I agree with sullivan from eary on this year - he was the most impactful bill we had, and him coming back was more impt then TO. we should trade him if he wants to retired. trade him to the 'boys or texans. the guy has game and deserves to be on a winning team. maybe the Colts if Polian will give us anything...

Anybody consider Kellen Clemens?
rpcolosi replied to muddy waters's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
never gave it any thought. he didn't exactly have a great showing as a jet, though he has a decent skill set. doubt they'd part with him at this point in Sanchise's career. in addition, not sure we want to develop a team around him. seems a lot like tyler thigpen to me. -
You are correct, it doesn't match up with the title..Touchette! the title was more a mockery of someone else's post saying he is NOT the answer and asking us to stop discussing him. my point is simply he is a prospect we should consider and certainly not stop discussing. In fact, I'd venture to say he is someone we should focus a lot more on then say Casey Clausen, McCoy or Bradford.

North's MOP : http://www.cm-life.com/2010/01/30/lefevour...at-senior-bowl/ Stock way up against top BCS talent : http://bleacherreport.com/articles/336422-...tock-up-or-down dallasnews.com: Dan LeFevour of Central Michigan showed the best arm and throwing mechanics of the three North quarterbacks. Cincinnati's Tony Pike has something, but Oregon State's Sean Canfield has limited arm strength. sure - he struggled like EVERY OTHER QB during the week of practice, as documented. He showed up at game time and made some excellent throws against some good competition. I'm not saying he is the answer, but in rounds 2 or 3 he's a better value then Clausen in round 1 (so help me God if I hear more people on here say how good he is. the thought of him makes me wanna puke. He is brady Quinn part Deux). McCoy's arm is weak. Bradford's will continue to decline, and Pike, though he has a cannon looked horrible in the game. I know its one game, nothing to get excited about, but the kid looked good against SEC top teir talent. He can play in snow and cold weather, and his conference has a history of producing good QBs (Pennington, Rothelisberger, Leftwhich, etc).

same was said of Aaron Curry who had a decent, but not stellar 1st season. And he had 2 stub LBs on either side of him. Cushing ended up being the best in his class (at least rookie year). obviously its a little early to make a call on that, but curry and mcclain are very similar types of guys and in reality are probably best suited playing OLB in a 3-4 where they can rush the passer or run blitz a lot - kind of like merriman. -
this is who i thought originally it would be too. not sure if Urban is ready to let him go at this point or not, but he'd be a good choice. Clancy would be fine too. So would Cottrell. Just not Jim Bates. I'm not sure he is the answer, though I am starting to think an all out switch to a 3-4 isn't the answer, at least short term. a hybrid would be good while we still have mostly personnel for a 4-3.

Canadian Press Reports George Cortez QB coach
rpcolosi replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes sir... goes to show these guys aren't leaving any stone unturned. And he has a history at least of being an OC and developing pro level QBs so that is a plus... hard to get excited over a QB coach, but its not a bad move. -
Canadian Press Reports George Cortez QB coach
rpcolosi replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i like it... boller would have been better if he wasnt thrown right into the fire and didnt have billick as HC. billick really wasn't the qb master everyone (ie the media) made him out to be. interestingly he was a coach in montreal when Polian and Marv both were... -
Nix Gets Nice Slam On "Whitey"....
rpcolosi replied to BillsPhan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
id say being partly responsible for drafting 20+ probowlers in SD qualifies as doing something. but hey, maybe i'm splitting hairs... -
yea the rich family is quite wealthy. the only problem wiht your logic of him "squeezing pennies" is that it absoluteyl does him no good. none. if he actually cared about being loaded and having millions of dollars, he'd sell the team while he was alive and spend the money. he is not doing that. though im sure money plays a role in how he runs the team, it si important to realize he is NOT independently wealthy - not like bob Rich, or Golisano or Jacobs. His value IS the bills. therefore he can not afford the luxury of a high priced coach or huge signing bonuses because he can not replenish his wealth. it comes right form his piggy bank. im by no means saying he is poor or we should feel like he is just getting bye. but what i am saying is his lack of external revenue streams is very indicative in how he has to operate the team. again, i really do believe it will come down to the highest bidder, and hopefully that ends up being between us and toronto. if LA is out of it, it seems very plausible the NFL, especially with Goodell would be more likely to support a bid to keep the franchise in its home city if the owner is indeed wealthy enough to pay market value - which it is clear those 4 potential owners could do. I just am shocked at how Kraft, Snyder, etc act like huge big wigs when in reality their independent wealth is significantly less then WNY's 3 wealthiest persons... and i haven't even looked beyond GOlisano in rochester. I would believe someone with Kodak, Xerox, Baush and Lomb would have similiar finances to Jacobs and Rich. lets hope for hte LA Rams or LA Raiders... I don't think Toronto will be as likely as once thought...and lets give Ralph props - that deal has pretty much been all buffalo (financially at least, its certainly been anti-bills on the field)...
-
thats actually not correct. Golisano is on record for saying he has personal interest in the Bills staying in WNY: http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d8...mp;confirm=true rich I cant find anything, and the rumors about Jacobs wanting an NFL franchise have been going on for years : http://buffalo.bizjournals.com/buffalo/sto.../02/story2.html "It would be something I might be interested in. It's a great product." - Jacobs and the whole cheap thing might change with a salary cap in place and more extensive revenue sharing then the NHL. notice how the bruins became more competitive once the NHL salaray cap was in place?

sounds a little homo...

