And for the record, Steve Tasker doesn’t deserve to be in the HOF either. Before people start bringing that stupid crap up.

If it’s against Mahomes in the Super Bowl. Or in any game that matters. I’d put money on Mahomes scoring every single drive if needed. if you get a chance to be guaranteed one more possession than that guy you do it every single time.
-
The problem with this theory is, after each team scores, it’s back to sudden death. So if you receive and score, and then the opponent scores and ties, your the next team to get the ball. And if you score it’s over. The only way this makes sense is if you plan for going for 2 if you kickoff and then score. But I don’t think anyone’s taking that chance with the game on the line and could easily tie and hope your defense gets another shot.

I’d take this in a heartbeat. Not sure how I feel about Murphy because I haven’t looked at him much. But love much of the rest of it. All mocks have guys ranked differently. And guys in the draft fall or go much earlier than expected every single year. It’s like when Belicheck took that OL in the first rd and everyone in the planet laughed at it. But the fact is it happens every single year multiple times. Nobody on the planet besides the Bills thought Bernard or Williams were 3rd round picks either but it happened. Nobody knows for sure. It’s a crapshoot

I was thinking the same. If it falls that way I could see Sweat at 28 or even a trade down into the 30s, hopefully picking up an extra 2nd rd pick or something similar. Take Sweat. Then take Worthy in the 2nd rd. Maybe trade up into the early 3rd and get Walker to go with Worthy.
-
I’m close to the same place. Franklin, Thomas, Mitchell are my picks in the first rd. I like Worthy but we need a true alpha at WR and Worthy is not it. If he somehow dropped to the 2nd rd at 60 I’d do it tho.
-
I’m not saying I agree with it. But I think your point makes sense. I don’t think the Bills are going to draft a big, tall, physical, contested jump ball kind of guy. Specifically because they recently drafted Shorter and think they have something in him. Right or wrong I believe that’s the case. Which leads me to believe even a guy like Thomas may be out of the question unless he’s somehow still there after rd1 and they somehow didn’t address WR yet. I think a guy like Franklin is more on the target. Someone that still runs some clean routes, has some speed, and can still do some of those things, but it’s not what they’re known for. But I haven’t seen enough of Wilson to know that is or isn’t how he plays. He may be the crispest route runner in the world and I wouldn’t know. But I’m doubting he is at 6’7”.

Well. I can’t speak for anyone else but I can say myself I factor all that in. If he goes to the Bears for whatever reason I don’t think hell ever be that good. Or the Commanders for that matter. He might be the best WR in the world but if he’s got Nathan Peterman throwing him footballs it equates to nothing. Yes, if he was on the Bills with Allen it’s a completely different story. At the end of the day most people go by stats in terms of determining greatness and base their opinions on that. time will tell and we’ll all know in about 10-15 years who had the better career. Like I said from the start, I’m putting my money on the field vs MHJ. Especially in a WR class that is touted as possibly the best ever. I don’t think it’s a stretch to believe that.
-
The problem is he won’t be going to the Bills or any team with someone like Allen as his QB. He’ll end up with the Pats and their 2nd rd QB. Or the Redskins with their 2nd rd QB. Or maybe the Bears with Fields as their QB. That alone would put him at a disadvantage compared to someone like Nabors or Odunze with someone like Lawrence or Herbert at QB.
-
I get it. I’ve seen all the love. I just think it’s overrated. I don’t think he ends up being the best WR in this class. History would show that it’s almost never the case regardless of good a guy might be considered. Him against the field, I’d take the field 100% of the time. I think he ends up being top 5 of the class. Probably top 3. But I don’t think he’ll finish as 1.
-
I’ll go on record that MHJ won’t finish as a top 3 WR from this class. Or really a shock. I’m picking the field against most 1 guy. But….. the experts would have you believe this guy is a lock for canton right now before he’s even drafted.

this I agree 💯

I’m curious what other WRs were there at 28 when you drafted. As we’ve talked about multiple times in this thread that many don’t believe Franklin or Thomas will be there at 28. I’ve almost never seen Coleman make it to 28 so I’m curious if there wasn’t as crazy of a run as everyone expects, or if other sites have them rated that differently.

