I keep trying to tell everyone. Get ready for the most stupid nonsensical draft ever.
-
Except putting both of these guys on the field would mean Oliver is off.
-
Yup. Personally don’t think Franklin will be there at 41. But I really like the extra pick at 58. If we could do this and end up with something like Sweat at 41 and then a trade back up into the 40s for Mitchell I’d do it in a heartbeat.

My first mock of the day. Profootballnetwork has changed their layout again. Not a fan of the changes. But I was pretty pleased with the draft. Lots of trades back for extra picks. Used them on positions of need where our holes were mostly. 41. Troy Franklin WR Oregon 58. McKinnley Jackson DT Texas A&M 60. Xavier Legette WR South Carolina 100. Jaden Hicks S Washington State 145. MarShawn Lloyd RB USC 159. Zion Tupuola-Fetui EDGE Washington 162. Tyler Davis DT Clemson 184. Omar Speights LB LSU 198. Sundiata Anderson EDGE Grambling State 202. Andrew Raym OC Oklahoma 206. Anim Dankwah OT Howard 219. Mark Perry S TCU 243. Nelson Ceaser EDGE Houston 246. Storm Duck CB Louisville

I like the idea of picking players not outside the top available at the time. I don’t go by that generally because for example, if a QB is there we aren’t taking one. And while I do see the point of it as taking the best football players available at the time I also have an issue with it if you already have someone at that position, OR if it’s a position that can generally be found later in the draft. RBs are a dime a dozen and have short shelf life’s. I get the idea of continuing to draft one. Hell, almost all my mocks have Jawhar Jordan in them. I love the kid. But I also wouldn’t reach earlier than rd5 to do it. It’s not that I don’t think a certain player may not be good enough, it’s the holes and needs we have vs the resources to get them all.
-
I understand all of that. Except you are almost hoping you can get someone that plays significant time with the 3rd pick. At least this year with our holes and needs. Could take a RB in rd 5 or after to come in and do what you’re hoping. JMO
-
Right. I’d hate this with everything I have Much better. I don’t like the RB. But everything else is awesome Like this one even more. What’s with the early rd RBs tho? If they take a 3rd round RB again I’ll rip my tv off the wall. I agree we need a body there but Cook has proven capable and shouldn’t spend the resources on one so early with all the needs we have

That’s never a good feeling. Ever.
-
Oh yeah forgot about that. The useless gift that keeps on giving.

for whatever reason he fell and fell. I had to give up next years 1st but was able to squeeze a 3rd next year out of Jax. I tried to move up again in rd2 for Sweat but couldn’t swing a deal and he was gone. So I traded back with Hou for 86 and next years 2nd. Was hoping to pick up McKinley Jackson there but he was gone. So now the issue that no one really spoke to me here. Thought about Cole Bishop, S. But instead took another trade back for more picks. The Eagles gave me 97 and 160. I really thought Bishop would still be there but wasn’t. Then Miami offered me 157 and a 3rd next year. If I wasn’t going to be picking at 100 I wouldn’t have done it. Ended up getting Hicks there. So I feel really good about both WR and S, but just in case I doubled up at S with Smith later. I think Jefferson can be that 1tech that we need but also doubled up with Hall who’s more of a 3 but we need bodies regardless. Also picked up a few rotational DEs, a backup LB, and a weapon in Jordan. This draft is all about Nabors. The rest almost doesn’t matter. And even though I gave up some picks next year I was able to pick up extra 2nds and 3rds next year so we will be looking really strong for years to come. 17. Malik Nabers WR LSU 100. Jaden Hicks S Washington State 129. Jordan Jefferson DT LSU 157. Zion Tupuola-Fetui EDGE Washington 159. Gabe Hall DT Baylor 160. Jawhar Jordan RB Louisville 162. Tykee Smith S Georgia 198. Tommy Eichenberg LB Ohio State 202. Nelson Ceaser EDGE Houston 206. Andrew Raym OC Oklahoma 2025 HOU 2nd 2025 JAX 3rd 2025 MIA 3rd

Maybe I’m just thinking what that useless gingers cap was last year. Didn’t know he was a FA. They will get there and they don’t need to make any major cuts.
-
They can get pretty damn close by just restructuring Josh and extending/restructuring Dawkins. Add in saving between 3-5 million by cutting each of the following: Harty, Hines, Matakevich, Neal
-
I don’t disagree with that. But they disagree enough to have signed him for $230m over 5 years.
-
No way on that. Johnson is one of the best Nickle corners in the league. And at 27 years old he’ll get more life out of him than Douglas at this point. If McDermott ran a normal 4-3 or was more comfortable changing looks on defense I might say ok. But he’s not. He sticks with his defense and TJ is a huge part of it. Hard pass for me. the fact is they shouldn’t have to do either. They can get under the cap in multiple other ways.
-
He’s under contract. They can find other ways to get under the cap. They don’t need to cut him and create another hole
-
I wish MCDefense would take the route the Panthers had back then and utilize the biggest and baddest weapon in the league in Allen like the Panthers did with Newton. We might have actually won something by now. before everyone gets all butthurt that Newton got ran into the ground and blah blah blah. Don’t care. Allen ain’t Newton.
-
I’ve been seeing a lot of mocks with the Cards taking one of the QBs. I don’t get it honestly. They can’t be ready to move on from Murray yet right. He missed a season with injury but they are so heavily invested I’d think they have to at least try and work it out.
-
Man, why you gotta bring me into this.
-
I’ve heard every rumor known to man on this. From him cheating on her and paying a WNY millions to abort the baby. To her cheating on him with Diggs at their Halloween party. Multiples in between. But one thing I do know is there were multiple domestic dispute calls to the house. So maybe things weren’t all sunshine and rainbows and they were just together out of familiarity and comfort until they actually found reasons to end it. And lastly, I just hope it wasn’t because Josh changed once he became rich and famous.

I called it about 2 years ago when this thing really got rolling. If people think the atmosphere is going to be the same in the new stadium, I’ve got news for you. It isn’t -

It’s a huge reason the seating is only 60k. They now a ton of people will leave but between the waiting list and smaller capacity stadium they help keep the demand for tickets high to ensure every year they are fully booked with season tix -

I really don’t think it matters to them. They will get their PSL money either way. Brokers will buy them and just jack up resale prices. Hell, I don’t know if it’s legal for them to do it but I wouldn’t put it past any NFL team themselves to buy their own tickets and then sell them on the secondary market for more money. I’d imagine it works out in their favor if they were to do it. Probably take some losses here and there but also some huge wins. -

Thanks Jack. I’ll have to check my email as well. Told everyone a while ago this would be happening. About 6-9 months late. But it’s happening as I previously stated. -
Overall for the season I’d say Bernard was our best defender. Then after that it’s Douglas on a half a season. I’m sure lots will want Oliver in there. But he just didn’t do it for me. He was good. Just not better than either of those 2 imo.
