Bills not funding coaches' pension & 401K plans
Ghost of Rob Johnson replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you wait until games are actually missed you won't have time to make up the losses from those games before year end. They're being proactive and budgeting for a loss of games/revenue. You can add money into the pension later if need be, but you're not going to get back what you've already given. The employees can still save money in their 401k for themselves, the Bills just arent matching it, which is something that not many companies do anymore anyway. -
Torell Troup's Progress
Ghost of Rob Johnson replied to buffalohotwings's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CBS had him listed as their 66th overall player, still a reach at 41, but hardly as bad as you let on. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospectrankings/TSX/2010_DT -
Torell Troup's Progress
Ghost of Rob Johnson replied to buffalohotwings's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's playing too high, the knee on the ground is probably a last desperate attempt to at least fall and create a pile...but it's too late. -
As did Maybin: Not sure about AJ though: WGRZ w/ Video

Didn't Gailey's quotes from March not question his work ethic, but instead his ability: http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/27217/gailey-calls-out-first-rounder-aaron-maybin

Agreed, I think all 4 LB spots are in the air. Can Merriman stay healthy? Will they resign Poz and will he stay healthy? Is the other ILB the aging Davis or the 3rd round rookie Sheppard? Is the other OLB "out of position" Kelsay or former 6th round pick with little experience Moats? I think it's an intruiging group, but not a team strength or something to be positive about going into this season.

Combine per wiki: Ht 6'4" Wt 249 lb 40 yd dash: 4.88 s 20 yd shuttle: 4.38 s 3 cone: 7.52 s vert: 40 in broad jump: 10ft 10 in bench: 22 reps wonderlic: 25 Upped his weight to 252lbs and lowered his 40 time to 4.59 seconds at the Penn State pro day.

But in that instance the Super Bowl would still remain the same week, there would just be no Bye week between the conf championships and the SB.

It's a sign that the Bills are getting new uniforms next year.

Ran a 4.59 40 at the Penn State pro day.

Chris Kelsay anyone?
Ghost of Rob Johnson replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, which is an issue that kills the Tim Graham article linked above as well. Who knows when and if those bonuses kick in. They could even be performance driven. -

Nice, I'm sure ESPN will be reporting live.

Bills' Fitzpatrick Ranks Poorly Under Pressure
Ghost of Rob Johnson replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a large portion of the issue is that they are not statistical facts because it is an opinion as to what determines "pressure." Or at least that's an argument against it. Also, the grading system seems to involve more than the "statistical facts" that are claimed. As I have stated previously, some of the stats show well for Fitz. He's one of the best at sack % when pressured. He's above average at interception % when pressured. This tells me Fitz gets the ball out when pressured without taking a loss and without creating turnovers. He makes the smart play and lives for another down. I think these numbers show exactly what we thought of Fitz, he's an average QB/athlete with great intelligence. I think that range seems about right. -

The grade is poor, but some of the percentages show exactly what Fitz is/does. He has a low completion percentage when facing pressure, but also has one of the lowest sack percentages on the table. Also, his interception % when facing pressure is middle of the pack compared with other QBs. This tells me Fitz gets the ball out when pressured without taking a loss and without creating turnovers. He makes the smart play and lives for another down. I think these numbers show exactly what we thought of Fitz, he's an average QB with great intelligence. -
It Looks To Me As If Mr. Wilson.....
Ghost of Rob Johnson replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Major questions about his upbringing along with questions about his maturity, work ethic, & consistency. Not to mention a 10 game NCAA suspension for lying to NCAA investigators. And it seems like some of those questions are being answered with his issues at the Dallas mall. I don't give the Bills fault for drafting him if they felt he was the best available player. As of right now it has turned out he wasn't but we're only one season in. I guess we'll have to wait a few years to find out if they were right. -

I think Dez had a few issues that detracted from his grade. -
What the pundits don't know

I disagree with this, you don't get to where they are without being self motivated or at least knowing what it takes in the offseason to stay prepare for the coming season. -
PFW looks at the Bills
Ghost of Rob Johnson replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thought this was interesting, remember reading that Chandler was a big TE and great blocker when they signed him: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/12/2/1851794/report-bills-claim-te-scott-chandler-on-waivers Who supposedly was an "above average receiver with large, natural hands, good hand-eye coordination and good body control throughout his route progression" when coming into the league. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/historical/408163 Wonder if he has a chance at being the Bills starting TE. Even if he is only a somewhat reliable receiver who can contribute in a big way in the run game he'd be an upgrade over last season. Especially with the number of 4 WRs sets they used last year. -

PFT Bills Team Checklist 1. Find a starting tackle 2. Add a backup QB 3. Decide whether they can afford Paul Pozluszny 4. Pick up a TE
