1.) never saw the movie, but read the book, so yes, i learned to read a long time ago. 2.) all he did in the best conference in college football was this: Was a First Team Freshman All-America and SEC All-Freshman choice in 2005 Garnered All-America honors each of his last two seasons and All-SEC accolades in his final three won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy in 2008 as SEC best linemen 3.)and since you cut and paste from NFL.com : positives : Prototypical left tackle build. Has good height and excellent athleticism. Unlike some left tackles, he has girth in his lower body. Uses his long arms to his greatest advantage, locking onto the jersey to nullify the pass rush of defensive ends. Gets into his pass set quickly and has very good lateral movement. Not fooled by dancing on the line. Shows the feet to pull inside, get to either shoulder to position block and nullify linebackers outside on screen passes. Sustains and mirrors as long as possible and will play through the whistle. Improved as a run blocker as a senior. Began to play with more aggression and physicality at the second level. An ascending talent who should only get better. Has gained experience as a celebrity due to the success of best-selling novel, "The Blind Side" and is potentially better prepared for the glamour of being a high pick. 4.) aaron schobel is pretty quiet and he's worked out pretty darn good for us. passion isn't shown in your demeanor. its shown on the field where he dominates. the proof is/was/will be in the game film. end of discussion. I suppose you can defend the Maybin pick as having not nearly as many question marks as Oher. His character must be flawless too, i mean he only hangs with Ray Lewis and Lavar Arrington. Good, upstanding guys. exactly more of what we need on this squad. i was at the draft and there were 2 guys at positions of need worth taking at that spot - oher and orakpo. naturally DJ took the most likely to be a bust with the pick. might as well continue the trend..

his background being he was built like a freak? being that he was one of the highest regarded OL coming out of HS next to orlando pace? his background being he was raised (from HS on ) with morals and stayed away from drugs and alcohol? yea... the bills couldn't use a guy like thato n this team friggin idiot

not a billionaire... and shcokingly, if ALL he cared about is money, why not sell while he is alive and do something with it? instead of when he is dead? riddle me that... still waiting for everyone who says Ralph is SOOOO greedy, to explain why thats the case if he is never at ANY point going to see the money? he'd be GREEDY if he did what Modell did and sold the team for a boat load of cash, or if he was Al Davis and moved the team here or there based on stadium contracts. Ralph is a lot of things, tightwadded, old, maybe even senile... but he is NOT greedy.

build a good OL and get a 2nd receiver and brohm or trent should be fine. not great but fine. we will have a good running game if Freddie is starting, Lee with Hardy on the outside and steve johnson in the slot isn't bad. FA should focus on any decent RT or LT and another OLB, though I do like having draft around. he's not flashy, but he's pretty consistent. secondary is good. if schobel doesn't come back, we are effed. He is, despite what anyone on this board says, a game changer. you have to plan for a DE that can consistently get pressure. that's our biggest fear. hopefully a coach like Frazier can coax Schobel into staying, cause that's where we are heading....

I think we're gonna get Marty...

With half the injuries, we were at least a .500 team

Put Trent behind the Jets O-line and he is throwing for 18-25 for 225yds every game. the guy isnt bad but whne you have no time you DUMP THE BALL OFF. we need a freaking o-line... -
bingo. winning changes everything. we are not the raiders. ralph is not changing coaches every year (like al davis). sure good players dont want to come here. smae is true of the sabres. why come ot a small, cold city on a lake over san diego or houston? we'd all be the same way if we weren't from here. the key is drafting and PAYING those guys. Pat williams is CASE AND POINT. pat comes up with us, wnats to stay, TD lets him walk. Pat Williams owned a home here and a car shop. He didn't want to leave. he likes buffalo. once you are here, you respect it. it's getting people here. the best ways - trade and draft. that is how Polian built us nad that is how Nix will do it. I actually didnt want cowher or shannahan. I did want Marty, but that won't happen. I'd be very happy with a Frazier/Al Saunders combo. I'd also be happy with the Montreal HC or Grimm. A hard nosed coach that demands respect is key. but drafting and talent wins you football games and that makes everything better...

Free agents: the other shoe that will soon drop.
rpcolosi replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
there's an old saying... winning changes everything. during hte glory days, most guys were drafted or traded for. look at the colts, they rarely, rarely build through FA. we draft well, we start winning in a weak AFC east, and things change. thats what we need. -
Whoever is the new coach should look at Ted Cottrell for DC
rpcolosi replied to gfalk87's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he was fired along with all those head coaches except in SD. In addition, his defenses with the bills were always top 6 and he was able to run both the 4-3 (with the jets) and 3-4 (bills and chargers). his pass defenses are somewhat questionable but his front 7 is always good. perhaps another DC worth looking at is Jerry Gray. Im not a 4-3 fan but his defenses under Williams were solid, especially pass defenses. perhaps a combination of the two would work well. -
this begs the question: WHO THE FCK IS JOE LOGAN? this guy was a nobody 3 days ago... and if he is the Joe Logan from Philadelphia, why is his stuff coming up through East Auror.org of all places? smells like teen spirit aka BS...

article: Colt McCoy is "mobile Brian Brohm"

LefFevour would be ideal in round 2. he's a good decision maker, plays in cold weather, is a "buffalo" guy... i hope they recognize this. -

it's touchette... please make a note of it -
which is exactly why it wont happen... as much as we all want it to.

according to clark judge on peters trade: a first- and fourth-rounder in this year's draft and a sixth-rounder in 2010. if it is conditional I'd like for someone to pass that along.
-
also - since there are not other coaching vacancies we should take our sweet time with this and let Buddy be as thorough and all encompassing as possible. We are in a good position in this regard...

nfl rules stipulate you have to fly there over a bye week? or is that just common sense because of preperation? not to mention, teams take 1 or 2 days off during these bye weeks to rest guys. i suppose coaches don't stop planning though. i'm well aware of the NFL mandate of when to interview playoff teams. I'll agree that its a courtesy and he has a game plan to assemble which makes sense as well. but for hte record the only person to come ot buffalo for an interview is Fewell. all the others have been outside OBD.
-
bulaga. not the other two. tebow in round two.
-
completely agree. these teenage and 20yr old kids need to get some common sense. you interview the BEST people out there. Frazier is one of them. So is Grimm. So is harbaugh. If the bills are smart they interview 5-6 guys over hte next week or so. No one else has a HC opening. why rush this?
-
ok, does anyone else think it weird we are flying everywhere to interview coaches instead of them coming here? is this the practice of other organzations too? seems to me ralph could save some money flying guys to buffalo. or does he, gulp, not consider the city in winter time a selling point? i know this is kind of a strange thread, but other then flying to court cowher, it makes no sense to me why the are flying to see frazier on a bye week. if he wants it, his ass can come down here. we're offering a multi million job, not the other way around. this method of hiring sounds very much like brandon's work... i mean - how do you get teh sense of an organization when you DON'T come to the friggin building? and you don't see the facilities, the offices, get a sense of the tradition and history? where is he interviewing these guys? over dinner? in a hotel?

Nix and Modrak get credit for the lineman DJ gets credit for maybin.
