new stadium?? be careful what you ask for...
rpcolosi replied to rpcolosi's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
PTR I agree with you on a lot, btu not this. do you honestly think a new stadium will increase bills revenues?!?! Brandon has tapped every resource for a sponsor - from Xerox and M&T to baush and lomb. About the only one I haven't seen with their name on the bills is HSBC and Kodak, and i know those two heavily sponsor other sports franchises. I can't see where this "new revenue" stream will come from if we get a new stadium. We had trouble in the early 00's until brandon came on selling our boxes as it was. Unless we somehow start drawing corporations from Hamilton area, I dont see us getting any more competition for our boxes or clubs suites. if they did build a new stadium, I'd hope for it to be bigger actually. 80,000 with similar ticket prices and allowing the 10,000 extra seats to generate more income as opposed to raising fees beyond capacity to support. -
this is to all those young bucks out here who want a new stadium to be like every other city. i whole heartedly disagree for multiple reasons. the first, we have one of hte oldest AFC stadiums left and it be nice to maintain it and every 10 or 15 years give it a big rehab like Soldier or LAmbeau field. 2nd, it be nice once RW is passed on to rename it Rich STadium the way it was and is and should always be. Finally, the seating arrangement. no where else in the NFL (or very fewp laces) can people like everyone on here afford good seats and good tickets and be on top of the action. Have you guys been to these new stadiums? It costs an arm an a leg to get decently close (ie not below the third tier). When the bills and jets both sucked in 2008 i still had to spend 200 total for 50 yard line seats in the 2nd tier at the meadowlands. that place is a crap hole.... the browns stadium, eagles, ravens, bengals, etc - they are all the same. ive ben to them - they look and feel the exactly same. sure, the upper bowls are closer to the field then the ralph, but thats the ONLY place the average fan can afford to sit. luxury boxes take up all the great seats that we still have thankfully. so do club suites. and any time you build a new stadium prices go up, and our area can't continue to sell out games at an avg ticket price of 75/per. WE need to be smart about this and take some pride in Rich stadium. this is the article that says it best (and he hates buffalo as we all know): http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story.../partone/081121

have you been to hte meadowlands??? ralph is a sh^t ton better. its closest to lambeau, browns stadium, arrowhead, land shark amd qualcomm. our acommodations aren't as nice as those but the seating arrangement is significantly better then most. Sports guy wrote a great article how it is better to watch a game at teh ralph then at say gillete or the linc or one of these trendy "new" sports arenas. upgrade wise - the exterior could use a facelift, dump the club suites as they are hard to sell out, and just make it regular seating. add luxury boxes somewhere else if they ned more revenue. i also ssay leave teh troughs in the men's bathrooms. just something old school about that i'd never want to lose when i have kids coming eventually.

Expect The Bills To Use The Pistol Offense
rpcolosi replied to Happy Days Lois & Clark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LeFeovur is the real deal.... sorrry bradford won't cut it in the nfl. -
becasue they are not any. that guy was totally of. ILB are around 245 and OLBs vary more in a 3-4 from 230s-260s. We will be able to use ellis, and maybin as pass rushing OLBs only, not more so in coverage. Not sure where this leaves schobel though. I actually started to like ellison last year. the guy is getting better. perhaps we trade him. otherwise, i can't see him anywhere but in a coverage 3-4 spot or backup for ILB. but he would be a solid backup behind Poz and Mitchell. predicted LBs for us as of now - Maybin ___ Mitchell____ Poz___ Schobel.... and this is assuming Maybin learns how to cover a RB or TE which in no way am I convinced he can. but schobel is really best suited played the 7 tech closer to the line as a pass rusher only. we will see, these guys have a plan...

if not McNabb, then TE with LeFevouer being groomed. -
What Chan and Buddy Are Doing Right Now
rpcolosi replied to yungmack's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually we are putting "a lot of faith" in a GM who has drafted 20+ probowlers as Asst GM and a HC who hired such "no names" as Les Miles and Mike Zimmer in his prior NFL HC gig. Pretty sure those track records speak for themselves... stop sipping the Jerry sullivan/WGR kool aid bro!!! -

brady played at Michigan, in a cold weather climate. He had already proven he can play in this environment. TE, JPL, RJ they all were from and PLAYED in warm weather climates. I'm all for a MAC or Big 10 qb personally. Lefover, Troy Smith, etc. But not Pennington. HE can't throw an out pattern to save his life anymore and he's even less mobile then Bledsoe. that's hard to do...

