I don't think there's an answer to your question, seems like it would be something that would be negotiated into the new CBA. The drafted players won't be able to sign until a new CBA is reached, so if it was determined a rookie scale is to be used it would also have to be negotiated as to when it starts. Seems like owners would be pushing for it to apply to this upcoming draft. No, I actually think that is the most likely scenario. Esp with them using 2 of their top 3 picks on DL last year, having Kyle Williams there, and signing Dwan Edwards. Ideally, with their top 3 picks, I'd like to see them come away with a CB to compete for one of the top 3 spots with McKelvin and McGee, an ILB to compete/beat out Davis, and an OLB to compete/beat out Kelsay.

I'd like a little of each, 1 Dareus 2 Wilson 3 Beal 4 Stocker 4 Matthews 5 Ziemba 6 Clay 7 Blanc If Florence isn't resigned or a comparable CB isn't signed in free agency it's my opinion that they're going to need to take a CB somewhere in the first 4 rounds.

Something that can be taken from this is that playoff teams need good players at all positions. So many of the arguments made are that we need position x before position y. What difference does it make? You will go nowhere without both of them. I feel this is what Buddy Nix is after when he repeatedly claims they'll be drafting the BPA.

I agree, I don't think it's known that he can be much better than Fitzpatrick. In that instance it's not worth using high draft picks to acquire him.
