I generally agree with this but he was adult our best DB and probably our best defender the entire year and he only played half a season with us. Says a lot. I’d see if you could extend for 2 years and call it a day. We’ll see I guess.

If we let go of Douglas this staff is outright ridiculous. He was our best defender down the stretch last year. And it wasn’t even close.

First one of the day. Things didn’t go as I wanted to. Traded back with Cinci first for 49, 80, and next years 2nd. Was hoping to get one of Franklin, Mitchell there but both were taken. Even Polk, Worthy and McConkey were gone. So I Got Sweat who I love. Since none of the WRs were there at 60 that I wanted I traded back a little more with 2 more teams. Going from 60 to 63, and then 65. Picking up more ammo late in the draft. Legette was there then. Even though I’m not in love with him, so I wanted to double up with another physical freak in Walker but Philly gave me 97, 160, and 179 for 80. I was hoping Walker would be there. He wasn’t. Then Rice and Burton also got snagged before me. Overall though I’m not hating how it turned out but I’m not overly confident with any of the WRs. Hopefully 1 of the 3 really works out. the draft was really about doubling up or more on positions of need in hopes that you get some battles going on and someone rising to the top come camp. 49. T'Vondre Sweat DT Texas 65. Xavier Legette WR South Carolina 97. Maason Smith DT LSU 100. Kitan Oladapo S Oregon State 125. Javon Baker WR UCF 129. Tykee Smith S Georgia 159. According to NFL his combine weight was 202. Overall, I’d say that JJ and TF look very similar. And IF…. He can manage to put on 15-20lb of muscle it would be great. I just don’t have faith in these guys being able to do that anymore. It’s not like the days of old where a guy just got away with being really good or just a ball player in college and got serious when they got to the pros. A lot of the big time colleges (like LSU, or Oregon for example) have just as strict guidelines, and workout routines as the NFL does. I just don’t expect it to be a thing. A lot of these guys are what they are. Again, that doesn’t mean I dislike Franklin at all. I like him more than anyone not named MHJ, Nabors, Odunze. And he’s in the same conversation with about 2-3 other guys. I would just always worry he is too thin and will get hurt often. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/justin-jefferson/32004a45-4626-9287-c454-479b942cbd26 I generally think you’re right. But if his combine is through the roof, you may see that change to the 2nd.
-
This is where I’m at. Although he didn’t do well at the senior bowl. He has pro days and the combine to loft himself up. He will be talked about as one of the best physically gifted athletes there. Mark it blood. After that, we’ll see where he’s being mocked. I don’t think he gets in with Franklin, Coleman, Mitchell, and Thomas. But he’ll get in there with the top of the 3rd group of Worthy, McConkey, Corley, Polk, Wilson, Legette
-
I’m a huge fan of him. And honestly. I reallllllly like Franklin. But his weight scares me. I’m done thinking that every guy can come in and gain some muscle or lose some weight, etc. just assume he is what he is and don’t expect it to change. With that said Franklin is a stud, but just like smaller/thinner guys, if he can’t stay in the field what good is he. Because of that I’m not saying I’d put Mitchell over Franklin, but if he was the pick of the 2 (assuming both available) I don’t think I’d have any issue.

Any draft coming away with Franklin/Thomas AND sweat is A++ for me. Honestly I would willingly just take JAGs at all other pics of we came away with those 2.

Dion Dawkins doesn’t like the Jets DL very much
mrags replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I totally understand and agree with this. I just hate Dawkins. Don’t care if he was the best LT in the league (he’s far from it) I want him off the team. He’s a jokester. Doesn’t take anything serious, including his own body. I don’t want him or his personality anywhere near the Bills. But I’m fully aware and have realized he’s not going anywhere. He will be renegotiated and will likely retire a Bill. 🤮 -

Yup. I did get other autographs. I do collect players autographs. I’m not saying that fat tub cares at all about me snubbing him and not wanting his signature. I’m simply stating I hate him and how if I were to meet him I wouldn’t get all goo goo over him like some swiftie which was pointed out prior. I never said top 10. I said he may be 10 at best. And there’s only 32 LTs that start in this league so he’s about 1/3 down the list imo. At least that much. Which is only about 5 away from being average. And at his age and with his playing shape, it’s not going to get better. And you are 100% speculating on the reason for the sneaks going behind Dawkins. First of all, they are going behind the C and LG. Wrong gap. 2nd, maybe it has nothing to do with trusting which side and everything to do with footing. I don’t know this for sure but I’d bet $1,000 that Josh’s feet are in the same exact position every single time at the snap. At least on the QB sneaks. And that’s likely because he wants to push off a specific way because naturally one way is more than effective or comfortable than the other. It’s why Olympic sprinters start with specific feet forward in a race. It could just be because he’s left or right foot dominant. again, what your saying is complete speculation and there no way to prove it. Unless you have Josh on speed dial I guess. -

