Scheftner on LA Football, NO BILLS!!
rpcolosi replied to 83 Lee for HOF 83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
does not rule out Toronto in anyway... though i think that shipp may have sailed. looks like old Ralphy Boy fleeced Rogers before he passed... -
cmon its ultimate leader!!! as per TMQ

ive said since i joined this board that FLORIO IS AN IDIOT. he has absolutely zero connections. I'd like one example of one time his "hunches" was correct or that his tips from a "source" came out prior to ANYONE else. he is the worst football "insider" ever because he 1.) has no prior connection to the NFL and 2.) makes wild and stupid accusations and 3.) he reports everyone elses news. pro football weekly and schefter are the two best "sources" to go to. everyone else, mortensen, etc is a waste.... ok i guess clayton is good.
-
EXACTLY... well said. flutie was better than average. Fitz throws a LOT of INTs. he is clearly average for a backup.
-
lynch was significantly better early on compared to benson. he was a probowler already. he is a great player, i dont want ot can him. i think missing those 3 games hurt. he is going to be a great tandem with FJ...
-
donte has played a ton better the last two weeks. maybe fewell has realized this package works, and that using him as a nickle allows him to do more things - ie a CB or saftey blitz, stay up in run support etc. he really is a solid player - we just hate that Levy reached for him. If we were all honest, Donte being taken the end of round 1 or beginning of round 2 and we'd be very content with him. just not 8 overall. I'd like to see what Fewell does with him these last few weeks. its showing me donte might have had skill all along, simply that DJ has ruined him and kept him in a position to fail like say everyone else on this team, including TE, TO, Poz, etc... F - everyone has come to life without him. so refreshing to not have his "play not to lose" attitude around.
-
but a yale grad said that so it has to be true, right? list of other yale grads - Bill Clint, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry.... GWB. they all have something in common with DJ - Talk is cheap. the only one worth a lick is George H.W. Bush. Can't bash a man who was a fighter pilot and got show down in WWII.

Okay...who's gonna try to get to Toronto Thursday?

Thurman Thomas disrespected by two current players
rpcolosi replied to zdro22's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i actually doubt it was TO and he is the only one in there with the cred to actually "dis" them as he is a HOFer and has played in a superbowl. but again, I doubt it was him, unless someone gives some proof. I'd put my money on marshawn and someone like josh reed or roscoe. -
Chances TO signs an extension in '10?
rpcolosi replied to CosmicBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2 years, $14 mil is reasonable. he goes out on his terms at age 38 with some extra change in his pocket. if his career numbers suffer its cause the bills suck and if they stay aroud 1000yds and 6tds then it solidifies is skill. I'd love to see him here another season or two. his work ethic and swagger are something this team is GREATLY lacking. heck, even Evans celebrates a little now. It's nice to see. -
great so we have frank reich(fitz), thurman thomas (fred) and andre reed (lee) covered. just waiting on kent hull, jim kelly, bruce smith, james lofton and darryl talley to show up
-
though he'll never be Ed Reed, he is an above average saftey, and has great football instincts. his biggest weakness is he is short and slow. yea, kind of like most of the bills. that said, he's a solid player and is best when he is moved around a ton, which fewell is doing more of. im OK with Perry at HC and AVP as OC as long as 1.) we get a real talent evaluator in here (say gabriel from the bears) 2.) get a real QB unless Fitz shows he can stop throwing INTs (for his career he is in the red, and this year is no different) 3.) trade Marshawn/roscoe for whatever we can get
-
he is NOT leinart. leinart never had any arm strength and can't take a hit. i think tebow can definitely stand in there, take a hit and deliver the ball. remember, jimbo threw more than his share of picks. also, it be nice to ahve a qb that can sense pressure once in awhile. haven't had that since Trent part I. he's also not jarmarcus russell because he can actually make a touch throw and fit in the short/intermediate range stuff. his biggest weakness, IMO is 1.) can he play in cold weather 2.) can he become more accurate throwing out route 3.) can he learn to stay in the pocket a little more. he has enough arm strength, and decent accuracy, he really needs some polishing on throwing quick slants and outs - really fitting the ball in a small window
-
agreed... on bills teams alone you have great players such as frank reich, london fletcher, pete metzelars, don beebe, mark kelso, etc. thurman thomas and jim kelly both are vocal about it now, especially jimbo's wife. you may not agree with their beliefs, but a lot of guys who are winners in this league are, and its worth noting that coaches as such seem to attract those kinds of players - see vermiel with fletcher, warner and bruce. or tony dungy for that matter and his assitant coaches - howard mudd, reich, metzelars, herm edwards,e tc.. emmitt smith, steve largent, mike singletary, kurt warner, chris carter, chris spielman, derrick brooks, shaun alexander... lets throw Turner Gill in there, just for fun too (who i think should be interviewed for the Bills HC job). im only vocal about this because i grew up going to church with Brett Kern who is currently the punter for the Titans, and his dad is a pretty active FCA leader and i have noticed a pattern in some franchises where this attitude has resulted in winning (bucs and colts most notably).

