Pass rusher. A huge need not being talked about enough
mrags replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
He coaches and game plans and play calls way too conservatively in the playoffs. Always playing not to lose. -
Pass rusher. A huge need not being talked about enough

Exactly. This lame duck coach and his conservative coaching in the most important games. All year he blitzed quite a bit. Really turned up the dial on pressure. Then in the playoffs he plays not to lose. Like a scared little girl -

How do you explain a tip 5-10 defense since he got here with undrafted guys and mid to late round picks all over on the defense then. Guys like Jackson and Benford starting, guys like Bernard starting. It’s a lack of scheme and game plan in the front and it’s always been a problem for him. Even thought he’s had multiple early rd picks and mod to high priced FAs at the positions. And this -

Yeah I don’t accept that. He’s had a top 5-10 defense pretty much since he’s been the HC. He manages to do so much with every other position. From mid to late round picks and undrafted picks starting and playing well all across the board. He just can’t seem to ever find a legit pass rush when it matters unless he blitzes the house. It’s defensive scheme, game planning, and play calling. And it’s all on the shoulders of McD -

Neither has his head coach and his defensive philosophy -
I think this is more true. If he continues to lock up positions of “need” with some of these moves he’s making, I could see him using a 1st next year along with any other ammo he has to move up into the 10-15 range and make a move for MHJ, Nabors, or Odunze, whoever falls to that range. It’ll depend on how the draft plays out but I think this is more of a possibility than trading next years 1st for multiple 2-4th rounders this year.

The Case for Trading Back [Discussion]
mrags replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah there’s been so much explained to me but I keep being right about things like Harty sucking, Sherfield sucking, McDermott continuing to make huge mistakes at the worst possible times. Yes I’m aware that Hollins is a Sherfield replacement. That’s still doesn’t negate the fact that he’s being overpaid for what he provides to this team. The move never should have been made. on to more pressing needs, I understand you don’t believe they think we are set at WR. I don’t believe they are under that belief either. However I do doubt they rate the need nearly as highly as everyone else. Where you and I see eye to eye on the fact they need to find a true #1 that can take over possibly as early as next year; I’m not so sure they feel the same way. I fear they draft a 4th rd guy (because we currently don’t have any 3rd rounders) and call it a day. Hope I’m wrong and I’ll be extremely glad to admit being wrong if that happens. But I think many people are going to be shocked come draft day. -
Is drafting Diggs replacement a priority in this draft?
mrags replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
This 100%. I just hope they are thinking the same thing. I have my doubts -
The Case for Trading Back [Discussion]
mrags replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
I really think you should prepare yourself for the possibility that McD will absolutely take another Defensive player. After all his defense was gutted in the offseason. They filled the whole at WR with Samuel and in their minds that useless Hollins. I’m with you, I absolutely think drafting a WR to not be your #2 but be your #1 as early as next year is a huge need. However I am just not sure they feel the same way. -
The Case for Trading Back [Discussion]
mrags replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m also for trading back if the guys you’re looking for are already gone. That’s Thomas, Mitchell, Franklin, JPJ. Honestly those are the only guys I would take at 28. Regardless whether we have a need or really don’t this year. Those guy would be future #1s at their positions on this team moving forward. I haven’t looked at many positions outside of WR, S, DT and a little at C for us in this draft. I think these are the 4 needs we have. I don’t think any DT is worth rd 1 except maybe Sweat just because I think he’ll be the best DL in the draft, but I also don’t think you need to take him at 28. So if the 3 WRs and the one C that are actually worth a first rd grade are fine, I’d absolutely trade back for an extra 3rd or 4th and hopefully nab Sweat in the early to mid 2nd. Using the other 2nd with maybe a trade up for WR. Which Franklin SHOULD be available round there. But I get that WR is such a need that if he’s your guy and you take him at 28 I’m perfectly fine with it. -

You will notice I did say multiple times I made a point to say I would not commit to any name brand at all building a hotel. But there will be one. When I mentioned Hilton or Marriot I was referring to size, capacity, quality of hotel. https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/bufaggi-hilton-garden-inn-buffalo-airport/?SEO_id=GMB-AMER-GI-BUFAGGI&y_source=1_MjA4NDA3Ny03MTUtbG9jYXRpb24ud2Vic2l0ZQ%3D%3D https://www.google.com/travel/hotels/14086%2C Lancaster%2C NY/entity/CgoIqdHaioq8wJJ1EAE?q=marriott courtyard&g2lb=2503771%2C2503781%2C4284970%2C4814050%2C4874190%2C4893075%2C4965990%2C72277293%2C72302247%2C72317059%2C72406588%2C72414906%2C72421566%2C72456710%2C72458066%2C72462234%2C72464394%2C72469155%2C72470440%2C72470899%2C72471280%2C72472051%2C72473841%2C72483525%2C72484736%2C72485656%2C72485658%2C72486063%2C72486593%2C72494250%2C72498532%2C72510103%2C72511833%2C72512134%2C72512933%2C72513422%2C72513513%2C72523972%2C72525062%2C72535898%2C72542512&hl=en-US&gl=us&ssta=1&ts=CAESCAoCCAMKAggDGiAKAhoAEhoSFAoHCOgPEAMYFhIHCOgPEAMYFxgBMgIQACoNCgk6A1VTREICCC4aAA&rp=EKnR2oqKvMCSdRCxyZiDr8nIpVQQiKyr2c7EuIn8ARCQ7Pfs7_nftXI4AUABSAOiARQxNDA4NiwgTGFuY2FzdGVyLCBOWcABA5oCAggA&ap=aAE&ictx=111&ved=0CAAQ5JsGahcKEwiIyKHl9YiFAxUAAAAAHQAAAAAQBg&utm_campaign=sharing&utm_medium=link&utm_source=htls these aren’t exactly pillars of architectural engineering or anything. But I expect something similar within a few miles of the stadium once it’s built. I’ll say of the stadium is built and ready for 2026 I expect something similar by 2030. So there’s my time frame. If you can remember in the next 6-7 years to ask me for your beer I’ll gladly buy you one when that time comes. I never said there were negatives in it at all. I simply said he didn’t give a chit about the area until he owned teams here. And then all the sudden started buying up properties and opening businesses. All lining his pockets. I’m simply stating that he may not give a crap about the area and only cares about his savings account. -