I haven’t looked at ANY RBs in this draft. Personally don’t want any or think we need any. We’ll end up getting some vet to come in and be our backup get back. I stumbled upon a vid of Jawhar and love the speed and explosiveness of him. If there is a thought to keep Hines, then there should be a serious thought to cut him and save millions and draft someone to replace him. Well end up with someone like Murray. Maybe bring Harris back. Even Ty Johnson could be that. They need speed and explosiveness and Jawhar brings it.

Probably my favorite one so far. Lots of moves both up and down. Gathered a ton of picks for next year in the process. Missed out on a few guys I wanted because of it but couldn’t be happier. And with all the picks next year we have a ton of room to be super active if there’s a stud even near the top 10 that we might want. 50. T'Vondre Sweat DT Texas 51. Troy Franklin WR Oregon 89. Devontez Walker WR North Carolina 131. Tykee Smith S Georgia 143. Brenden Rice WR USC 161. Jawhar Jordan RB Louisville 166. Fabien Lovett DT Florida State 171. Xavier Thomas EDGE Clemson 197. Kitan Oladapo S Oregon State 200. Omar Speights LB LSU 201. Anim Dankwah OT Howard 205. Chau Smith-Wade CB Washington State next years draft picks: BUF 1st PHI 2nd TB 2nd DEN 3rd BUF 4th KC 4th DEN 4th BUF 5th NYG 6th DEN 6th

Would love just about everything with this draft from the guys that I’ve looked at. Curious what other options you had at WR with the 158 pick. You probably don’t have access to look back at it. Just curious if you had others you were considering there. I doubt he falls that far but I have a lot of Mocks that drop Rice near that spot. I’d much rather have him than McCaffrey.

Can’t imagine this one ever happens. Traded back for two 2nd round picks but had to give up a 3rd next year for it. Then went back and fixed it by trading back again and picking up a 2nd next year. Ended up missing out on my preferred S James Williams because of it. But ended up with Jaden Hicks so I wasn’t terribly pissed. Should have went with Oladapo instead of one of the backup linemen in the early 200s. He wasn’t there at 245 at the end. Pissed about that one. Glad to get a backup for Josh that can be here a few years instead of the game we play with vet QBs. Be done with spending bet money on a backup QB for once. Groom this kid to be what you expect out of your backup. Overall though, couldn’t be happier. 35. Brian Thomas Jr. WR LSU 53. T'Vondre Sweat DT Texas 99. Jaden Hicks S Washington State 148. Brenden Rice WR USC 158. Xavier Thomas EDGE Clemson 161. Zion Tupuola-Fetui EDGE Washington 197. Joe Milton QB Tennessee 201. Andrew Raym OC Oklahoma 205. Anim Dankwah OT Howard 229. Clark Barrington OG Baylor 245. Brennan Jackson EDGE Washington State 2025 NO 2nd

