That may be true. I think he’s right around 6-8. But I also don’t think there will be 6+ Wars taken in the first round. All it takes is for someone to fall in love with someone larger, or someone faster, someone who has an incredible combine, etc.

Just managed to get this mock done. Multiple times I kept trying to trade back up for the players I wanted but kept being denied. Turns out they fell to me anyway. Only had to give up a 3rd round pick next year for extra picks. 41. Troy Franklin WR Oregon 49. T'Vondre Sweat DT Texas 60. Jackson Powers-Johnson OC Oregon 89. James Williams S Miami (FL) 128. Brenden Rice WR USC 161. Tahj Washington WR USC 197. Kitan Oladapo S Oregon State 201. Marshawn Kneeland EDGE Western Michigan 205. Anim Dankwah OT Howard 252. Brennan Jackson EDGE Washington State 253. Rayshad Williams CB Texas Tech I feel like I walked away with 2 starting WRs within a year or so with another WR being a gadget players in the McKenzie/Harty role as well as a backup to Shakir if he ever goes down. Got our new starting C for the next 10+ years. Starting DT for the foreseeable future. Replacements for both Hyde and Poyer. And some Tackle, corner, and DL depth.

I’ve had that offered a bunch of times. I agree, Seattles outlook for 2024 isn’t too good so these are prime picks. Likely in the mid teens range each round or maybe better. I’d have to say, do the trade but prepare to trade up to get back into the 2nd round 3 times somehow. Might end up with 3 potential studs at positions like WR, DT, OC, S. I’ve tried the trade myself in the mocks. Unfortunately like I said earlier, I am great at trading back and picking up extra picks but I am not so good at trading back up. At least not without giving up more than I like.

I just did a mock controlling no team and just ran it to see how we did. OMG!!! If we had this draft I think I would give up my tickets. 28. Kamren Kinchens S- Miami 60. Darius Robinson EDGE Missouri 99. Junior Colson LB Michigan 128. Javon Foster OT Missouri 158. Isaiah Davis RB South Dakota State 161. Elijah Jones CB Boston College 197. Marist Liufau LB Notre Dame 201. Nelson Ceaser EDGE Houston 205. Jahdae Barron S Texas 245. Mark Perry S TCU the worst part is…. I actually expect a draft like this instead of what everyone else can clearly see, that we need playmakers on offense.

Has anyone done any deep look into Johnny Wilson, Jermaine Burton, Javon Baker, or Tahj Washington yet? @DCOrange. @NewEra

I hate the idea of STers taking up roster spots. It put us in a terrible situation when Bernard went down. Had to expect Klein to cover the best TE in the league when he was a few weeks removed from being on his couch. If instead we had someone that could actually play the LB position we wouldn’t have been forced to do that. But McD seems to live guys like Matakevich who not only take up a roster spot for an actual LB on the roster, he also accounted for $3.5m in cap space. I mean, our special teams sucked anyway so what did he actually do there? Save the money and the spot for someone that can actually play their position. JMO. with that said I know nothing about Liufau so he might be that guy. Idk.

They changed it but changed it right back to the way it’s been after like 1 day. My belief is too many complaints. would absolutely love this draft. Franklin, Rice, and Polk would be huge. Jackson is a beast. Oladepo looks like he could be a late round guy. Looks like the kind of guy we want in the secondary. Only thing I’d do different is if you could trade your 60 and some picks next year to move up for Sweat if possible. But Jackson is for sure a good get there too.
-
My issue is I just don’t see anything special in Legette. Like I said, I’d take a shot at him if all the other WRs are taken away and we don’t have many options left in the 2nd Rd. Or if he’s somehow still there in the 3rd I’d take him. Other than that I just don’t think I want him. just watched tape on Jenkins. Not a terrible watch. He doesn’t seem nearly big and strong enough for me against the run as I think we need tho. We need a monster like Sweat, Jackson, maybe even Smith or Jefferson. Imo if we already take our WR in rd 1 and Sweat is still somehow there in the 40s they should move whatever it takes to get him. Almost every mock I’ve done he always goes by 50-52 if not sooner. I’d say one out of 20 he makes it to is in the 2nd rd. If you can’t get Sweat I think you wait until the 3rd rd or after to get the guy. Exactly where I’m at. Watching him he seems more of a 3T. Better with a pass rush than holding his ground against the run. Just my opinion.

