im with you here. Except I was one of the people that thought CJ could be the next Priest Holmes. And I use Holmes instead of Barry because IMO nobody has ever played the position as good as Holmes has over that 3 year period. But CJ proved me wrong. He proved that he cannot get it done on a regular basis. He proved that he IS always injured. He proved that he is inconsistent. I got tired of making excuses for him just like everyone else that's still on the CJ bandwagon. I think at times he can be good. But most of the times he disappoints and is only average. And for a top 10 draft pick and someone that's going to demand a ton of money next season. He's not worth it. you couldn't have said it any better.

Best Actor/Actress Of All Time?
mrags replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
i can get behind Spacey, Leo for sure. Not sure about the rest. this -
im not confusing anything. I'm simply stating a point. You must be confusing good RBs with ones that are often injured, get the ball more than 15 times a game, can be counted on, has over 1,000 yards, and actually scores TDs. You wanna talk about real vs fantasy. You have it right there. A RB that can't run the ball up the middle. A RB that has pulled up out of bounds when were trying to kill the clock. A RB that gets winded and his coach even says so. People wanted to throw Chan under the bus for that hit he was right. Hackett proved it last year. He can't do it full time. He's a situational RB at best. A good one when he's on, but that's hit or miss.

Hernandez indicted in connection with a double homicide

lol. iPhone and fat fingers. You mean. Sometimes instead of space I hit B. And sometimes I Try and hit o and get i. Make sense niw? -
shhhhh... Can't provide facts here and still hold and argument. It's a pesky thing those stats that are actually measurable. Unlike how injired a player was. Or how terrible the team was around him. Or how much defenses stacked the box. It's funny that Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, MJD never have issues with all this and they play on just as miserable teams as we had. It's a pesky thing to think about.

well. Let's answer this for the 1,000th time in this thread. 1. Yes. 1 good year out of 4. Statistically he hasn't done much beyond that. 1,200 yards is pretty good. Not great. Great would be 1,400+ with double digit TDs. He had 1,200 with less than 10. Wanna take into account he wasn't good enough to start the first one and a half years??? Because a top 10 pick at the RB position should be starting immediately and be a go to guy right away and he's not. 2. Your 6 games he "played and did awesome in" in 2011 averaged just over 70 yards a game. That's way less than AWESOME!!! When was the last time you sat in front of your computer looking at fantasy football points and thought... "Damn, my RB tore it up for me today. He got me 7 points" ...laughable 3. As I stated in my first point. 1,200 yards is far from phenomenal. It's a solid year for a RB. But usually with that kind of yardage you back that up with some TDs and he barely did. Call me when he hits 10 TDs in a season. Call me when he's top 3 in the league in rushing yards and then he has earned the right to be called phenomenal. 4. Do I want to discount the barely average 944 yard season with only 2 TDs??? No. I acknowledge that it was barely average. You are the one that thinks 944 yards and 2 TDs is good. When your clearly delusional. Onto the injury thing again... If he wasn't ALWAYS injured, or fatigued, or winded it might not be an issue. But the fact is, all NFL players okay hurt at times. Played tired at times. I don't hear excuses out of guys like Jamaal Charles, Adrian Peteraon, MJD, Matt Forte, Etc... 5. Bryce Brown has never been given the opportunity to start besides when the starter was injured. At that time he had very good games. But this isn't about me really. It's about the fact that Marrone and the FO went out of their way to try and get him last year then traded for him this year. It's pretty obvious they wanted him and saw something in him. It's also clear that what Marrone wants to do on offense doesn't suit CJ very well. And that's fine. My point is that CJ will not be here next year. Get used to it. Have a nice day. again. I hope he does. Well see who's right by mid season.
-
if there's an option to pick up an extra year after this year, they might do that IF... And only IF he has a good year reminiscent of 2012. AND... Stays healthy. But since that's NEVER happened, I doubt it. It's all good. I'll still use him as my work horse back in my Madden seasons.