I admittedly don’t know much about any of them. I don’t watch college ball so I’m limited to scouting reports and highlight vids mostly. Every year around this time I start doing mock drafts out of boredom and when guys I’m aware of are taken I start watching vids of the guys still left on the board in those spots. I haven’t gotten to many DTs. But of the ones I’ve seen I love Sweat. Guy is a beast. Love his size and power. Has it in him to be the best DL in the draft if things go right for him. I probably would take him as 28 because of the need at WR. I’d hope to get him in the 2nd rd. Either with a trade back to pick up extra picks, or a trade up into the 2nd if he falls a little bit more than expected. But I don’t see that happening after his week at the senior bowl. after him, of the guys that I’ve watched, I like McKinley Jackson in the 3rd Rd or later, and also like Jordan Jefferson in the mid rounds also. Also like Braden Fiske and Masson Smith. I’ve also seen a little of Gabe Hall and Justin Rogers. Want to look at them more. I dont think Hall is that space eater that we need but haven’t seen enough of him. overall the only guy I’d take at RD 2 would be Sweat and then Jackson at 3. After that they are rd 4 or after. Probably highest on Jefferson after that but I think he might have personality issues. I don’t have a problem with it that much considering the position he plays and we need nasty. But I doubt McDermott dips his foot in that pool.
-
I agree with you thoughts except the outlook on Jenkins. I just don’t see it. I watched a scouting video on him that showed he was basically taken out of most plays. I just don’t see the power. I also don’t see him being able to gain much more weight on his frame. He just looks like a finished product to me and I don’t think there’s much upside to him. Maybe I’m wrong and if we draft him, I hope I’m wrong. I would rather just get a guy that’s 315+ already and plug and play for run support right off the bat instead of hoping the guy can mold into something we are looking for. Think Jenkins is in more of the pass rush role. I see him losing 10lbs and trying his best to be a solid 3T or 5T
-
I think the issue is expecting the man to put on another 20lb. Who knows if he even can manage himself at that weight. also, the thought of him playing in a limited role is worrisome considering we would be spending a 2nd or 3rd rd pick on him. Would much rather get someone who’s just massive and better against the run to start. At least we know they could hold down a position of need. Instead of finding a backup to a player we already have and would rather not take off the field if we can manage that. But that is one of McDs weaknesses, he has this infatuation with a steady rotation on the DL instead of just sticking with his best players or hot players. It’s a problem for him imo.
-
I’d do it in a heartbeat but I don’t think they would ever go into the season with Shakir as the only known vet for Allen. I’d probably leave Corley off the list and try and grab another position of need like DT or S first then try and come back with someone like Rice, Baker, McCaffrey, Burton, Pearsall a round or 2 later.
-
I know. And I generally agree with you on it. He could slip to the 2nd rd but he ain’t gonna be there in the late 40s so there’s that. I think there’s a decent shot that Van Pran makes it to the 3rd. If the clock ticks over to the 3rd rd I’d be all for moving up some spots to get him. But that all depends on the offseason as well. If we not only keep Morse but extend him which I think will happen, I’m not sure a 3rd rounder on a C is the right call.

Took 2 trade backs and ended up getting a 2nd and 3rd next year. Was hoping to trade back up after acquiring the second trade back to take Sweat but was taken just after I traded back. There was still a ton of interesting guys on the board both times so I felt comfortable getting someone I would like. Didn’t expect Franklin to be there at 41 and definitely didn’t expect Mitchell to be there at 60. Couldn’t pass them up. 45. Troy Franklin WR Oregon 60. Adonai Mitchell WR Texas 99. McKinnley Jackson DT Texas A&M 128. Jaylon Carlies S Missouri 158. Jordan Jefferson DT LSU 161. Tahj Washington WR USC 197. Omar Speights LB LSU 201. Austin Booker EDGE Kansas 205. Nehemiah Pritchett CB Auburn 245. Clark Barrington OG Baylor 2025 NO 2nd 2025 CAR 3rd 100% agree with all of this about the WRs. I don’t think there will be more than 6 in the first round but I do believe there could be 7+ in the second. However, being so deep at WR some teams may think they can hold out an extra round and still get a good player. It’s going to be a fun draft. And lots of things will change after FA as well. I generally agree with JPJ however, he’s still an interior OLmen and they are generally not first round guys. I’ll give you this, after his senior bowl you definitely have a point. But we’ll see how the teams think about that come draft day. I think Van Pran would be a nice get in the 3rd round also. If he lasts that long.
-
Kind of where I’m at. Some will say guys like JPJ and some others won’t be there as late as I drafted because of their senior bowl but don’t want to lower the rankings of some others. There’s only 32 picks in the first round. When someone else moves up, someone else has to move down. Right now I’d say that almost everyone has Franklin rated as the 6th-8th WR at this point. Anyone have the numbers on past drafts. How many’s the most of ANY position drafted in the first round. I bet it’s not more than 6-8. There are a ton of terms that need QBs and will be jockeying for position for QB. I’d bet as many as 5 or 6 get drafted in the first round. Corners are always a hot commodity, and so are offensive linemen. I just can’t see more than 6WRs, especially in a draft that’s so deep at WR will be going in the first round.