I also believe Thomas will be gone before we pick. I do believe he has it to be a #1 however. Someone will get a really good player there imo. I think Franklin is very good. Would like him there at 28. I think there’s a good chance he’ll be there. Will depend on how FA and then the draft falls for teams in need of a WR. if we’re lucky enough to grab him it’ll be fantastic. I also like Polk. Very good looking tape. Could be that guy for sure. And I don’t think there’s a reason he wouldn’t be there. Might even be able to trade down a few spots for extra picks and take him. Not sure it’ll be worth it to chance it but will have to see how the board plays out in draft day. I think with Franklin being there at 28 it’ll depend on how some guys perform at the combine and who might come out of nowhere to jump in front of him. By all accounts, at the senior bowl Legette and his stock took a dump. But if he lights it up at the combine there’s a chance he climbs back up. He’s one guy I want to stay away from imo. At least in the first round. Probably the 2nd for me also. But it’ll depend on what we do before that and who’s left at that point. after Polk I like Mitchell a lot. Walker a lot. Worthy too but we’d still need a physically demanding receiver along with him. He’s just too slim to be a #1 imo. Dream scenario is if something like Franklin in the 1st, somehow someone like Sweat makes it to the 2nd. Then trade up into the early-mid 3rd for Worthy and be set at those positions for a while. I thought the same thing originally for Franklin regarding his weight. I’ve seen him listed as light as 170 on some sites, to 187 on others. The thought of that is concerning. Looking at him on tape he doesn’t look 170 to me. But not sure he looks closer to 190 either. Regardless, I think he’s going to be very good and would be happy with him at 28.

Well. I can tell you from my experience, I bought tix before the Chiefs game. Opted for some really good seats 26 rows up in the end zone. They were over 8500/tix and I took a huge loss on them because after the first 3 days the market plummeted. The broker I sold them to informed me that if the Bills were in it, expect to pay at least triple. Buying tix before they are in site in it is the way to go or you will have to take out a 2nd mortgage. The risk is not being able to sell them what you paid for them like my situation. But we were asking too much for the first few days. But being during Covid it was extremely screwed up and many different worst scenarios didn’t help.

Did it cost you Josh Allen?

So what I would say is this, the position is definitely a need. So is WR. If Thomas, Franklin are gone by 28 then trade back some spots with someone, pick up an extra 3rd rounder or maybe more. Then take Sweat around the 40s. Leaving your 2nd round pick and the extra 3rd round pick for the best available WRs at that point. Might have a shot at 2 guys like McConkey, Mitchell, Legette, Worthy, Polk, Walker
-
This makes a ton of sense unless you have a WR there that may be the 6th one taken but has all the potential of becoming a true #1 in the future. Just because they might not be ready this season to take the reins as a full time #2, doesn’t mean they couldn’t become a true 1 within the next 2-3 years. IMO that’s what they need to do in this draft, find a guy that can take over as the #1 eventually, pushing Diggs or even a later round WR to #2 in the future. I think guys like Thomas and Franklin are close enough to being ready right away. Guys like Mitchell, Walker, Rice could be that with time.

Right. I had a mock draft in another thread that someone vomitted over. I thought it Was a pretty good draft honestly. Ended up with Franklin, Van Pran, another 2 WRs later in the draft. Some help at S and DT. You’re not sick. With McDermott and his love and need for defensive players to contend, it’s likely imo. Sweat?

The cheapest seats for that one were around 5k if you bought them from the NFL before the teams were decided. Once the teams were decided the prices would determine how out of control they would get. Like I said earlier. If you wait until the Bills are in to buy tickets, you aren’t touching the cheapest seats for less than 10k. Personally I think it’ll be more like 15k but maybe it doesn’t get too out of hand. But my conversations with brokers at the time they are all fully aware of how big a payday it’s going to be if the Bills ever make it.

