  1. i agree with this 1,000% and at the rate CJ has disappointed is, and both of them have gotten injured, there's not even close to a sure thing. Hell, Fred could get hurt walking out of the tunnel on opening day and CJ could grow a giant vagina like last year and were boned. I'm not saying to go out and get CJ2K but as it's been said, where there's smoke, there's fire. I've been hoping we get the kid out of Boston myself in round 4 but this would put a whole new spin on things.
  2. or they are getting as many pieces as possible and there is some truth to the rumors of trading up to #1 with Houston so we can take Clowney or Mack. How sweet would that be, in one offseason we pick up 3 Buffalo Boys that are all very good.
  3. i always bring a heater to my tailgates in the winter. Not quite as pretty as this box but 3-4 ten by ten pop up tents all together, then tapped off with a propane heater inside. We've had it so warm that in 20 degree weather we have been forced to strip down to t-shirts.
  4. He'll be a FA by Monday. Just pick him up then.
  5. i agree with all of this. And also think Ramses Barden will be a huge surprise. He might not be putting up 1,000 yards and 12TDs, but in completely expecting him to be at least as good as David Nelson was during his best year if not better and better in the red zone too.
  6. Ramseys (however it's spelled) Barden And I was playing madden just the other day and noticed Streeter. He was a 6'4" 225lber in the game. Actually did quite well for me in preseason. Not quite sure if he's on the team still. But my guess at the depth chart will be: Williams Stevie Woods Goodwin Barden Easley Elliot, Graham, and Hogan will all be gone.
  7. most of the new owners are moguls and won't ever make what they have paid. You think Jerry Jones is worried about the 1.5B it cost for JerryLand??? He's for a rock hard (===3 because he's for the most absurd talked about monstrosity in the league. He'll never recoup what he's paid for that stadium. He's have to live another 80 years. Think about it. Like I said, Ralph has owned the team since it's inception, for a cost of only $35k. And he's still not worth $2B without the team. Even with the teams assets he's still probably not worth $2B. That says something about how much money these guys make. Or more so, how much they care about making money vs just being an owner of an NFL team. And fwiw, there aren't many new owners in the league at this point. You can't even call the Dan Snyders and Jerry Jones of the world new owners. They purchased their teams way before they got into the $Billions.
  8. Ive never had a tenant try and leave before their lease is up. But a very close friend of mine has. He's owned his apartment for 5+ years and in that time he's has over 6 renters and 2 of which I know for a fact left mod night and they never recovered their money. The only saving to their losses were the tenants left a few things behind which were sold to pay for needed renovations. Even the TV and DVD player that were left behind couldn't be sold because the credit card company came looking for them. With all that being said, I don't think anyone can move the team. I believe the lease is locked in. I believe the $400M is just a precaution if someone pulled the up the Mayflower trucks in the middle of the night. I was simply stating it was a bad analogy. A billion dollar investment is completely different from a rental lease agreement on cheap staples paper that is easily maneuverable.
  9. thats different. Thy wasn't a $Billion+ Investment he was getting Into. $200M is easily recouped when your a Billionaire. And it's not like he made a ton of the team. Maybe $150M and I don't think it was even that much. I think it was closer to $80M which is peanuts. Especially considering any costs that he acquired while owning the team.
  10. as a landlord, I can tell you that's not true. Site, you could take anyone to court for breach of their lease, but that doesn't mean they have to pay it. It's your responsibility as the landlord to hint then down and recoup your funds. Say for example, the tenants are under SS disability, good luck getting a fine from them for breaking their lease. This goes the other way too, say for example you try and evict them because they are 3 months late in their rent. If they are publicly assisted, your not evicting anyone. Sure, to most normal people who pay their bills it seems logical, but to scumbags that try and cheat the system and everything involved with it, your going to have a miserable couple months. I know there's much more intelligent lawyer speak to explain this but I'm no lawyer but I am a landlord and I know what rights I don't have.
  11. which brings me to a point that I've wanted to bring up for a while now. Unless your one of the families that inherited the team from your relatives, or purchased a long time ago, you aren't making money in the NFL. What I mean is, anybody that purchases a team (let's just say Pegula) is already assuming a $1B+ check to cough up. Chances are they are also assuming at minimum, a few hundred million in changes right away or within a few years. There's a really good chance they also expect to have to fork over at least $1/2B+ for either stadium upgrades, or relocation (probably with some help from the community). That all adds up to... There's no way, any new owner expecting to spend all this money on a new team is expecting a return on their investment. There's just no way they will make up $1-2B in their lifetime owning an NFL team. Hell, Ralph owned the team for 50+ years and only bought it for $35k and never paid more than a few hundred million in stadium renovations and he's not worth $2B without his assets. What I'm saying is, new owners don't buy NFL teams for the money. They do it because they are fans of the game. They are sports team gurus. And they love the city they own the team in. With all that said, I think the new owner of the Bills will be a fan. A fan that has unlined pockets (Pegula, Galisano, Rich, Jacobs, Buffett, or any combination of then together) that either loves this team, loves this town, or may be trying to build a legacy in this area.
  12. with all that being said, at this point right now... Wilson's wife owns the team and can choose to sell it to whoever she would like to. So if really doesn't matter what any Canadian buyers might want.
