  1. I didn't mention LT, what made you bring that up? with 3 picks Nix has gotten us 3 needs. If you do not consider RB a need, then you are also delusional and under the impression marshawn wants to be here and wants to work hard. In addition - it very well may be D. Bell. By no means am I excited for this. I'm on record on this blog as saying I do not think he will pan out as a LT. however - if our defense can improve from last year, esp against the run, then our team will be in more games in the 4th quarter then it has been of late. also - it is very clear that nix puts his money where his mouth is. to sum it all up, Buddy's first 3 picks have focused on running and stopping the run. name the last bills GM to do that please....
  2. ah I love sully. nothing like jumping the gun and inserting his foot in that big Irish mouth of his (relax I'm irish too). Jerry, I hope you are reading this. As a guy who has a few friends as writers/editors at ESPN its amazing how excellent some of his articels are while some are quite amatuerish for a writer of his longevity. case and point - he insert's foot in mouth with the title alone "team with big needs comes up small again" and then hits a home run with the greir piece. but let's focus on his horrible, quick reaction article on Spiler, Nix and the crew. 1.) the title - well apparently he was too anxious to wait until day 2 when the bills addressed some serious need by adding big bodies across the line, and solid talent at that. Not dan williams (who i also liked) but an excellent run stopper none-the-less 2.) need vs best player - a few days earlier sully writes how he loves hearing Nix say he won't just take a guy to fill a need, a change of tune from past regeimes. He then goes on to trash this one saying how he was shocked we didn't fill a position of need and instead made a "luxury" pick. What happened to taking the best guy on the board, all be it, the best at his position in the draft?!? Tell me the last time the Bills picked the BEST guy at the position in any draft?? Bruce Smith? 3.) excitement - Sully also implies Nix made this move to sell tickets... HUH?! If he had wanted to appease the masses (ie TBD and the retarded caption of WGRS "Quest for a QB") then he would have taken crowd pleaser Casey Clausen. Instead he did the opposite and chose a guy who is exciting AND can help us win, something that is all anyone wants. Not that Clausen can't, but Clausen is easily the bigger ticket item then Spiller. All in all - sullivan has one good article for every bad one he writes. It is clearly apparent his disdain for Nix, which I find comical because Nix appears to have outsmarted sullivan at a few press conferences already. Not bad for a GM who claims to not always be the smartest guy in the room...
  3. wait wait wait = you are speaking rationally... you must not be on TBD...
  4. cody has a lot of off field / weight issues. id much rather have a guy at 315 who is a bull with long, strong reach. its a solid pick - a lot of guys thought he'd go in round 2 just because of his size. others said round 5. just like clausen - mel, mcshay, etc only their opinions...
  5. exactly.... but it makes more news to throw out clausens name
  6. thats the trade i am thinking too. makes a lot of sense. id like to see it happen and see spiller START
  7. in case you missed it - we have a division thats really deep with WRs - ie the phins and pats. it's a very smart pick. the jets' only other big need is depth at LB. they are head to toe a very solid team. maybe another TE. but they don't need anymore WRs, RBs, OL, DL, etc. they could use a NT to groom behind Jenkins - but a great Nickel CB is smart. the bills would be so lucky...
  8. saffold is the right pick at 41 if he is there. It's a no brainer. and if we can get Lefevouer in the 3rd I'd be quite happy. If brandon Spikes really lasts until the 4th he'd be a steal and a great guy to groom to replace Andra Davis in a year or two. Plus - he'd have one hell of a chip on his shoulder. my dream top three prior to this draft was - 1.) Spiller 2.) Dan Williams (obviously didnt happen) and 3.) Lefeouver. If we get Saffold at 41st it's a success.
  9. Totally agreed.... I can not say how much i LOVE LOVE LOVE this pick. I was at the draft last year and devastated when we took Maybin. This is a home run pick. When you have guys like Marshall Faulk and Barry Sanders saying you are a great back, that says something. I don't care how negative Sully or Sully Jr want to be (sorry TG, normally love your articles, but lately been sounding too much like you're sitting next to Sully at press conferences, cmon you're a far better writer them him!) about this pick - it's a no brainer. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-draft/09000d...ls-take-Spiller
  10. Um "fall farhter behind" - did you watch him play last year? the guy is not better then a healthy keith ellison and I am dead serious. He has good pass rusher instincts but little speed in the open field. he'd be a bad, bad option as an OLB in a 3-4 at his age. we'll see how rex uses him.
  11. he actually had the job originally but was sick the beginning of the year and never got it back. he is at least as good Flacco but there is no reason for them to disrupt a solid offense. his numbers were good the prior year. he doesn't ahve the height or necessarily as strong a cannon as flacco, but he moves around better in the pocket and from watching both they both ahve similar abilities to read downfield. flacco is a LOT like rothelsiberger early on - not a big stat guy, not throwing a lot of passes, instead they run a fair amount and win with defense. thatsh ow you win with young qb's and thats what chan/buddy are aiming for.
  12. dan morgan? pretty sure he's already in the nfl, is white, and is a mlb...
  13. NO! there si no alcohol there except in a special VIP section for the press. It's complete BS. bring a few flasks, they serve virgin daquiris that we mixed vodka into. and yes - my friend I went with was a 6'6 seahawks fan, and we were both wasted, thus allowhing him to be on TV and screaming when they got Aaron Curry.
  14. obviously its different this eyar with the 3 days, but last year we came on friday night at midnight and waited in line for a pass that then allowed us to get a ticket for sat/sunday. I'd assume they will do the same this year, but starting thursday night? other then that, its jsut a long wait in line with a 500-1000 people. bring a book, some food, or beer in kuzi's to pass the time... hwoever if you bring beer, bring something to piss in. yes you read that right. i ended up stealing some other random Bills fan's gatorade container to leak into.
  15. moorman is hte man! don't be talking bad about him like that... i am thrilled he and schobel are the best bills of the 00s.. now its time to move on...
  16. love it... +++++++ 1
  17. didn't see this posted, so if it is, please delete. http://www.profootballweekly.com/2010/04/0...e-possibilities
  18. he's not good for starters. he is also not good value at 9, and in that case we should attempt to trade down or take a more NFL ready prospect - Brandon Graham, Dan Williams if still there, etc. We have a lot of positions of need, and frankly I'd be OK with TE running this show for another year if need be, before reaching for Clausen who won't be the next Flacco or Matt Ryan. In addition, Jason Campbell would be a great addition. I'd be willing to give up a 3rd or 4th on him, ship off whitner maybe? i mean, he was rumored to be going to Washington. and on that note - lets all end the "trade marshawn" crap. the guy has game, why would we trade one of our few bright spots for a 4th? Freddie is NOT necessarily the better, more talented back. It's a nice problem to have on a team that has way too many issues.
  19. totally agreed.... "drat specialist" ????? He was a propersonnal guy! -1 for the original poster for not knowing fact.
  20. i like a guy who can stand up to the criticism, not gonna lie. get him here!
  21. thanks for saying what i felt necessary to say... all the best to dungy and tebow.
  22. exactly... he is much like sproles and not roscoe.. plus my guess is gailey can get a kid like this to produce