So I'm looking at the fobres 400 richest americans and guess what I find out: Bob Rich is worth more then these "big market" owners (and is younger then most) - Robert Kraft (Patsies), Arte Moreno (LA Angels, MLB), Arthur Blank (Falcons), Ed DeBartolo (former 49ers owner), Bob McNair (texans), Jim Irsay (Colts), DAN SNYDER (Redskins), Jeffery Lurie (Ealges) not to mention his brother, David Rich, is a minister worth 1.5billion who doesn't appear to be one living a "lavish" lifestyle with that kind of bank. I'm just saying... Finally, Jeremy Jacobs and Golsiano are both in between a lot of these owners. Bottom line - I don't understand why the media keeps saying there is no one in buffalo able to buy and keep the team here. I see right there 4 possible owners who would be willing to keep the team in the city, not to mention any other possible investors interested in keeping them here. it be nice to see an actual journalist do an article on these men and their ties to the city and interest in keeping the team here. I am confident Jacobs, Rich and Golisano would all certainly be interested in owning the franchise, with Rich possibly being the best owner of the bunch. http://www.forbes.com/lists/2009/54/rich-l...ans_Rank_8.html

that offense run by dick encourage NOT turning the ball over - ie don't throw downfield, into coverage, and check down unless its a gimme. i do in fact think that Fitzpatrick throwing more downfield had less to do with him as a QB and a lot more to do with DJ not having the final say on play calling. I very much agree in that I'd like to see trent get some solid coaching out of Gailey. In no way would that upset me. I'm also not against AVP coming back as a QB coach. He still has a lot of potential to become a good OC someday, getting thrown into the fire shouldn't ruin him just like I hope it didn't ruin Fewell (who will be an awesome HC). GO BILLS!!!!

ESPN Truth and Rumors: Buffalo and Vick

exactly... it is not "modrak's draft" nor has he been running it. the people running it were - Donahoe, Marv and Russ. Sure he is head of college scouting but he had some big honcho's above him. It would be a mistake to fire one of our most well respected talent evaluators simply because he has never been in position to always get "his" guy.
-
funny without listening to Joe D or WGR this is what I've wanted with a DT/LB/DE in round 2
-
funny how he points out all the blunders under Modrak, yet doesn't give any props to the fact that the year Buddy Nix came back to the organization we hit 3 out of 4 in the first 2 rounds... hearing that Modrak wanted Cushing over Maybin, also makes you wonder how much RW or DJ had to play... I know this has been talked about at length on here, but figured if Sully is going to bash modrak for "his drafts" as the irishman puts it, then he sure as heck better give credit to our best draft class in awhile thanks to Buddy...

Offensive line or QB with first pick?
rpcolosi replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
completely 100% agree... OL in 1st or 2nd and either DE/DT/LB with the other. In addition - Lefeuver in 3rd is fine. If we draft Tebow in 1st or sign Vick as qb, then the following line will suffice, due to them being lefties: LT - Levitre, LG - Wood, C- Hangartner, RG - Incognito, RT - _____ (not bell or butler) depth - Bell, Butler, Simmons if our QB is McNabb or TE then this wouldn't work being that I don't think Levitre would hold up all year against opposing teams best pass rushers. in this draft scenario we then take OL in first round and Lefeuver in the 3rd to groom behind McNabb or Trent Part Deux. -
your name is also brian billick - you immediately lose cred there...
-
you plug the biggest hole of all with McNabb, if even for 2-3 years. that gives time for a guy like Trent or Brohm to actually learn from a pro-bowl QB. this is how great qb's are developed - by sitting behind seasoned vetrans. one of the only guys it didn't work for was Losman. This is how E. manning, Pennington, Palmer, Rodgers, Rivers, Kolb, etc all developed. Going the route of Flacco, Rothelisberger, Ryan is more unpredictable. a 2nd and 4th for McNabb for 2-3 years with Trent/Brohm behind him or another developing QB. Get a RT or LT in the 1st round and LBs in 3rd and FA. It would hurt us most in not getting a DT or DE which we could really use. But this at least gives us a QB who can win a game for us, which we have not had since, oh well we all know when...
