  1. yup. The Seahawks won't be far behind with Wilson, Sherman and Chancellor coming up as well. 2 of the 3 will get paid enough to make them the highest paid at their positions in thenfl when the time is up and Wilson will demand a lot. Maybe not Brees, Flacco money but I'd say top 10 in the league. 49ers won't be far behind either.
  2. you say that like this FO has never taken a shot. What about Walker, Dockery, Owens, Spiller, Stevie, Mario, and Mark Anderson. Why is it so different than what the saints have done? Oh, because we suck and have for years and the Saints are good and have been for years. This reminds me of: "Why are all your moves so noble and I'm the idiot piece of s#%t?" -Edward Norton
  3. dont disagree. and usually the fans in their fan sights flip out and want to jump off bridges because of it.
  4. are you arguing with me just to argue??? I don't disagree with your take. Fans should show up and support their team. Nobody questions my support EVER!!! I have never missed a single minute of any game I've ever attended. I don't leave when were down by 50 and I don't leave when were up by 50. I wait until the last Buffalo Bill is in that damn tunnel. I was simply showing why that game may have been a blackout. Thanks for raising my blood pressure before I go to work. I enjoy being worked up an yelling at inmates for no reason.
  5. Didn't even read your post. The title says it all. Yes they should
  6. Got that right Kirby. They are in cap hell right next to Lucifer himself wearing a Brees jersey. No player in this league should be making that much when iteans you have to cut other players to make room. I get that the Saints are all Brees but they are going to suffer from it. That team is on a downward spiral because of him and his ridiculous contract. If they do manage to cut enough to sign Graham, they will be no where within a few years with 2 extremely overpaid players trying to do everything.
  7. This kind of move is exactly what I've been talking about for a while now. Good teams lose their FAs on occasion. It happens. It's the NFL and it's the nature of the business. I bet the Saints fans are doing the very same thing us Bills fans do to OJ their message boards. Jumping off bridges and doom and gloom is most likely happening right this minute down in the bayou. The only difference here is that Saints fans can believe that this move is happening to try and save money for Jimmy Graham. Which IMO, they'll never be able to cut enough to sign him. But well have to wait and see on that.
  8. Our outside linebackers suck and our D Line may be pro bowlers but they are not run stuffers. They are pass rushers.
  9. thank you for explaining it so well for me. This has been my point all along.
  10. you won't hear an argument out of me about that. I was too young to go to games then by myself so itching I could do about it. But I can guarantee you this, I attend every single home Bills game now and always will baring hospitalization to myself or family. 100% correct about all of this.
  11. see above. That's only because these new Billion dollar stadiums have such a high price tag that you must or else. Now the Bills stadium is paid in full. The owners could continue to build on the foundation. Shopping centers, restaurants, game experiences, etc... All at a minimum cost and with help from the county and state and keep ticket prices and PSLs at a minimum. this we can agree on.
  12. this. Although jones may be proud of his monstrosity he calls a stadium, he's not loving the check that he has to sign every month to pay for it. Same goes for Snyder, and the Jets/Giants.
  13. i will agree with much of this. Though I don't think what Russ did was pointless, I still feel much of the work was done for him. The NFL is the biggest game not only in town but in the country and possibly the world (except soccer in many countries). I get what you mean, no one would turn down an additional $100m (or whatever that actual number may be). What you say is true. But that doesn't mean that one can't survive here and wouldn't profit here. For someone like Jim Kelly for example, it would be more money than he's made in his lifetime, so it really depends on who your asking. Again, it goes back to who is in the conversation of buying the team when Ralph is gone. We've already heard from Galisano that he would do whatever possible to help keep the team in Buffalo and he's no slouch either. Then there's Jacobs moving back into town with Delaware North, Pegula, Trump with football and Kelly ties. The possibilities aren't exactly endless, but it's not like they aren't there. I do agree 100% that there needs to be more ways created to develop more income. Honestly, that's something that will be brought up with the new updates this season. Tailgating centers, updated NFL store, etc... Your correct that there aren't many corporate sponsors that provide help but your incorrect that there are no Fortune 500 companies here. Wegmans, Geico, Ingram Micro off the top of my head. I've worked at Ingram for years. At the time they were a $30Billion a year company. I guess because their main offices are in Santa Ana we don't get credit but I can assure you that the Williamsville office is the heart of the company and the amount of tickets, and suites that belong to not only Ingram but with their customers is far and above what you can imagine I'm sure. As far as future possibilities for money making ideas are more restaurant and shopping ideas in the stadium (much like Heinz Field). Maybe building hotels/shopping outside the stadium (much like Gillette). And naming rights. The average is over $2million a year but that factors in teams without naming rights, and many others that are at or near the end if their deals that are much smaller than what would happen in today's day in the NFL. http://www.leagueoffans.org/nflnamingrights.html I don't think Wegmans has the clout to name an NFL stadium, Ingram Micro isn't about that sort of thing. Geico is a reasonable option as is New Era which is located in the city of Buffalo as is Delaware North.
