  1. If you're asking is Vincent Jackson better than Lee Evans the answer is yes. However trading one for the other is not realistic and signing him is probably not realistic either.
  2. They drafted a CB in the first round last year.
  3. Gary Brackett signed a 5 year deal worth $33 Million last offseason with the Colts. Poz has out-tackled him each of the last 3 seasons and is 4 years younger, so that's probably a starting point.
  4. Without good corners what's the point of drafting a defensive lineman? You give any QB open receivers and he will find them before the rush can get there. The point being that good teams have good players everywhere, it doesn't matter what order they are obtained.
  5. That is not even close to plenty. Lee Evans is just about worthless in a trade due to the number of impending free agent WRs this offseason, and next years 3rd would carry the weight of a 4th this year. According to chart they'd have to give up 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft06/news/story?id=2410670
  6. Florence & George Wilson are both UFAs. So without resigning Poz or Whitner they'll have to use offseason resources, based on track record likely draft choices, to replace them.

  8. Perhaps it's not wise to give a player who is hurt every season a contract extension that is made up of mostly guaranteed money. For Poz it would require a larger portion of signing bonus money as his rookie contract is considerably less than Willis' due to draft position. Didn't think he was on the team anymore.
  9. I agree, the message is the same as it was when they claimed him off waivers: that the Bills want to win and improve the team. Remember the comments from veteran players when the claim was made: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5760807
  10. What's the problem? That's really not all that much and he only gets paid really well if he reaches the incentives, which would mean he's earned it. I disagree, they don't play the same position. Perhaps assures Kelsay will see less time at OLB if they go 3-4. They didn't just extend the guy 5 years in week 4 to cut him in the offseason.
  11. The Houston Texans this season. 2008 New Orleans Saints, who finished 8-8 despite Drew Brees nearly breaking Marino's single season passing yard record. Prompting them to spend big money in the offseason on Darren Sharper and Jabari Greer and winning the Super Bowl the following season.
  12. I don't agree with the assessment that CB or WR aren't needs. McGee is on the wrong side of 30, McKelvin has been a flop, and Florence is a UFA at the end of the season. Also, haven't there been numerous threads regarding the Bills lack of a true #1 WR and how Lee Evans is not that. Patrick Peterson or AJ Green fill both of those needs. Also, it was two different GMs selecting Mike Williams and Aaron Maybin so I doubt their failures will have any impact on the pick Buddy Nix makes.
  13. TE - Matt Spaeth OT - Willie Colon or Marshal Yanda WR - James Jones OLB - Mathias Kiwanuka ILB - Brandon Siler
  14. Are the stats referenced for Scott from 2009? He played OLB a large portion of the games he was active for.
  15. That's a pretty big "neither here nor there" don't you think?
  16. What reason would the Bills coaching staff have for starting and playing the worse player all season? And the season before that? And the season before that? And the season before that?
  17. Not that I disagree with where they should go with their pick, but there is no guarantee that any 1st round pick of any position will make any difference, whatsoever.
  18. Those stats don't really say anything about the strengths or weaknesses of Whitner or any of the players on the list. Some are better than him, some are worse. However Berry, Polamalu, Wilson and Laron Landry all make more than what Whitner is reportedly asking for (7 Mil) and all are old contracts except for Berry, who makes the most of all of them, so it's difficult to compare the $7 mill number against their contracts. The question isn't really how good is Whitner, which is probably average to above average, but what they'd replace him with or what resources (2nd round pick?) they'd have to use to get that replacement. You also conveniently left out tackles. It's almost too easy.
  19. He did just donate $1 Million to Kaleida Health for their adult day care program. But you're right, he owes something to you... http://orchardpark.wgrz.com/content/ralph-c-wilson-jr-donates-1-million-kaleida-health "The funding will be used to subsidize the cost of attendance and transportation to the adult day care program. It will also provide funding for programmatic activities and much needed capital purchases such as equipment and supplies. Kaleida Health operates two adult day care centers, in Amherst and North Tonawanda. The Wilson’s donation will also assist Kaleida Health’s home care program, the Visiting Nursing Association. The donation will support the patient and caregiver in their home in a variety of ways including the purchasing of “mediplanners,” or medication management tools, personal emergency response systems, telehealth monitoring services, plus home safety and falls risk education and programming." <edited for content> beerball
  20. They also changed defensive systems this year.