  13. Yeah Buftex, Galisano and Kelly were both questioned about it at one point and they both stated it was in bad taste because it essentially meant that people were calling for Ralph's demise without him actually passing. Both have said they would be interested in purchasing the team and/or doing everything possible to keep the Bills in Buffalo. Galisano even reached out to Ralph and requested to speak about purchasing the team (funny because all the info you remember was right around the time Galisano had put the Sabres up for sale) but said Ralph insisted the team would not be sold while he was alive and would go to his estate to be sold apon his death.
  14. Nice post 51to3. First post btw. Welcome to the madness that is TBD. At least the argumentative side of it. I don't know how you could wait in the shadows for all these years and not post something at anytime wanting to rip someone's face off. But you have done so and done so well to this point. FYI, I never said Canadian in Montreal weren't Bills fans. I simply stated there was a (I used the term hatred, probably a little harsh) difference between Southern Ontarian's and those from the heavily influenced "French Canadian" Montreal and the more norther cities. I'm not Canadian, but you can't deny some of what I say is true that the French Canadians have general disagreements with those more Southern. I meant it as kind of like how people in the southern US call anyone from up north a Yankee. Or when I loved in Vegas and everyone called me Canadian. I've been to the Oakland Coliseum, San Francisco's Monster Park, and San Diego's Qualcomm Stadiums and I can vouch that all 3 were absolute crapholes. I couldn't believe how disgusting Oakland was to be honest. And even though San Diego is a nice weather area, the stadium looks more weathered than The Ralph. I can vouch that these teams all need new stadiums (San Fran is getting there's) much more than The Bills do. IMO, the best thing they could do with SD is build a stadium halfway between SD and LA and if they ever get another LA team, they can share the stadium just like the Jets and Giants. And if not, they can always change the name and call them the LA Chargers if they are feeling the need to move the team.
  15. was that too rude to for the incredibly rude pessimistic bunch?
  16. If were going pass rusher I want Anthony Barr and plop him right down at the RDE spot opposite Mario for the rest of Mario's career and watch both of them become hall of Famers. Mark it down, Barr will be the best defensive player in this draft.
  17. ill agree that it's possible and we will find out soon. But I think your assessment of Canada is hilarious at best. I'm sure some of the Canadians on this site can tell you how well they all get along. Like people from Montreal (French Canadians) hate southern Canadians and feel they are their own country. I can only imagine the other cities are no different than NYC and Boston.
  18. on some things (Stevie Johnson for example) I agree. Argument is what makes this place great. But this whole "The Bills are leaving and everyone that can't see that is so stupid" or the "There is no way they cannot break the lease" is BullChit. How about Mark Polancarz the county executive and former lawyer involved with the lease agreement saying its ironclad that they cannot leave. That the $400m was only put in place as a precaution if someone actually did try and fight it and won that they would have to pay this amount. But we have all these jailhouse lawyers on this site that think their absurd logic is all mighty bit in actuality they know nothing more than anyone else's opinions. It's just really annoying and I'm sick of it. There's a lot of good posters that aren't here anymore because of all the negativity here lately. San Jose Bills Fan for example has decided there's better things to do than deal with all the crap that's argued about. It just gets old. Really old. Makes me think from time to time if I want to bother spending the hours every day that I do on this site.
  19. That doesn't look like the cup of a carpenter.
  20. if it was failing so bad, why would that group be a serious front runner to purchase the team??? They NEVER sold out a game. They incredibly overestimated the need for the NFL in Toronto as they consistently overpriced the tickets, underperformed when it came to the NFL experience and couldn't even give away tickets at times. Maybe it wasn't The Bills that asked to end their games there, maybe it was Toronto realizing they were not ready for the NFL after a few years if failure.
  21. I know that I can easily just ignore the posts, or not read this thread altogether. But the "OMG the team is moving, how stupid are you that you do not see that" posts are really annoying. Nothing but negativity based on absolutely no fact or knowledge of the situation. If you really can't try and be positive at all about this team why do you even bother??? I'm sure there's other threads, teams, sites that will work for the pessimistic attitude that you seem to enjoy so much.
  22. and by a poster with the name Jauronimo no less.
  23. please do Doc. Looking forward too it.
  24. nor is it a quick thing. It wouldn't be happening prior to the 2020 season. It would take a minimum of 3 years probably to get something like this hashed out. Chances are, considering the state is involved, they will drag their feet to make this a long process for the new owner that is trying to burn the state of their only team and $400m.
  25. of the Toronto series wasn't at a standstill, I would have guessed that as well. Bit of the Toronto group were serious players, there's no way they would have given up their 1 game a year even if it was just for 1 year. On another note, this has me wondering for sure that not only have the front runners been in contact with Ralph's family and OBD, but they were a big player in fighting for that extra game back this year. Probably because they knew Ralph's health problems wouldn't be much longer until this was going to happen. On top of that, I foresee naming rights to happen this year as well. With the stadium being renovated, and Ralph no longer here, I see the naming rights going to someone soon. Rich, Delaware North, New Era, Wegmans, Geico...with some special consideration made for Ralph to honor him and the stadium.
