  1. I think they typically stay away from guys with character concerns. I wouldn't be surprised if Kenrick Ellis and Phil Taylor are both taken off their board.
  2. History doesn't matter as rules have changed, how did he rank amongst current NFL QBs? Mediocre to bad. http://www.buffalobills.com/media-center/videos/Bills-Focus-Buddy-Nix-1-on-1/18e14493-81e1-42b9-b42e-5f413c79afa2 2:43 "...in fact we feel good about outside linebacker, we need a couple of inside backers" Maybin plays OLB, the OP also said "and maybe Maybin."
  3. Gailey isn't the only one making the picks: Nix has Rivers on his resume from SD, and Whaley has Roethlisberger on his from Pitt. If the draft is deep at these positions wouldn't they be better served to draft Dline in the middle to later rounds. Especially with their investment at Dline in last years draft.
  4. I think pre-draft players that are good fits for 3-4 OLB are often undervalued by the draft publications etc. However once the actual draft comes, the supply of players with his size/skillset is so low, and the demand for players like him is so high with the increasing number of teams moving to the 3-4, that they often end up going much higher than is expected. Examples of this are Demarcus Ware in 2005, Anthony Spencer in 2007, Vernon Gholston in 2008, or Larry English in 2009. I wouldn't be surprised to see him taken in the late teens.
  5. As a season ticket holder I would much rather pay full price for a regular season game than a preseason game. Which is why they are making the change.
  6. Perhaps, but with their depth and youth I feel they can find a solid starter amongst that group, and concentrate their available resources elsewhere.
  7. He wasn't the outright starter, he was splitting time with the phenom Drew Henson.
  8. I feel between Urbik, Hangartner, Wrotto, Howard, and Rhinehardt they have their RG on the roster already
  9. Negative, you're thinking Bryant McKinney. Negative, you're thinking Barrett Robbins.
  10. Eric Weddle is a UFA and likely won't be resigned by SD now that they signed Bob Sanders. He'd also have Buddy Nix connections. I could see this as their move at SS.
  11. He's not on waivers. Do you have a link for this? Cause I can't find anything saying that.
  12. 2006: Leinart or Ernie Sims 2006b: I was certain the Bills were trading up to get Mangold. 2007: I remember saying "anyone but Marshawn Lynch." 2008: McKelvin or Brandon Albert 2009a: Orakpo 2009b: Delmas 2010: Spiller, Derrick Morgan, or Bulaga 2011: Patrick Peterson or Cam Newton
  13. huh? Don't you think there's a difference between a 2nd stringer without a position and a guy who was a captain for the Super Bowl champs?
  14. Yeah, do it. I think I owe someone on this board an apology for calling them nuts when they posted we should trade for him. Now he's free!
  15. The trouble with the fantasy sports analogy is that a fantasy season covers only one year. So in fantasy you need to draft a QB, in the NFL draft you do not.
  16. I think if you were a 4-3 team you could make the argument that he was perhaps being played out of position and give him a chance at DE. However, the Bills are not, so no interest.
  17. Exactly, but Peterson being the best player in the draft at the time they pick does.
  18. If the pick is made solely based on them losing Florence I agree. It basically a need vs. best player available argument.
  19. I respect your opinion and feel it's a decent argument to make, especially with the recent success of late round or undrafted RBs such as Arian Foster or Ryan Grant. However, I feel your argument that the devaluation of the RB position by "elite" teams is greatly exaggerated as recent Super Bowl teams such as New Orleans (Bush), Indianapolis (D Brown & J Addai) and most recently Pittsburgh (Mendenhall) have all taken RBs with their top picks. Also, as seen earlier in the thread, it was less of a proclamation and more of a sentence taken out of context.
  20. Depends, is the player you really want gone by the time you pick after the trade down?
  21. The team he took over was 6-10 the previous year with one win against the Colts backups, and were there not holes all over the place on that team? I don't think he said it quite as blatantly, but was something more along the lines of needing talented players and therefore as many high picks as possible to obtain these players. Then again it is strange that in the Marshawn trade they took 2 lower picks from Seattle rather than 1 higher from the Saints if this is his philosophy.
  22. I'm guessing Tommie Harris http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0301-haugh-bears-harris--20110228,0,1033420.column Pass on both, Harris doesnt fit the Bills scheme, and Woody is old.