  14. i won't argue that. I guess I was just annoyed like I usually get when people bring that game up like we were the best team in the league at the time. We weren't and we suffered from major injuries. But your right. Although it wasn't as prevalent as it is today, we did have a fare share of blackouts back then. Not nearly as in today's NFL though. The crap that's going on in Jacksonville is a huge black eye to the league. Something that Buffalo isn't even close to attempting.
  15. well, I have information that years ago (many), there was a doctor that was coming across the board that was "flagged" for search upon entering the country and a laptop was confiscated with many athletes names that were listed as a client base. I'm not going to mention any names but there were at least 2 Bills on that list (neither play on the team anymore, or are retired), along with a superstar golfer. Yet nobody every received any disciplinary action after confiscation of this laptop. But who knows, maybe the baseball steroid scandals popped up because of this. The government, FBI, DEA, ICE, Etc... Are all in the business of stopping these drugs from happening in the long term and one player means nothing to them. It's the large scale that makes a difference.
  16. im not arguing with you just to argue with you Bandit. But people always bring up the Comeback game as a point of reference. It's not the best reference. Just a week before that game, the Bills lost in horrible fashion to the same team. They also were without Thurman Thomas AND Jim Kelly as he was injured the game before. This all coming off 2 Super Bowl losses and arguably a much weaker team than we had 2 seasons prior. It's not apples to apples is all I'm saying.
  17. cant argue one bit about what you say about Russ. The job is already done for him by the NFL. And I don't disagree with the revenue coming from additional outlets. But in the end, the BILLIONS that the teams earn from the tv deal is all that's needed to run an NFL team. The system is set up that way. The additional ticket sales and merchandise sales is just frosting on the cake.
  18. it's not always on CBP to cover anything up. Trust me, they'd rather not. But the story is true. Merriman was coming across. Was with steroids. Was brought in and questioned for hours. Sometimes, the government of the United States is just more interested in who might be the big man behind the curtain making the drugs, or distributing the drugs, or selling the drugs, than the football player that's buying just enough for personal use.
  19. that is correct. But I'll say it for fact, that he was not wrong about the Merriman thing all those years ago. Your just gonna have to trust me on this.
  20. K9 and Kirby. Everything you say MAY be true. But again, it's all speculation at this point. I do to know what kind of business your in, but I'm doubting you work for the county or the Bills to know enough about the logistics of the future of the team in Buffalo. Therefore, your opinions and arguments are just the same as anyone else's. Not trying to be a dick here. Just saying. What you THINK you know, isn't any better than anyone else's opinion. What of Terry Pegula Buys the team? Or Tom Galisano. And they couldn't care less about making money on the team that they just want to help out the city of Buffalo. Or maybe there's an owner out there that is just a fan of the Bills and/or the city of Buffalo and doesn't care about the bottom line they are just happy with owning the team and don't care if they lose money doing it. All things that are not easily answered by some random people on a message board.
  21. thay all depends on who the new owner is and what toes they may or not have with the city of Buffalo. If they deem a new stadium needed or if reasonable upgrades can be made for a minimum. The city's of Toronto and LA may want a team all day long but history has shown that they cannot support an NFL team from a fan perspective. They have had many issues selling out games and losing teams to other cities. So there is no argument at this point that supports them having another team. Then we cannot speculate that the NFL even wants to tap into these markets on a full scale. What does the NFL gain by introducing another team in LA? Sore it's a city of approximately 10million but do we really think that the people of LA care about a team in their home town? How about merchandise sales? Do we really believe that all the sudden the NFL sells more merchandise? It's the biggest sport on the planet. They already sell ungodly amounts of merchandise to the people of LA regardless of what team it is. And then there's the fact that the NFL (Goodell included) may not want to end a 50+ year franchise as it may cause a stir in fans perspective of the league. Could hurt it more than it could help. All in all, until we know who is the next owner of the team is, it's all speculation and honestly, none of us here (including myself) has any f#%king clue what's going to happen.
  22. Let's not forget who's writing this story
  23. I understand your arguments. But at the end of the day, the shared TV contract provides millions and millions above and beyond what is needed to run an NFL team.