the book is significantly better. i wated Oher or Orakpo. I let brandon have it while I was at the draft screaming after the maybin pick. real smart. way to work that one through .i put it on jauron still. brandon doesn;t know what he's doing. we lal know DJ had a lot of say in personnel moves. move maybin to OLB please. he will finally succeed. he is BUILT for an OLB in a 3-4

dude you are ridiculous. they built a mecca of a baseball stadium and where has that gotten them? just look at the bluejays to see how the bills would do long term there. you are going to try and bring ANOTHER sport that isn't one of their own there and say they'll be the most profitiable team in the league? ha ha ha... never will make more than the cowboys, steelers, bears, pats, jets, giants or eagles... not even close. Toronto is a bad fit for the NFL. period. end of story. It's a bad fit for baseball frankly. They have marketed the crap out of the jays, the skydome was revolutionary in 88, and ever since 94 its all been downhill. maybe other canadians on here can back me up - but toronto sports scene has become all about corporations - the leafs, jays, raptors all bow to the almighty club seats and suites. Sabres/Bills fan's dont understand this because we are insulated from it in our region. those teams charge a lot, bring in below average fans, and put out a below average product to keep revenue going (i think this will change with hte leafs, however not iwth the raptors or jays anytime soon). toronto may has as much money as many cities in america, but its not an AMERICAN city. Another hockey team there might do more good finanically then the Bills. Even those Canadiens who are die hard fans realize if Rogers buys the team - they won't be able to afford to go to the games just like they can't afford to go to Leafs games. Future scenario : Ralph gives it a good run until 97. Bills in Toronto runs out. Jaguars, Vikings, chargers or raides move to LA (most likely raiders). The ownership team of Jacobs, Bob Rich, Mark Hamister, Jim Kelly, etc buy the bills (Jacobs is primary with the others minority). Jimbo is ownership group liason/consultant with GM/Football operations. Bills win superbowl sometime before I die.

Report: Bruins Owner Jeremy Jacobs Looking At Bills Buyout?
rpcolosi replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WTF!!!! he has a 20% share in NESN? i'm sorry but he is an effing genious... if he were to sell that and the bruins he'd be netting close to the $600 the canadians are getting. Basically - the better the Red Sox do, the more his stock goes up. friggin genius of a businessman. -
Report: Bruins Owner Jeremy Jacobs Looking At Bills Buyout?
rpcolosi replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
jacobs is cheap but he brought in Zedno Chara for a butt load. He is smart, in that they traded thorton and got BETTER. and, since they have implemented a salary cap his teams have always be competitive and he spends to the limit. his "cheap" reputation came in the mid 90s when no one went to bruins games and he wasn't going to pump money into a product that no one was supporting. thats called intelligence. he is most likely jim kellys "source." thats been my thinking for awhile. either that or one of the riches. jacobs would own them AND still get revenue sharing, of which he didnt have in Boston, as well as no stadium debt. I think he'd be just suitable ot own the bills. if toronto ticket sales keep sucking i think its plausible we dont need to worry about moving there... they would be stupid to even ask us to play more games there. -
Fewell does the unthinkable!!!
rpcolosi replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
nope. I'd be just fine with it... IF they get a serious football guy in here to run the FO. I'm even ok with AVP running the offense if he can have a few more showings like last weeks. if AVP can get ryan fitzpatrick to throw for almost 300yds then he is worth his weight in gold. -
cant find anything on that website about finding the team.

Say what you want about Ralph
rpcolosi replied to billnutinphoenix's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he doesn't meddle, i dont know where you hear that from. he is the anti-jerry jones and anti-dan snyder - those are owners who are hands on and get in the way of things... RW is 91, he's old. he wants to meet with the coach once every few weeks in detroit. thats about it. he's pretty much as hands off as you can get... now jeff littman and jim overdorf..... thats a different question. -
Say what you want about Ralph
rpcolosi replied to billnutinphoenix's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
its also not as if the coordinators we hired were bad - williams and mularkey were both huge names out there. the only really bad hire was jauron. don't get me wrong, hes a solid DC and a good "teacher of men" but we had to know better.... -
Jerry Sullivan circular logic
rpcolosi replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
gosh if people listen to sullivan on Shannahan over Schefter they are just dumb. consider the facts and the sources - schefter knows shanny VERY well. Sullivan? he knows some guy at a bar at cole's. i like his writing style, but cmon. the guy works for the buffalo news.. not exactly a springboard to national prominence. (unless your Vic Carucci, Jim Kelley, Tim Graham, etc etc) -
Why haven't the Bills signed a OL Yet...
