bruce basically ended his career - why would he?

Actually, A Perfect Outcome Today
rpcolosi replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
agreed. I take back everything Ive saaid about Trent. he is done here. Fitz made it look like those guys were as open as they have been all season. TE needs a new head since the wilson hit -
isnt it apparent the WRs are very unhappy with him? and AVP has seen the same things... It came down to Edwards taken on the DJ approach - be safe, don't turn it over. He's been coached to NOT TURN IT OVER. Instead he should be coached to win the game and make good decisions. Its part of his curve - Since he came in and played the kid was solid and lead 4th quarter comebacks... now he is getting coached to not lose and has gotten away from what made him a good QB - feeling pressure, delivering it quickly and make the mid range throws. DJ has ruined him for now. Isn't it interesting to see how TE turned into JP Losman rather quickly? This has coaching written ALL OVER IT> I Agree with Peter King - TE has some game in him. But we better get one heck of a coach who can undo everything DJ did. Jauron has ruined QBs his whole career with his - be safe, don't turn it over philopsphy. He doesn't coach to win - he coaches to not lose. We all know this. It's less the player as so much it is him. And because he is "such a nice guy" the players all love him and buy into it. ughh.... maybe holmgren can turn TE around. I am sure another team will pick him up and he will show some flashes again..

Bills need to sign this Man for the G.M. job today!
rpcolosi replied to peanuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you are ridiculous. sure - lets give a Hell NO to one of the best and classiest coaches in the NFL who brings instant cred to your team. the guy did an amazing job rebuilding the Bucs from perennial losers into SB champs - Gruden would be the mistake hire, that man won with dungy's team. and don't say he only won cause of peyton - manning had plenty of time before TD to win and he didnt. we'd be beyond stupid to not get Dungy. We all agree Polian is the best GM out there -why would we not want his best coaching hire? -
Hot Rumor on ESPNews earlier.
rpcolosi replied to UpstateSwagger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
competely agreed. his only problem there was he couldn't get shaun king to do anything. he built the team that Gruden won with. in my book dungy's got two rings... he'd be an excellent fit. someone that resembles marv but is clearly a far better coach and knows defense well. i just hate the tampa 2 but hey, he knows it better than anyone. -
Where were you and what was your reaction
rpcolosi replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i got an email from my bud at ESPN which was 3am Okinawa time that he was getting fired. hes schefter and olney's editor. anyway - it made my entire day brighter on the way to work. then to wake up today hearing about shannahan was a bonus. i still would like to see schottenheimer and cowher get interviewed IF, IF, IF the Carrucci report is true and basically RW is going to put some money into it. I think its clear Jimbo is pulling the strings with getting Ralph to open up. No one else makes that much sense unless it is Levy admitting his mistake. no offense to marv- he hired a man he liked, but clearly, Levy was out of touch with the NFL.... anyways... its a breath of fresh air at OBD. Fewell seems fired up, the players are excited. Its way different then cutting loose Williams, Mularkey, etc in the offseason. does everyone feel that way too? sure we suck, but hey, i at least expect to see some fight and some guys possibly prepared. -
My plan for the rest of the season
rpcolosi replied to PNW_Bills_Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
or keeps perry on as DC. but lets get one thing straight. our rush defense is ATROCIOUS. whether that is Jaruon and his scheme of skinny men in the middle of a 4-3 or Fewell remains to be scene. Perry does wonders with the secondary - but our rush defense is bad.... and so was shannahans those last years in denver. -
shannahan runs the football. its a nice concept. he actually runs it on 3 and 2. he doesnt go shotgun or play action. he runs the football. we have 2 good running backs. it be nice to use them on short yardage downs. its also nice to see a creative coach - and not creative by going for a fake punt at your own 30 in the 3rd quarter. hes a great option along with schottenheimer. the montreal guy would also be a big plus. haslett is ok - hes better than DJ but might be better as a coordinator

am i the only one who can't stand hamdan? i've hated that he has been on our team for 3 years. he is beyond useless. he looks AWFUL anytime i see him play. he can not run an offense every other throw is off target. I don't know why he is on this roster, because he is not a project. brohm ACTUALLY could be a project. he was a very solid NCAA qb. at least he is someone you can consider developing into a #2. but hamdan isnt even useful for htat. he is the anti-gale gilbert.