Yeah. I guess I don’t get on my knees and suck the fat from sports athletes like other grown adults here -

Naw. I’ve always hated Dawkins. I hate him enough that he was coming around at camp last year signing things and I pulled my item away because I don’t want that fat tub of goo’s signature. -

Top one/third? Sure. Maybe. I’d say he’s probably about 10. But then add in RTs and he’s another 10-15 down the list. I’ve said my piece about him on and on over the years. I think he’s a fat tub of goo. If he held his block even a little longer we might have been in the SB. There’s plenty of times I can point out about him being terrible. Like the multiple times he’s been blown up on QB sneaks where Josh was taken down for a loss. Like against the Titans and then the Vikings. We lost both those games. I never said he was bottom feeding. I said he’s average, to kind of good at best. Doesn’t matter, I hate him. I hate his fat tubby body, his stupid mouth that he constantly runs. His stupid Schnowman Shtick. As far as I’m concerned he can go and hope he does. Unfortunately I feel they will re-negotiate and extend him this offseason to keep him here for likely the rest of his career. -

Don’t worry, he is 100% Because he’s an idiot. This guy literally sat there and talked about people doing things because they “want to be cool” and he sits in an interview with a giant platinum chain and no shirt. Yeah. Pot, meet kettle. I wish this POS would just go away. Coming off his best year and I still want him and his douchiness gone. -
Exactly. A rich and famous millionaire ex ball player. A once MVP and on top of the world. Just a few years later getting in brawls in public places with other street trash. seriously, there is no reason for it. Stay out of it. The fact that he was that close to be involved is either a testament to how stupid he is in the first place for being there. Or stupid and thuggish enough because he knew and put himself there. know your surroundings.

Yeah. There’s always next year. It’s our year. Always the story with these guys. At least we’re relevant now vs when we were fighting for the 15th pick overall every single year. Enjoy the games and watching a future HOF QB. But hopes aren’t high that it ever gets done. They are saying all the right things heading into the draft this season, they finally acknowledge they need explosive plays on offense. So watch them take a CB or DE with the first few picks and “splurge” on a 3rd or 4th rd WR. Just like always. Really hope I’m wrong. Please Beane, prove me wrong.

Yes. Thank you. Some of my best work

Lots of trading involved. Gave up my 3rd and 4th next year pretty early. Then decided I wanted some of those picks back. So when trades were offered to me I opted for next years picks instead. Although still came away with a ton for this year. I’m pretty sure we’ll find at least 1 good WR out of the 2 big ones I drafted. At least 1 of the 3 DTs should work out well with at least bodies for the others. I really like Hicks as starting S but I also see Williams as a S as well. I know he’s listed as a LB but he played S in college. Personally I just don’t see how 220 is thick enough to play LB in this league on a consistent basis. But he would get a shot at either. At worst he would be better than expecting AJ Klein to come off his couch and cover the best TE in the history of the league. Picked up a few depth DEs, along with Milton for his skill set for Joshs future backup for years. And I can’t complete a draft without trying to get Jordan, his highlights are incredible to me. I know a little speed back isn’t what we need, but I can’t help but think he could be extremely useful. 52. Troy Franklin WR Oregon 64. McKinnley Jackson DT Texas A&M 68. There’s not reason why he ever thought Klein being out there was a good move anyway. He was an “oh crap” signing as it is. Break glass in case of even bigger emergency. Yet there he was, getting significant playing time in the biggest game of the year. Against the toughest opponent. Against their best pass catcher. You want him in the game because you have no one else, fine. Then put someone on him that actually had a chance as covering him. Hell, I would have ran Williams out there against him, he likely makes a bunch of mistakes, but at least he’s physical enough to keep up with Kelce. Live and die with that decision. Or any other one that included the guy covering their best receiver, the best TE in the league, was a guy that was on his cough a few weeks prior, planning a family vacation.
