players and expected new results.
  4. A delayed handoff puts you at risk of losing yards, something they couldn't afford since where they were on the field was giving them a 57 yard FG. I loved the pass call on 1st down to Spiller. I think they should have run the ball on 2nd down, but not in the manner you claim, and on 3rd down, without gaining any yards on 1st and 2nd, they had no choice but to pass.
  5. Lee Evans contract info: 10/2/2008: Signed a four-year, $37.25 million contract extension through 2012. The deal includes $18.25 million guaranteed and a first-year salary of $11,730,770. Another $3 million is available through incentives. 2010: $5.4 million (+ $3 million roster bonus), 2011-2012: $3.025 million (+ $1 million roster bonuses), 2013: Free Agent He's a bargain at $3.025 Million in 2011 and 2012.
  6. My guess is that Cushing was Modrak's best player available. The previous management group drafted for need, which going into the draft most agreed was a pass rushing DE for their tampa 2 defense. Orakpo was likely off of their draft board due to the character concerns that caused him to drop in the draft (probably off many teams boards). Therefore leaving Maybin as the next highest ranked pass rushing DE in the draft.
  7. What are these statement? If he's graded as a 3rd or 4th round prospect they're not going to take him in the 1st round.
  8. Whoa, let's not go crazy. He has ample arm strength, enough to get by on, let's not make him out to be Elway.
  9. I happen to agree with his sentiment, Edwards is adjusting scheme to the talent or lack thereof on the defensive side of the ball. Seems as though the switch to the 4-3 is an abandonment of the pass rush, because the current players have no hope of producing one. He can't magically make the players better. The key pass rushing position in a 3-4 is the OLBs of which he has Chris Kelsay and Reggie Torbor, two well below average players.
  10. I love this, didn't realize Vince Lombardi was a member on this board.
  11. Wade for sure, they want to run a 3-4 and that's his bread & butter.
  12. He's gauranteed $15 of the $17.6 million from his contract. You're going to pay it no matter, there is no stop loss.
  13. Yeah, but then again he didn't win, and also threw 2 ints.
  14. Where was offensive pass interference on Boldin on the Corner int?
  15. They'd be on the hook for the guaranteed portion, which according to rotoworld: 8/21/2009: Signed a five-year, $17.6 million contract. The deal includes $15 million guaranteed. Another $7.4 million is available through incentives based on playing time and sacks. 2010: $395,000, 2011: $757,500, 2012: $1.12 million, 2013: $1.4825 million, 2014: $1.5 million, 2015: Free Agent http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_contract.aspx?sport=NFL&id=5177 I agree, this was a move because he is not good enough to get on the field and contribute. Even on special teams.
  16. According to this site there is Marcell Darious and Robert Quinn also at the top of the draft board.http://www.walterfootball.com/draft2011.php
  17. He's now been discarded by 3 different teams, two 3-4 and one 4-3. It seems it's been determined that he cannot play in the NFL.
  18. Why would they trade for Vick if they could have him for no picks in the offseason? Or trade a pick for him and lose him in the offseason?
  19. Not really watching football, it's not fun without a rooting interest.
  20. Not exactly "asleep at the switch" as you stated.
  21. The only trades they'd be making would involve starters getting shipped out for draft picks.
