  1. I don't understand what you are getting at. Obviously you can go back and change the order of who the best players were in every draft from every year. Different publications do it all the time. It doesn't take away from the players grade or projection at the time of the draft or that it's short sighted to analyze a draft after only one season. This seems like a foolish argument because there is no way to know the correct answer but it's not like Spiller was a choice from left field who wasn't expected to go that high.
  2. He was before, not sure how the Dareus pick would change that. Dareus takes Stroud's spot, Troup probably plays a similar amount as he did at the end of last year.
  3. All that SF received was the 1st round pick the following year though, and had to give up an additional 4th. So 2 players this year for 1 player next year. From a team that, I know it's uncertain & didn't end up this way, general concensus said could contend the following season. I would take Aaron Williams and Da'Norris Searcy this year over a 1st round pick next year from a contending team. Who knows what the other offers were, the value chart would show teams picking close to us were likely offering an extra 4th to move down a few picks. If they liked Williams that much and had a 1st round grad on him I'm glad they made the pick.
  4. He had more opportunity than Spiller to start, and by the end of the season lost his starting job to Mike Tolbert.
  5. Estate taxes. I think his spouse could have the team tax free, but supposedly she wants no part of it. Not sure when or where that was reported, but seems to be claimed often.
  6. The time to hire & fire guys for these positions is right now, the draft marks the end of their work for last year and the beginning of their work for the following year. Would put the new guy, and your team, at a disadvantage by giving him less time to prepare & give input for the upcoming year.
  7. 2 guys hired with experience from outside of the organization. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2011/5/11/2166137/buddy-nix-bills-tom-gibbons-chuck-cook
  8. You keep naming these 3 as though they are the only 3 players to ever play in the NFL from the West, or that they are somehow indicative of the talent level of players from the West. Also, it's not like players from the South are infallible.
  9. Then he should like Lee at the $3.275 base salary he's set to make in 2011 & 2012.
  10. Evans, Johnson, Parrish, Nelson, Jones, Roosevelt, Easley. Depth at WR seems okay to me.
  11. Maybe true if you're a player, I hope the players are thinking the way you do. But we're fans, with limited or no impact on the actual outcome of the games.
  12. I agree, I think it's obviously not a position he values very highly. I think the Cornell Green signing was more of a panic move he was forced into when Butler retired. He didn't want to trust the position to a rookie & there wasn't much available in free agency for the position & didn't want to give up resources (draft picks & money) in a trade.
  13. SD signed Bob Sanders before the CBA expired, took it as a sign of Weddle's demise in SD. Wilson already resigned with the Bills. Kiwanuka started all of 2007 at LB for the Giants and played parts of 2009 in a 4-3. Not sure why he wouldn't be able to handle the switch to 3-4, especially if it is going to take advantage of his pass rush skills.
  14. All this assuming a new CBA and not 2010 free agent rules: CB Drayton Florence, let's get this guy resigned. TE Matt Spaeth, great size and blocker, hasn't had an opportunity in the passing game in Pitt SS Eric Weddle, if Donte isnt retained. QB Brodie Croyle, has experience under Chan, still perhaps a shred of upside. OLB Matthias Kiwanuka, has an injury history so could actually be a viable option, just don't have faith in Moats to hand him the starting job.
  15. drawing of renovation: http://athletics.sjfc.edu/sports/2010/3/15/FB_0315100949.aspx?
  16. It'd have to be a lottery, perhaps weighted, probably similar to how the NHL did it a few years ago. Serpentine draft.
  17. The grass fields used by the Bills during camp were previously seldom used by Fisher athletics, primary by club sports (rugby). They have a turf field, same surface as in Ralph, in the stadium that is used by football & soccer for practice & games.
  18. Agree with you, sounds more like a message to Donte, what one of the posters in that thread was claiming.
  19. Who's talking about Whitner? Also, I wasn't debating contract terms, just whether he was worth resigning. I assume Revis would make a heck of a lot more than Florence.
  20. His int for a TD came at the beginning of the Minnesota game, to put them up 7-0. The Int counts as a PD, so that wouldn't be during garbage time. The other pick that game was on the 1st drive. His FF in the NE game the score was 6-7. You can make stats say whatever you want, especially when you're not actually analyzing the game and therefore making things up, as you are with your "95% of his tackles" stat. The team only won 4 games, so you're saying his PD's didnt come in a total of 3 games last season? Not a very large sample to make a conclusion from. Also, pass defensed is probably one of the most worthless stats ever. Though you could say perhaps he wasn't targeted in those games, making it not possible to have a Pass Defensed. Can we give him credit for being a productive player on a bad team, and actually playing out the whole year despite only winning 4 games.
