  1. If I remember correctly they were laughed at for not voting with the rest of the owners, wasn't Ralph's response that he didn't understand it?
  2. There are a bunch of decent RTs: Clabo, Colon, Yanda, Gaither, Clarey...
  3. Official via Twitter: AdamSchefter One more job down. @SDchargersdude Greg Manusky is the Chargers new defensive coordinator. But would he have play calling control over Edwards? My guess is no.
  4. The initial post I was responding to spoke of Bledsoe as though winning the Super Bowl was his crowning achievement, I was merely pointing out that he in fact was not the starter on the team and while he did play a role in them getting there, he did not even play in the Super Bowl. In my eyes he is no more a "Super Bowl winning quarterback" than Rob Johnson or Mark Brunell. And while playing half of the game in Pittsburgh and helping his team win the AFC Championship is commendable and what you ask your 2nd string QB to do, let's not act like he carried the Patriots on his back to victory. In regards to Mallett being compared to Bledsoe, the comparison is being drawn due to each's lack of mobility not so much their overall game. When Bledsoe came out he was the top rated prospect and #1 pick. Mallett, not so much.
  5. I'm hoping they can fill that spot with a free agent, Willie Colon, Jared Gaither, Marshal Yanda and Jeromey Clarey all would represent an upgrade at that position.
  6. Quinn is just as big a one year wonder as Bowers or Fairley. Bowers had 4 career sacks coming into this season. The risk I see with Quinn is that he didn't play this year, not his one year of production. But, the argument could be made he's the front 7 defensive player who had the earliest success and high level of production and if he hadn't sat out he'd likely be the defensive player at the top with more than one year of production.
  7. Best player available, of those listed Gabbert, Newton, and Miller don't represent that.
  8. Perry Fewell was a Dbacks coach with the Rams when Lebeau was here.
  9. Not to mention Florence is a UFA and is likely gone.
  10. Martez Wilson? Stephen Paea? DeAndre McDaniel?
  11. http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2011/01/10/wade-phillips-returns-houston/ Could be similar to what Dick Lebeau did here in 2003, in theis scenario would be interesting to see who would call the defense on gameday as Lebeau did not.
  12. You know who you would see acting like that? The entire Jets team, from head coach down. I don't feel bad that they got a taste of their own medicine.
  13. Yesterday on ESPN radio Russ Lande rated Mallet as a 3rd or 4th round pick. Also this from SportingNews.com:
  14. Kyle Williams, Dwan Edwards, Marcus Stroud and two of their top 3 draft picks last year (Troupe and Carrington), Spencer Johnson...stocked at DL then too?
  15. The statement "we are stocked at WR" is untrue, we are just as stocked at defensive line. Both are a need.
  16. Dick Lebeau was assistant head coach in 2003 under Gregg Williams, he's been the defensive coordinator in Pittsburgh since 2004. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_LeBeau http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregg_Williams
  17. Bills played NFC West in 2008, therefore won't play them again until 2012.
  18. Seems like McCoy would best fit in a west coast system.
  19. I guess my point was that if he is not able to play OLB, and we run 3-4 33% of the time, then our best player that so much has been invested in is either not on the field 33% of the time or is not as effective. In other words, does saying we are a hybrid pigeon hole players just as much as saying we are strictly a 3-4 or 4-3, because now they have to find players that fit both schemes.
  20. When drafting a player at pick 3 or using free agent dollars wouldnt it be important then to find guys who can play in both fronts, not just one or the other, to maximize their utility? So if a guy like Bowers can only play when the team lines up 4-3 is that a wise pick?