rifht on brother. The only problem with that is this: Pretty soon the other teams will catch on to that. If they see CJ in the game it's an outside run or screen. If Freddy is in it's more up the middle in your face. My point is, he's a liability. He can't block as well. He can't move inside. It's extremely limited. It hurts the offense as a whole. This is why Marrone will not have him resigned. He's not the type of player that he wants running the ball for his offense. Freddy is but he's getting way to old and undeliable. Brown is that guy. They tried to get him a year ago and have him now for a reason. He'll be starting by week 8. CJ won't be back. He'll most likely be overpaid by someone and won't be much more successful than he is now.
-
ive seen it. Don't rember it much but I remember I enjoyed watching it at the time. I should probably dust that DVD off and give it another go. It's only been a few years.
-
get your facts straight kiddo. I never said it was because of any love I have for Freddy. I'm all in on Bryce Brown starting by week 8. Mark me down for that since your clocking me so much. In the 5 years ive been here I almost never knew you existed. Welcome to the board.

Hernandez indicted in connection with a double homicide

yiubmean that we know about. -
ive said he's inconsistent at best so at times he's good and at times he's horrible. At the same time you can't rely on him to be on the field and 100% healthy because he's almost never been that. Im still hoping he breaks out. As I've said multiple times. If he does well, we will be in the playoffs. I just don't have a lot of hope for it.

"Majority of Bills fans, actual players, and fans of other teams" is not only an opinion just like mine, it is completely 100% unprovable unless you know what players of teams think and what all the fans in the league think. Opinions are like @$$holes. Everyone has one. And they are all BS. The only thing that's not BS is the fact that CJ HAS NEVER FINISHED A SEASON WITHOUT GETTING SOME SORT OF INJURY TO THE POINT WHWRE IT EFFECTS HIS GAME, and CJ STATISTICALLY ONLY HAS 1 GOOD SEASON OUT OF 4. Those are the facts of the argument and they are indisputable.

you say that like I chase people out all the time. Want the list of guys I've wanted gone in recent memory? Evans Kelsey Schobel K. Williams F Jackson Evans I was right about years ago. Never played a down again. Nobody believed me there. I'll tip a cold beer to myself there as the ones that argued with me never gave me my due. Kelsey was always overpaid and no where near as good as many hoped he could be. Schobel was decent for a period of time but in the end he was the best player for a miserable team. In a good team he barely cracks the top 2 DEs. Oh, and I was right about him being an injury monster too. K. Williams. Nothing special IMO. I don't care what people say about the pro bowl voting. He's not a good DT. Our ten defenses have been the worst in history almost every year he's been on the team manning that line. Yet every year we make excuses and he's the only constant. F. Jackson. I was right about him originally when people said it was crazy to call an Undrafted player a starter. Then he got old and injury riddled. Much like CJ he hasn't finished a season in the last 4 without getting injured. Because of that I said we should cut bait and walk away. Boy was I wrong. This guy just defies all logic. I want him here until he's in a wheelchair. My opinions of CJ are opinions. That's true. But the facts are also there that he's been injired or beaten up every single season of his career to the point that we talk aboutbit being an issue. The facts are that he's only had one good season of over 1,000 yards. The facts are he's never had 10 TDs. The facts are he was a highly touted draft pick that was expected to be the lights out best player on the team and he's not. Say whatever yiu want. I'm done arguing with you about it. Well just let his last season in a Bills uniform be the judge of that. My money is on having another disappointing season of less than 1,000 yards and probably more discussions of him being injured and playing with injury and fans like yiu making more excuses for him. Have fun. See yiu in January.

