  1. Given the amount of time Brady typically has when the Patriots play us I'd say the answer is it doesn't matter.
  2. I don't mind Quinn in the first round, but I'd definately like to see an ILB taken in the 1st three rounds as well to push Davis.
  3. The Bills would be lucky to fetch pick 114, let alone pick 14.
  4. I don't understand, I didn't say he didn't become more productive. Just that he wasn't an unproductive player prior to his junior year as some have claimed. Some may have considered him a bust due to the expectations of a #1 overall recruit, but he was still producing in those years unlike Fairley or some of the other highly touted draft prospects. I've also yet to read anything to say that he wasn't dedicated prior to his junior year, just that he dropped weight. Perhaps the weight drop improved his speed/quickness and made him a better player, he's still not small by any measure. There's also this: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1619548 The point of my post was to say that Bowers is a big man, and has played at an even bigger size and been a productive player. He's also lauded for his strength and ability as a run stopper, and has drawn comparisons to other 3-4 ends (Shaun Ellis). Therefore perhaps he could be the best option for the Bills as he could fit into a multiple front type defense as a 3-4 end and a 4-3 end.
  5. The bust tag was labeled due to a lack of sacks, not so much production. He started 6 games as a true freshman earning freshman all american and started his entire sophomore season, however missed time in 5 games due to a knee injury (further hurting his sack #s). Obviously those sack #s exploded his junior year. I'm starting to lean his way as he can be productive as either a DE in a 3-4 and as a strong side pass rushing DE in nickel or 4-3 situations. I question his ability to play OLB in a 3-4.
  6. Could Bowers be the best fit for a 3-4 hybrid type defense? He would have an effective position in both defenses and is drawing comparisons to other 3-4 ends such as Shaun Ellis. He is listed at 275lbs for his senior season, but prior to last season played around 295lbs, prototypical size for a 3-4 end.
  7. I'd like Rudolph to fall to the 2nd. Sheppard in the 3rd would be nice also.
  8. Where did you get these measurements? Fairley isn't even listed at 300lbs, let alone 320. http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/player?id=27293&_slug_=nick-fairley&action=upsell&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fnfl%2fdraft%2fplayer%3fid%3d27293%26_slug_%3dnick-fairley
  9. Thought this was interesting, consolidated a few of the major media big boards and created a "Bigger Board" using the averages. If only I could spell 'consensus'. http://walterfootball.com/draft2011bigboard.php Honestly, other than Julio Jones, I wouldn't be surprised or overly disappointed by any of the top 10 or Newton being taken by the Bills at #3.
  10. I've read there are some questions about Prince Amukamara's speed and his ability to be a "shutdown" corner. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=nfp-20110208_is_prince_amukamara_worth_a_topten_pick It's obviously just one guys opinion, but most early rankings having him being picked #9 to Dallas at the earliest (prob #11 to Houston at the latest).
  11. If they think he'll be gone by 3 won't another team have to trade ahead of 3 to get him? It works in that if he doesn't want Cam, and another team trades ahead of them to take Cam, pushing a player he does want to them at 3. It doesn't really increase the value of his pick.
  12. Mayocks take on Cam's workout: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Newton-s-media-workout-was-more-sizzle-than-stea;_ylt=AqTMI77J1e4QUhkhglS8mjhDubYF?urn=nfl-320101
  13. From Schefter's Twitter: AdamSchefter RT @Denver_Broncos: Demaryius Thomas suffered Achilles tendon injury on Wed while working out in Ga. Recovery expected to take 6-8 months. AdamSchefter RT @ChrisWesseling: Achilles tendon ruptures in NFL: 36% never play again. Those who play can't meet pre-injury level Does this put AJ Green in play for them at pick #2? Pushing another defensive player down?
  14. Sheppard should be the pick, they need a SILB to compete with and eventually replace Andra Davis.
  15. Wasnt Denver supposedly trying to move up to draft Cutler?
  16. I voted "get it settled." Also, I doubt they would just use this years draft order again for next years draft.
  17. I wouldn't be opposed to them using it on him to make sure they retain him. The franchise amount in 2010 for an LB was $9.6 million, due to youth and stats Poz will probably sign a contract worth more than what Gary Brackett got last offseason, which was 5 years-$33 million but with a $12 million signing bonus. The $9.6 would actually save them money for next year and give them exclusive negotiating rights to ensure a long term deal. Also, I know it doesn't tell the whole story, but Poz had 52 more tackles than Harris last season while playing 2 less games with both in a 3-4 defense.
  18. I think you go Peterson in that instance, I think they are typically rated pretty close or the same, with that in mind you'd have to go with the position of greater need. I guess it depends on how the Bills have them ranked. What's your opinion on Bowers? I dont think he can play OLB, but he has played at a heavier weight his freshman/sophomore year and could perhaps play 3-4 DE. His one big year of output scares me though.
  19. I actually read that he got smaller, lost like 20 lbs and recommited to football after the death of his father. But also makes you wonder where the commitment was from the #1 HS recruit the first two years of his college career. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1619548
  20. Weren't there some questions regarding Brees? Was he a franchise QB when he signed with NO, or after? Again, I think Vick had some questions and uncertainty when the Eagles signed him, something about sitting in a jail cell for 2 years doesn't scream "Franchise QB". Not sure I'd consider Favre at 39 years old a franchise QB, nor Flutie ever.