Don’t worry. I already know he’s got some obsession with me. You won’t be “pegging me” ever

Curious where you stand on Johnny Wilson, Jermaine Burton, and Tahj Washington. All 3 are completely different I feel like. But all have a spot for this team imo. I get that Washington is similar to Corley and slides more into the slot role. At the same time I see the team ridding themselves of Harty and needing not only a backup for Shakir but for the gadget role. I think a late rounder on Washington makes sense. it’s also why I like RB Jawhar Jordan. They have talked about needing more speed and explosiveness, both of these guys have that and both seem to be available in the mid to late rounds of the draft.
-
Feel the same about Worthy. I’d be fine with him if he’s not the Alpha we need, but I’d take him in the 2nd or 3rd rd if he fell and expect him to be the future #2
-
I’m n 2020 I paid just over $8k per seat for great end zone seats. 26 rows up from the field. Dead center of the end zone. Across the way from the pirate ship (not same side). We could have originally bought tix for $4-5k but they were in some nosebleed sections. Thought for sure the best option would be for better seats. Turned out not to be the case.
-
I imagine they will drop to half that or even less the day of. But point being, if the Bills are in it, those prices will never come down. I imagine it’s the deep pockets of San Fran fans that are keeping the prices so lofty still. When I lost money on tix back in 2020 it was the Chiefs and they were just there the year before. Their fans have already been there and done that, they were overpaying for tix at that point. That’s pretty much the info I received from the brokers. If it were the Bills and Lions in the SB expect to pay over 20k a ticket without breaking a sweat. At least in the secondary market. I bought mine directly from the NFL before the secondary prices took off. We tried to sell for triple face value and was told at the time that if we had them up for just over double we would have sold them in the first few days. Unfortunately after the first 3 days the market went to crap and there was a Covid outbreak in Tampa at the time. Really screwed us.
-
I’m guessing you paid that little back in the 90s. You aren’t touching tix for under a few thousand now. Even last minute I feel like it’s not happening.
-
I tried alright. Took a $6k bath on those tix. I’ll say this, if the Bills ever go to the SB I don’t think your touching tix from brokers for any less than 10k a ticket for the cheapest seat in the house. Probably more than $12k to be honest. They know Bills fans are crazy and will pay it. When I went through the process, the broker I sold my tix to knew that if the Bills were in it you could easily expect 3x market value on tix.

Agree 100%. I think in this mock the Pats took MHJ in the first round then went with QB in the 2nd. Might have been why we didn’t have to worry about them. I really like the format of Profootballnetwork.com but one thing I don’t like is you can’t go back and look at the entire draft to see who everyone picked. If you remember right at the end you can pause it and scroll through but it’s not ideal. I think the big WRs that were available at 28 were Mitchell, Legette, McConkey, Worthy, and Franklin. It must have been the Packers who traded with me. I I also had trade downs of 1-3 spots with the Giants and Panthers as well in there. Don’t remember the exact moves. Honestly I’d be good with any of those WRs. I think Franklin and Mitchell have the ability to be future #1s as early as their 2nd year. Putting Diggs at 2 or even tradable/cuttable if need be. If Mitchell or Franklin weren’t there I would have opted for Worthy or McConkey and then went with Devontez Walker, Rice, Polk, Wilson, or Burton to match up with my first choice. Doubling up on them to ensure that at least one of them takes the reins. im not a huge fan of Legette, I just don’t see it. Don’t understand what everyone sees in him honestly. Even the pros say this guy is super fast and I don’t see that either. I watch highlights and never really see him separate and only a few times where he runs away from defenders. If he was there in rd 3 I’d take a flyer on him but I’m not sure I’d go with him before that. Maybe it’s just me idk. Also in this draft I tried to trade back into the early 50s to take Sweat as I think he’s going to be incredible. I tried with the Steelers, Rams, and Raiders. I think the Eagles took him at 53 which I don’t get. They seem pretty stacked at DT from what I remember. went with Van Pran as the heir to Morse. Seen nothing but great things about him. I was hoping to get DT McKinley at 99 but he was taken a few picks ahead of me. I’ll say one thing. I’m great at trading back to get extra picks but I’m not very good at moving up. Missed out on Sweat and then McKinley because I didn’t want to part with any of the extra picks I acquired.

A bunch of trade downs here. Ended up giving up a 4th and 5th in next years draft but ended up taking a haul this year in the process. 41. Troy Franklin WR Oregon 60. Sedrick Van Pran OC Georgia 99. Maason Smith DT LSU 101. Khyree Jackson CB Oregon 107. Jordan Jefferson DT LSU 128. Jermaine Burton WR Alabama 158. Zion Tupuola-Fetui EDGE Washington 161. Tahj Washington WR USC 184. Jawhar Jordan RB Louisville 197. Omar Speights LB LSU 201. Kitan Oladapo S Oregon State 205. Evan Williams S Oregon 245. Clark Barrington OG Baylor 2025 GB 3rd
