  1. I was just watching the top draft classes of all time on NFLN and they had the Bills class of 85 as number 9. They start off talking about Bledsoe becoming ill and the team being in turmoil and Polian comes out of nowhere...... Specifically they mentioned Bruce, Frank Reich and Andre..... said it was the "catapult" to their AFC dominance.....

I know I'm hoping for too much but I hope somehow Buddy comes up with something similar this year.... I think about that draft where the Chargers got LT and Brees in the same draft......I know Buddy wasn't pulling the trigger then and who knows how much he had to do with that draft but if we could do the same with an LT/QB instead of RB/QB somehow that would be amazing..... Just trying to be hopeful even though like the rest of you I've become cynical and jaded based on the last ten years....

  2. Whether they would view Campbell as a longterm solution doesn't matter. If they can obtain him in a fair trade I can't see why they wouldn't. They've all but stated they don't think much of the three they've got. Even if they think we're a couple/few years away they still want to try and win football games now. At this point they don't know if they will be able to draft a QB that they have their eye on and if they do if he'll be ready to play right away. So why wouldnt they want to aquire a guy they thinks gives them a shot at winning games?

  3. Unfortunately, we won't get him and I hope we dont draft Clausen if hes available just because he's the next projected QB to go. I think thats what we did with JP. We needed a QB traded back in and grabbed the guy we felt was the next slated QB to go. I hate to bring it up but Brady was a 6th rounder. We could find a guy after round one....

  4. Who was out there that was so amazing at a position of need that we should've signed? If there was a star QB or LT or NT that hit the market I'd have said throw money at them and sign them.... there weren't any. All the premiere NT's got franchised, there were no stud LT's available (that I know of) and I don't think Seneca Wallace, Delhomme, Anderson or Quinn are the answer at QB either........

  5. I agree with Darth on this one. Honestly what superstars were out there at our biggest positions of need? There were no LT/OL, NT nor QB superstars available. There aren't even any solid starters at any of those positions really available. So who were we supposed to jump out of the gate and sign? With the lack of a CBA there's something like 200 less FA's available......

  6. Well I don't think we could be any worse on offense.... I think we'll actually be better- Gailey is an offensive mind and has a reputation of adapting the system to the guys he has. We won't be firing our OC right before the season starts and should at the least get some depth on the OL. My concern is on defense........ we couldn't stop the run last year but were good against the pass. I'm all for the switch to the 3-4 however, it might take a year for the change to really work as the guys adapt to it and we get the proper players in that are suited to the 3-4.

I'm not concerned about free agency. I mean seriously, who has been signed at this point that we could've really used? There were no big time LT's or OL's available, No big time NT's available, NO big time QB's available so I can see why we didn't sign anyone right off the bat.

I'm hoping we draft well and get some immediate contributors. At the least I hope we take an LT or someone solid at a position of need in the first round rather than a DB or RB with 3 torn ligaments or a DE built like a WR.....

I'm just hoping we're competetive next year even if we don't win a lot of games. If we're in most games, our Offense has a pulse and we actually stop the run I'll consider it progress and look forward to the future......

  7. While I would love to find our next franchise QB I am also hoping they draft a LT. Since 97 our O Line has been pretty bad and I, for one, would love to see it solidified. With that being said, I don't think anyone truly knows what Buddy and Chan are planning on doing. I mean there was a link (I believe it was Fox) to a report that the Bills want a QB and may trade up with Detriot. Honestly, with all the deception involved in the draft it could all just be a smoke screen. I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm just hoping for a good solid pick at number 9 that turns out to be a great player for us and contributes right away....

  8. OT Anthony Davis, Rutgers*

Known to abhor the weight room at Rutgers and rely far too much on his natural ability, Davis showed up at the Combine looking sloppy-bodied and overweight. At 323 pounds, he clocked above 5.4 in the 40 on some watches and managed only 21 reps of 225 pounds, the fewest of any of the top four tackles who grade out the highest in the draft on tape. Known for consistently being late and not being accountable in college, Davis demonstrated his immaturity during interviews.

Sorry if this was posted already.

  9. I have no reason to fabricate a story about Ralph's Daughter living in NJ or getting her hair done. It's not like I mentioned I have inside info on what the team is doing. I only mentioned that he told me she said Ralph is not doing well thats about it. And for all I know that could mean he has a cold I don't know.

My buddy could care less about football and if he wasn't friends with me the whole thing would've been nothing to him. He did mention that before he knew who she was he noticed she had a "Bills Cover" on her blackberry or phone or whatever....

  10. An old friend of mine was waiting to get his haircut yesterday in Englewood, NJ. It was an upscale place in a very upsacle district. He's been getting his hair cut there for 5 years or so as he used to be the Sales Manager at a very high end watch store across the street. The guy who cuts his hair was working on a woman who mentioned she was going to buy a watch for her father who is elderly. So he naturally gets my buddy involved in the conversation and he gives her advice on what to buy. Turned out to be Ralph's Daughter and the watch is for him. She apparently lives in Englewood Cliffs. He actually used to watch Bills games w/me back in the 90's but really doesn't know much about football and thus didn't say anything. All he said is that she said Ralph is not doing well at all. He's like if I could've traded places with anyone I'd have traded with you. I told him she would've rolled her eyes at me and thrown me out LOL. She wanted to talk watches not football with a lunatic fan LOL.

Okay so I know that was kind of pointless but I thought it was interesting never knew she lived so close to where I live.....

  11. Perhaps in the cases of Fine Wendling and Jenkins maybe they were cut early as a courtesy. If they realistically weren't going to see playing time outside of ST's and not make the final roster this will give them a chance to fully explore other opportunities.... I agree that if we're playing a 3-4 we will be keeping a lot of LB's some of whom will be ST mainstays....
