Because people are soft in todays world

There’s no question that some of these close games could have easily gone the other way. I think the bigger point is why are they close to be determined the way they are. In this games case, it was a shame that Allen threw the pick before the half. Could have been 17-0 or 21-0 at the half and getting the ball. Could have came out in the 2nd half with a McDermott style ground and pound offense and taken a good 8 minutes off the game clock. Would have really helped seal the game. Again, it sucked that Allen threw the pick, however imo it looked like McD really changed his defensive philosophy after that. Played a more bend but don’t break style of defense. All a prevent defense does is prevents the other team from scoring quickly. Unfortunately there was a ton of time left and imo was the wrong way to go about it. I also believe with Hyde being out it hurt them as well. Bit that’s an issue that should have been foreseen by the HC and GM prior to the season imo. To expect Hyde coming back from a serious neck injury at his age was not likely. Actually he’s done better and played more than I expected but I don’t think they should have expected anything. A bigger issue is how much Poyer has dropped off the face of the earth. He’s been virtually invisible all year. To sign him to a 2 year deal was not a good idea. I wanted Rapp but he hasn’t looked as good as I hoped he would. But hes likely going to be back next year. At least I hope, because if he’s not, that means McD is going to draft 2 safeties pretty early in the upcoming draft imo.

The "McDermott Handicap" and hopefully a solution
mrags replied to peterpan's topic in The Stadium Wall
You hit it with bad situational awareness. Like you said he should have been creaming in his pants to run it and didn’t. Maybe it was Brady. Maybe it was McD. Either way it’s on McD to make sure that’s what the call is there. I get that it was a high % play to Diggs that didn’t go well. But then you’re in a hole and need to pass. Should have been a run on first down. Or at least an RPO where Allen can diagnose what’s best based on the defensive looks. I said it in an other thread. We won and I give him credit for it. It felt really good and we were the better team all game. But man it kinda felt lucky too with how things played out at the end of the game. I’ve been saying it for a while now. This season will all come down to Allen. Can he rise up and win despite the defense and his HC stealing away games. Sucks that it has to be all on him. But it does. -
I wouldn’t go that far. But maybe they see it as we won, but man it kind felt like at the end that we almost gave it to them. Kinda lucky at the end the way things turned out. But with 2 TOs and over a minute left, I have no doubt we would have went down the field and “had a chance” to take the lead again if that was the case.

James Cook's Kamara-esque game...(edit:new discussion on page 4)
mrags replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m really sorry for hijacking a thread. Really I am. I’m glad we got the win. And overall it was a good game. I don’t have many complaints. But I do have complaints about this point. At that point so close to the 2min warning it was finally time to kill some clock and they did the opposite of what I thought they were going to do. I’m not sure who’s to blame. Brady or McD. But the situational awareness was not there in that spot again. back to the topic at hand. Cook played amazing. Not sure why he was taken out of the game plan by the 2nd half. He looked like he could have been on pace for 200+ and 2TDs or more. Kind of a shame -
Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

Omg some people have absolutely no clue. Some of you really think $1B is that big of a deal to these multi billionaire owners, who would have some new city willing to fork over Billions in funding to earn a new stadium. in the same breath talk about it’s no easy to move or revoke a team? You do realize the Colts packed up in the middle of the night once. Then the Browns moved to Baltimore. Then the Rams moved from LA, to STL, back to LA. And we don’t even want to bring up all the moves the Raiders have went through in the last 30 years. Hell, there isn’t a single professional sports team in Oakland anymore once the As officially move. Nothing is off the table. These owners and leagues care about absolutely nothing other than money. You might get the occasional sap like Pegula that wants to own a sports franchise in a certain town. But if he cannot produce for the rest of the league monetarily, he will be asked, or forced to leave for greener pastures. Or the league and its owners will just force him out. owners in leagues get blackballed. It’s a fact. Look at Snyder. Look at Don Sterling. They are all in the good ole boys clubs and if they are not getting along in the league the leagues will find ways to get them out or make it beneficial for them to leave. -

That’s what I want to know. I was told on multiple occasions from multiple reps that it was supposed to be done in the spring. Then the summer. Then the fall. Then in about 2 weeks, about 3 months ago. Just like images of of the virtual concourses, etc. no where to be found. It’s either by design or it’s complete failure on the part of someone. And if I had t had multiple sources tell me on multiple occasions about it happening I would have thought it was by design. I’m not buying that anymore tho. -

Just wait until the new stadium is built if you don’t think these tix are cheap -

This 100%. People need to realize that the people going to games in the modern nfl (not small markets like Buffalo) are through agencies, marketing, etc. the only reason why Buffalobis the way they are is because tix are so cheap that the local fans can buy them the way they are. Once the new stadium is built things will change. It’s a huge reason why the new stadium will have 10,000 less seats than the current one. Because your 20 something year old kids aren’t buying tickets with pizza delivery money anymore. They are gearing tickets to families and more middle aged professionals who spend money vs getting trashed in the parking lots and puking all over themselves in the stadium. -

If you’re planning to get one after the game and plan to head to Big Tree you’ll need to wait at least 90min or 2hr+ for an Uber to get to you at Big Tree. Abbott will be shut down going one direction and traffic diverted one direction as well for a good 90min to 2hr. Waiting it out is your only option if you plan on getting picked up from there.

True true true how about the coaching tho? He can ***** defeat from the jaws of victory like no other. And that’s what the problem is

This is the biggest point to me. Look at both Allen and McDumpy in this argument. without McDoopa, is Allen still a top 2-3 QB in this league? without Allen, is McDork a top 2-3 HC in this league? hell, McDummy isn’t a top 2-3 HC now and that’s with the 2nd Best QB in the league. Without him, McDork would be a 9-8 team and squeezing into the last playoff spot some years. Allen without McClappy would still be a top QB in this league and still winning division titles and putting up perfect games. if you think about it, it tells you everything you need to know about the situation. But people still refuse to believe it. with all that said I don’t think McDonalds Clappy Meal is going anywhere.
-
Many of us can only hope. I still personally don’t believe he’s going anywhere. At least not this year. Unless…. And this is a huge IF. Pegula all the sudden realizes something may be wrong and he has an end of season interview with either everyone, or the key pieces to this team to gather their thoughts on the HC. It MIGHT be a way out. I still doubt it though.

Beane Presser 12.6.23 - interesting comments on Von
mrags replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m hats. It true. You just roll with 1 less at DE and go with Rouse, AJ, Floyd, Lawson, and Jonathan. And use that game day spot on someone else that might actually help. All Von is doing is taking someone like AJ or Floyd, or Rouse off the field more and that’s hurting the defense. -
Pats tickets for sale $400/pair club seats ***SOLD***
mrags replied to mrags's topic in Bills Tickets and Gear
Ok fine. $400 for the pair. Which I’m sure not a single soul here is willing to pay it. But if we somehow rattle off 3 wins and it’s likely for the playoffs it might be another story to someone. If not I’ll just go. Or I’ll take a loss selling on Ticketmaster, likely to some out of town Pats fan. Or, if I can’t get at least face value I’ll give them away to someone I know for a Xmas gift or something. -

But he used to where 58. And if you add up the numbers 40 and 58 you get 98. But to top it off you have a $120m contract. So that would be 218. But then add the felony 3d charge in Texas and you have a sentence of 2-10 years. Since he didn’t assault her with a deadly weapon I’m gonna go on the lower side. So let’s call it 220. That’s where this thread will end. 220 pages. -

Doesn’t mean the league can’t still suspend him tho. And that might be enough to get out from under him -
