THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Bills Fans in the Dumps
downunderbill replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree 100% with all of it. -
Love the optimism, and I honestly believe with the resources available to build the offense next year we will be back in the thick of the playoff hunt again, but the offence does suck this year. There's no hiding that.

Do we really have give McBeane the 2019 season?

If you say so. Let Terry know so he can get on with getting new guys in. -

Would Tyrod have won the Texan & Indy games - and -

Didn't he have trouble scoring in the second half? #4 and his consecutive 50+ yarders had as much to with winning nine games than #5. -
Here is why I'm not panicking...

FFS just give up. Everybody knows how you feel. You say it multiple times in every thread and nobody here can do anything about it. You seem like a switched on dude, surely there is more to add to conversations. -
McBeane Confidence
downunderbill replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, I'll happily eat crow but not until the end of next season. Every head coach needs time to build their team. Understandably patience is low but he deserves the chance to find finish what he started. Any new coach will want three years to build. Can't keep calling for their heads as soon as the get someone you don't like or lose a couple of games. -
Year One works if the cap wasn't previously mismanaged. I don't know the Ins and outs of what was left for the new regime but was it at the stage where stopping, taking massive dead cap hit and starting again was the better option? What I do know there were some big contacts players weren't living up to.

Going Through WORST Possible Scenario With Allen
downunderbill replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His seat isn't getting any warmer this year, who says that? You? Do you think you could carry nearly 60 million in dead cap without the owner being on board? That would kinda raise some questions. You don't start that far behind everyone else and think you won't make major strides backwards. He's only halfway through building the team. It's painful for everyone to watch but using logic instead of emotion states he'll need at least another year year to finish what he started. Just as you can't throw Allen to the curb yet because on this offence no rookie would win. Look how spectacularly the right Josh played last night and he has at least some talent on offence. Can't imagine he would have turned this team around either. -
What We Will Know by the Trade Deadline
downunderbill replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha ha I was thinking the same thing, I hope he'll have a good game against the Colts and be crowned the saviour. Follow it up with a bad game and so we go back into meltdown because that's what this board is all about. -
Peterman Could Play in Indy
downunderbill replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Will he? -
If half of you guys had your way the coaching carousel would continue every time the team had a bad game. Rex has a bad time in Buffalo we called for his head, and rightfully so. New regime is brought in and starts the process of culling the team to bring in their guys for their system, you know, like every NFL head coach in history. Normally it takes about three years to build a team and start seeing consistent results of that build, but because they didn't draft the QB you wanted, that Leash is shortened to one and a half seasons.

Mahomes and his offensive gameplan
downunderbill replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is a rare talent for sure but the chiefs are stacked. -
Doesn't matter if you do. The chance they are taking another QB next year is minimal. Especially if they win a few more games they will move into a position where they'll either have to give up bulk picks to get another, or take a later early round QB that no one will agree on. Wouldn't it be better to surround him with weapons and if he fails then, look at other options? At least a new QB coming in will have better players around him from the beginning.

Is Josh Allen just a taller Tyrod Taylor
downunderbill replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod was surrounded by players, Allen isn't. -
Predict the Score: Titans at Bills

I think this year is going to be a year that you won't know which Bills team will show up game to game. -
OT-- Which muppet does Patrick Mahomes sound like?
downunderbill replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does anyone watch those Gridiron Heights clips. They nail his choice. -
Every new coach and GM wants to build the team to their liking though. Been that way for a long time. I know the futility of the 21st century as well, been a fan through the whole drought but that's not Beane and McDermotts fault. It's going to be a bad year nothing is going to help that because they aren't going to, and can't spend big to salvage the season. Personally I'm looking at the positives this year, not that there have been many, to continue to build on next year. It proves they can coach a half decent team to the playoffs. The Bills aren't a half decent team this year.