Lots of Jim Kelly Clips on The Buffalo Bills Site

A friend of mine at work just found out he had pancreatic cancer. Cut it all out. In the middle of treatments. Lost 80 LBs in a few short months. Says he's all good now. The treatments are horrible. -
Hes had 1 good season. That's all. 2012. Finished. Done. No more argument. The other years were not good. Regardless how much, or little he played. They are excuses. The guy is a top 10 pick and expected to be the best player on the team. Was expected to be from the day he was drafted. However for years he couldn't unseat and aging and injured Freddy. Then he did and had a good year. Then all the sudden back to excuses again. If he's as good as everyone makes him out to be you wouldn't be hearing this debate. It would just be a one sides argument. I know, I know, all the people that think CJ is overrated are stupid. Yadayadayada. The facts are he's backed up by the "CJ lovers" everywhere as one of the best weapons in the league. Yet he has only had 1 good season. Has been outperformed by an aging player that couldn't touch his abilities. And when he's not, were constantly hearing arguments that he is in the wrong system, the coach needs to get him in space, he gets winded, or his ankle has a boo-boo. How about this, if he's that good he just is and we wouldn't be hearing any of this crap.
-
i think I've got to remove you from my block list now. i understand your point. It's noted. But seriously, the "bum ankle" think is just getting old. That's my point about being injury prone. Regardless of how many games he has missed. It seems were making this excuse for him every year. Excuses in general every year. This time it's the new coordinator and the bum ankle, when chan was here he gets winded. And of course there's been plenty of injury excuses along the way as well. So when are we going to stop making excuses for the kid? If he has another down year all were going to hear about is how EJ sucked and it effected him. Or how he had to split carries with Brown. Or how the team passed more. I'm willing to bet by the end of the season well be making some new excuse for him. But that's just me and my opinion.

NFL: Television vs Stadium Experience
mrags replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
your not oblivious. Your the educated one. People (and I'm not saying Code) are generally oblivious or live under a rock. They bring their children up in a way to shelter them from society and what really happens in real life. Again, not saying that about anyone here or that's why they don't like going to games. But when I hear people complain about the behavior it makes me wonder of these sheltered people have ever seen someone drink too much in their lives. -
yes. I do think Brown will be better than Spiller. And the coaching staff will most likely see the same thing as they keep Brown but not CJ next season. But time will tell. If you don't think CJ is injury prone or inconsistent im not really sure what to say other than I don't think you know jack about football or CJ Spiller.

Anything by Guns N Roses???
-
maybe because I believe that CJ is and will never be anything more than a situational back that consistently gets injured and is consistently inconsistent. He's also 4 years in and has not proven anything. I also believe Brown can and will be a feature back that can handle the load of being a feature back. To each his own.

NFL: Television vs Stadium Experience
mrags replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
in all fairness, unless you've NEVER been to a sporting event in your entire life, how could you not know things like this happen? I don't know your friend. I've heard stories like this in the past. People who know people heard a story. Such and such. I've witnessed those people at the games. They aren't usually as innocent as they say they are. Again, the whole 69,999 people might be great and the 1 @$$hole ruins it for everyone makes sense. I agree. But at the same time, it goes the other way about opposing teams fans. All it takes is a group of 4-5 of away team fans and 1 in that group being an @$$hole. Of course the others in the group will all say he did nothing wrong as well. I've seen some nasty away fans at The Ralph. From yelling. Calling Bills fans names. Degrading them. Spitting on them. Spilling beer. It goes along with the "on vacation party" type of scenario. When someone goes in vacation, be it the beach, Vegas, etc... Usually people tend to get crazy. These away team fans come into the Ralph and think they are untouchable. Like they can make an @$$ out of themselves and there's no worries about it because they are not at home. And as many would like to add that the Canadians are always a problem at The Ralph. They are not innocent in all this. Another angle of fan that's "on vacation" yet feel like they are at home. A good friend that work with that is part of security at stadium on game days has informed me that the majority (a huge majority) of arrests are Canadians. Take that however you'd like. -
i think your undervaluing Bryce Brown and Dixon. Fwiw, this coaching staff inherited these bum wheel RBs. It is known they went hard after Brown last year so they obviously have some sort of faith in him. My guess is, CJ won't be here next season because this coaching staff doesn't want him or believe in him. Freddy may make the cut if he stays healthy and takes a cut to make vet minimum just to be one of the leaders of the team. thats a no brainer. CJ won't be here. Bank it. He either sucks an we don't re-sign him. Or he has a stud year and wants too much money and we don't re-sign him. Either way, he's gone. And I'm personally good with it.
-
ill take a friendly bet. Brown will have more rushing yards and TDs than CJ.
-
your also arguing that based on the fact that Brown is listed as our 3rd RB and CJ the first. CJ will start the year and Brown will take over as #1 by week 8.
