  1. as head of scouting, i would think this is the only time of year you could fire him, otherwise his work has started for the following year.
  2. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/TSX/2011_SS CBS had Searcy rated as the 2nd overall SS and their 105th overall player. Also interesting is the pronunciation of his last name: Pronounced SIR-cee
  3. If he is deemed so valuable from outside circles, perhaps it could lead to a return via trade.
  4. I thought that's what they were offering him? Which I thought was a little light considering Antrel Rolle's contract: http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3149/player?r=1
  5. Other teams can't sign him without giving compensation. If he plays, he plays under the offer tendered, and therefore comes at a great discount. If they play under the 2010 rules the Bills own his rights.
  6. That's what I would guess as well. Tough to give up the top of the draft talent though.
  7. Is it a certainty that it is only this year? What if he never plays? You'd be posting about how dumb the front office if for drafting a player with cancer.
  8. Cause Ziemba is going to have to play guard in the NFL, and may have a hard time doing that: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1264629 The Bills had already drafted an RT in the 4th round. Also, I think things change a bit once the later rounds come, short term expectations are lowered for the pick. The Bills had a need for a 5th CB, I find it hard to believe you would draft an OT in the 7th round and expect him to challenge as a starter.
  9. My issue was with the term "elite," playing good in a majority of games doesn't make him elite in any way. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are elite. He's not in their class and didn't play one game in their class last year.
  10. Brian Brohm is an untendered RFA, old rules or new rules he's a goner. Depending on what determines free agency Caleb Hanie, Brodie Croyle or Tyler Thigpen could be options. Croyle & Thigpen both have worked with Chan at KC. Does Fitz have any years of "elite level play" behind him?
  11. 1. best player available at a position of need. It's not one or the other, it's the combination of both. CBS has him listed as their 66th overall player, he was selected at 41. 2. Getting there, there's no such thing as too big. 3. I find it hard to use undrafted guys taken from other teams practice squads and 7th round picks as proof of anything.
  12. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2011/05/01/batten-could-be-on-move/ I actually like this idea, he showed signs during camp at OLB before injury after switching from DE in college, no need to make him learn another new position.
  13. It's poorly written on twitter: he's saying the Chargers, Bills and Browns drafts shouldn't be overlooked. And that the Browns now have two first-round picks in 2012.
  14. I think that's a perfect assessment. Same thing with the Williams pick, if the Steelers take Williams 3 picks earlier, where he had him mocked, it'd be an A. Because the Bills selected him, it's a C.
  15. Interesting since Drafttek had him rated the highest overall of any site I could find on the internet.
  16. BrianGalliford Rick Gosselin gave the #Bills an A+ for their draft efforts. Seriously.
  17. DL: Edwards-Williams-Dareus LB: Merriman-Posluszny-Davis-Kelsay/Moats CB: McKelvin-McGee nickle: Williams FS: Byrd SS: Whitner (for now, maybe a FA replacement but as of right now he was tendered as an RFA and is still a Bill)
  18. He's a 7th round pick, if he's able to make it on the field for 15 plays a game they got good value out of the pick. That's 405lbs he's putting up at the end of the video.
  19. One of the airlines has NFL team decorated planes. I flew on a Pittsburgh Steelers plane on my way to Aruba.