Oh we know. We also know it’s McDefenses favorite thing to do. Rotate 17 defensive linemen every game and see how little snaps he can give to the actual difference makers on the defense.- 218 replies

I mean yeah, there isn’t going to be a Waldorf being built in OP. But I’m willing to bet something similar to a Hilton garden inn, or Marriot courtyard will be built near there. Keep in mind I never stated any names attatched to any of it. But I do expect it to happen. notice I never said chain either. I don’t expect a Buffalo Wild Wings to move in across the street. They were just a mile away and couldn’t hang anyway. Local restaurateurs however will be in the market for bars and eateries. And I’d bet you a beer that a hotel will probably be built at the McKinley mall site which is a mile down the road. -

The point of it was that he was literally non existent in Buffalo, business venture wise. Until he started buying teams here. Then all the sudden restaurants. Bars. Breweries. Hotels. Real estate. Etc. He was nobody in the area until owning the teams. All he’s doing is maximizing his profits. Gotta put gas in the yatch after all. Put money on it there will be new businesses, restaurants, bars, and likely a hotel or 2 will pop up near/around the stadium. And they won’t be dumps like the Prospector, Kettles and motel 6 -

I never said it was a bad thing. I only said that Pegula will be lining his pockets even more with the way things are headed. He spent care about the town. He doesn’t live here. He lives in Florida and his yatch. He comes here for Bills games once a week and that’s it. I’m sure he’ll have some incredible owners suite with full apt and a helo pad somewhere in the new stadium. -

Thank you. Another person confirming this. I was just pointing out that he all the sudden cared about the community when it meant money in his pockets. Like I said, etch it in stone. You will see many new business pop up near/around the stadium with Pegula’s name on them. In theory, after collecting free money from tax payers to build his stadium, charging them absurd PSL fees, incredibly increased ticket prices, and then he’s going to get a 4th small fortune by overcharging hotel rooms and dining expenses from stupid bills fans that travel far and wide to overpay for his watered down Bills experience. -

I consider you to be a fairly intelligent and knowledgeable person when it comes to the Bills. And hearing you say this rings true to what I believe just about every other person in the area was thinking at the time…… who the hell is that? They probably don’t even have the money to buy the team. Another Mark Hamister situation. -

Well. I’ve never seen proof that he was a die hard fan of either team. Not have I ever seen proof that he was a ticket holder of each. And of course most people only found out about his “love for the team” only came out as he purchased them. Same with his “care about the community” the guy literally owned almost nothing in the area. Then as soon as he bought the Sabres he started building his empire in downtown Buffalo. Look for him to monopolize some new hotels, restaurants, and bars in OP after the new stadium is built. He doesn’t care about the area. He cares about money in his pocket. He’s no different from any other greedy owner This -

I hate hockey and I hate the Sabres even more. I’m completely satisfied every time they get within a few games of the playoffs and rip the hearts of all the sad sacks that watch them. and I don’t care that Pegula saved the Bills from Toronto. Truth is, they belong there. We have no business having a pro football team in this city. And the stupid PSL numbers seem to be proving that. I’ve been telling everyone for a while now. The fans that attend these games moving forward in the new stadium will not be what true bills fans want or think. Most people never even heard of Pegula before he was a name attatched to buying either team. -

Yeah I agree that Pegula is pretty much a huge POS also. Let’s be honest, his wife is the only reason why he owns the Bills and Sabres. He doesn’t care about the town or nearby areas. All he cares about is making money. At least now that his trophy wife is no longer able to run things for him. -

Following this. I’m sure it’ll be better also. But I’d like to hear about what is going to be better. For one, I’m almost positive there will be no outdoor concourses. Which should help Maybe the indoor clubs still do. Idk. But mine in the outdoor clubs do not. I could buy it extra. But not included -

Been saying this for years. The nfl. The bills. The town of OP. The county. The state. We make a fool of ourselves on national tv every single Sunday You explained that they don’t. You didn’t explain why it’s not an Option. All you did was state they are not meant for every day people. I’m simply stating that if they wanted to they could make it so that everyday people could afford them. Which would help their profitability in the long run if they did -

Yes I’m fully aware these clubs are not meant for most fans. They are meant for businesses. I’ve been saying that for years now. It’s why u says everyone in the new stadium will be stepping down a peg or 2 as far as seating in the new stadium. Because even club seats in the current stadium are reasonable to a career individual. Of course if you’re working at McDonald’s you likely can’t afford them. But if your someone who has a career emolloyment then you likely can if you wanted to. But in the new stadium the career professional isn’t likely to be able to afford those seats. But you better believe the law firm or the dr that employs him will have those seats. im not arguing what should be happening, in a perfect world we wouldn’t even have PSLs. I’m arguing what is. In fact. Happening. im just saying if a 20-30 year option was there, some of those people that would have no shot at them, might actually do it. Other stadiums have 30 year options. Pretty sure Dallas and NYC. There’s really no reason why it should be possible here. I currently have club seats and I’m almost positive I don’t get free parking included.