Quicker Turn Around Than most think
rpcolosi replied to Beastly Dareus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
i think oyu over value whitner and roscoe by a lot. whitner might get a 5th and roscoe won't get anything better then a 7th. i also dont think the draft falls any where close tow hat you predict. and yobouty is a great 4th CB so you definitely don't get rid of him. -
OH GOD NO!!! THE BILLS FOUND A NEW QB!
rpcolosi replied to Bill Cowher's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
replace fitz with edwards.... when will people look at the numbers and see just how much worse Fitz is then TE? there is no, zero, zilch upside with Fitz. Trent has upside potential (to use a basketball term).... -

look at his game log... His best games were against teams that ran a 3-4 if I'm not mistaken...though I'm not sure when the jets started running a 3-4, I think it was before Ryan got there. but correct me if I am wrong. certainly the chargers and phins both were running it htat year. he had his BEST games against a 3-4. So 1.) gailey can game plan against it and 2.) thigpen has already proven he can do what an Edwards under Jauron couldn't and thats throw for 300plus against a 3-4... I'm not necessarily in favor of saying he is hte answer, but he certainly gives off the notion he is cut from the Jeff Garcia cloth. http://www.nfl.com/players/tylerthigpen/ga...amp;season=2008 -
It's a good staff with a great blend of college and NFL experience. I'm very happy. especially wiht Cortez. awesome find. looks like gailey did his due dilligence in searching people out. I trust him in taking Edwards over a retread like bates....

2 things... 1st did OSU, UofM or PSU have any good NTs draft worthy this year? 2nd - Pat williams may "retire." what are the odds Buddy can talk him into 1 more year with the bills? does anyone know his contract status with the vikings?

Bills offer assistant GM to Doug Whaley
rpcolosi replied to shaker4187's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it's less the players he can bring in (for now) and more important his ability to SCOUT other teams. How many times did we hear from Trent, Lee, etc - we just weren't prepared for the 3-4 or what they threw at us. This guy has a track record of being successful at least in this category as based on the steelers success the past 5-6 years. We forget, its not just coaching - its getting game plans prepared and part of that is advance scouting. besides being horrible at finding Free Agents, Guy was atrocious at preparing us for upcomign teams. at the very least we should improve in this area. in terms of his scouting ability? Id rather see him learn from nix and modrak at this point, and possible bring in another 1 or 2 guys for the FO - be it scouts, personnel directors, etc. in some ways - this could be ralph "opening the bank." we have had a notoriously shoe string front office these past few years, and it be good to see RW invest some serious $$$ into good personnel men and scouts and increasing us in that department, as well as in coaching staff. as a friend at ESPN tells me - coaches are worth paying big bucks to because you know they are never going on IR... -

PFT is Florio right? ugh this guy bothers me a ton. Nice to see whoever this DB "insider" is really doesn't know squat. I have a feeling a LOT more people like Buddy in this league then we are lead to believe.... -
If this scenario plays out it is Bluaga no questions asked. Bradford has injury issues and we are still better off value wise with a guy like LeFevouer in the 2nd or 3rd. A Tackle of Bulaga's ability is not that common.

easily Buddy's best move yet... love it! -
horrible article. matthews has shown over the years he is a moron. clausen and bills at 9th spot ='s bad idea...
-
if i'm not mistaken, Ralph won't have to pay him now as he is being employed by someone else. Can someone else check this?

Answer this as honestly as you can..