Father-son coaching duo in BUF?
rpcolosi replied to TheBlackMamba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
hes nothing like herm. hes had 2 losing seasons. ever. its not should we want him. its would he come out of retirement for us? -
I've been saying it for awhile. We need him. this is the perfect team and perfect situation for it. We need a guy with his personality and his ideas. we need a coach who can take guys and make them better than they are. He comes from arguably the best Bills coach of all time's lineage in Lou Saban... Coaches such as Wisenhunt, Cowher, Dungy have all come from his lineage. He won't be as pricey as say Cowher or Shannahan but he will want to bring in his own guys to coach - by all means. He has never been to the super bowl.. we have never won it. I know its cheesy but that be one heck of a story. I'd really hope Brandon and Ralph at least offer him an interview and get his take on our situation. We just really could use an old school coach such as him. Can we buy a billboard asking for him to come back home to Buffalo? (and Gabriel as GM and move brandon to team president/CEO as per Sully?)
-
schobel never will get the respect or due he deserves, but he is a heck of a player, like molds, and its sad his talent was wasted on this team. next up for that award - lee evans and fred jackson. i'd say stroud too but he at least was on a winning, playoff team. we're a joke. ralph needs to clean it all out. it will never happen. new ownership, blah blah blah.

Something bad happened today :(
rpcolosi replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
that happened to me 3 years ago. I'm used to it now. no more gut wrenching losses or subtle hope. reality is this team has no hope without a new coach and pro personnel guy, and without Ralph coughing up some dough to acquire both of those persons. -
what he meant to say was one day paul mcguire will be back announcing NFL games again...
-
Right on... I dont think the problem is so much Modrak as it is our Choice of Coaches - Mularkey, Jauron, Williams and John Guy. Guy missed on all free agents except the stroud trade (which was probably brandon). I can't name one player we got in FA that was an impact. Maybe Spencer Johnson, but even he is over paid. Kawika has been very average, Peerless was awful, TO was for marketing, no need to go with Langston/Dockery, and so on. I don't know how long Guy has been here or if he gets credit for fletcher, TKO, lindell - but my guess is those lie with Donahoe. all in all we need to dump Guy and Jauron. Modrak is fine at what he does and would be better suited with a football savy coach and GM to aid in personnel decisions.

note to Tim and everyone else: notice who Cutler's top two targets were today? RB and TE... lots of QBs throw to these guys when their O-lines suck. It's common sense.

Finally .. The Real Problem Comes to Light
rpcolosi replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i would say i am not a trent supporter, but i think he has the ability to be a solid NFL qb still.. that said - i looked at his college stats - only 1 300yd passing game. blew my mind. granted he was hurt a ton behind that o-line, but thats nutz. BUT.... he had a TON more long TD throws. even if half of them were check downs, he was throwing a lot more down field. either our line or this coaching staff or his concussions is causing him to not take shots anymore. -
from okinawa... hoorah

MIKE VICK IN BUFFALO.....WHAT???? No, not right now
rpcolosi replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I, as a dentist, do indeed prefer Duffs. i like Vick to buffalo. I also like Dungy to buffalo..... HMMMMMMMMMMM! -
seriously. ND isn't that bad and Weiss is having a far better season then the last few. he's getting better. more importantly, they lost to some good teams (and i hate ND). Navy should be ranked. They almost beat ohio state and they have an insanely good offense based really only around the run. its fun to watch. its just smash mouth, beat them into the ground, come and stop us football. kind of what the bills need again. im in the navy can't help it...

DJ gives Bills a Chance to WIN every game
rpcolosi replied to Chuckknox's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
everything you said there equates to 7-9 football. sure DJ is a good defensive guy. Not even a great one, but a good one. last time I checked, he has never ever had a good offense. if RW wants to save money, demote him to DC. -
hey kid - we aint talking about bill... chris polian is Bill's son... sorry you missed the boat on that
-
he was a LB sometime in his past, either in the NFL or college I forget and am too lazy to look it up. He is also undersized and fast, and is our primary cover guy on TEs. do not ask me why this coaching staff loves him covering tight ends. Ko simpson was a better option because he at least had some height. but thats just common sense talking...
