  1. well. I wasn't betting. I was simply saying that if he ever got over 1,200 on the ground I would give you one for free. You need to produce nothing in return if I'm wrong. I'll even sweeten the deal and say he will never produce 1,700 yards of rushing and receiving ever again either. And it's not relatively difficult to rush for over 1,200 yards. It's not hard. The top RBs do it every season. At least the ones that should be paid $5m a year or more.
  2. thats actually more of what I meant. Doesn't mean he of it to punish him. My words. But more of a... You didn't pass. You never pass. We don't care your good so we usually let it slide. But because you've had the offseason you've had, were not letting it slide this time. Sends a message to him to get his head back on his shoulders.
  3. everyone keeps using this "being on the field is a distraction" argument. It's never worked. Our offense still sucks and it's been better without him on the field actually because Freddy does a better job. Is it Freddy? Maybe. Is it CJ not being as good? Maybe. Does CJ distance himself from an aging back who just like himself always seems to be hurt? Nope. And our WRs have almost never benefitted from CJ being on the field. Never. And Lynch needed to go. He wasn't worth the troubles. Hell, even the Seahawks realize that and won't resign the guy. And he's played much better for them than he has for us.
  4. hes a running back right??? Last I checked we like to count his yards in the ground for that position being more important. Again, other RBs get 400+ yards in relieving as well just like CJ but they actually out up yards in the ground too. But that doesn't matter considering it's his fluke season that will never happen again. I'll go out on a limb here with you Cletus , if CJ ever tops 1,200 yards on the ground again in his career I'll buy you one of those cheap knockoff jerseys you like so much.
  5. in a perfect world, you may be right. In reality, it doesn't hold up. If you don't think teams or players do things that are unwanted by the league but happen anyway then your being naive. It happens. That doesn't meant his is what happened in this case. I'm just stating a point in general.
  6. and chances are, not that it's justified, but that man is a multimillionaire for the rest of his life for the years that he served. Again, not that it's worth it, but it's not like he gets let out and, ok, find yourself a life. He'll be set for life after this. I'd say more than the 8 out of ten saying thy are innocent. And I'd definitely say more than 9 of the 10 really are guilty. And I must say that movies like Shawshank are horrible for what we do as a profession. It brings nothing but false stories that make us Officers look like thugs beating inmates for no reason and makes it look like the inmates are locked in their cells for 24 hours a day with no light, no window, slop on a bucket for food and a bed is a cold floor. Someone should make a realistic movie about how prisons are now days, with Packages of 30+ LBs of food and items come in from their families multiple times a year, colored flat screen TVs with cable in their cells (HBO included), commissary multiple times a month where they get to spend as much as they want on items like electric razors, snickers bars, potato chips, and ice cream. possession of personal amounts of refer aren't going to get you 5 years in prison. Maybe a few nights in jail, a fine, and that's about it.
  7. Chances are, that even the ones that are locked up unjustifiably are guilty of something. Most people aren't "in the wrong place at the wrong time" they are there and may have done nothing wrong but that doesn't mean they weren't with the wrong people. And that doesn't mean they weren't aware of what was happening. The few stories that you hear about a guy getting released after 20 years for some rape or murder and had nothing to do with it are extremely slim. It just doesn't happen. 2 that I know of in NYS in recent memory. Lou touched on one of them.
  8. Your correct. It's just an excuse by the team and a way to punish a player for being stupid.
  9. haha. I read it. And I laugh at you even saying 1,400 yards as he has never come close to that in his career. He's not worth more than a 3rd or 4th rounder based on his production and chances are we wouldn't get a 3rd for him but I'd do it in a heartbeat. You take what you can get for a guy that will be gone for no compensation and isn't really that good. Fwiw, I think it's funny how you've changed your tune a little here. From absolutely not getting rid of him no matter what to... If the deal was right. Apparently I'm making some people realize. And if we keep him, after a few games you'll be right where I am... Saying we should have taken what we could have when we had the chance for this underachieving loser
  10. all I keep hearing is excuses. stop making sense i don't know what part of that was a fail. The fact that Roscoe used to have a few plays a year that made most idiots want him in the team? Or the fact that most idiots thought he was much more than he really was. But the fact is that CJ is not much different than Roscoe Parrish. He gives you a couple plays a year that make you think he's something special when in actuality, he's always hurt, undersized, can't hold up in the NFL, over hyped, under performing, the list could go on and on. not ones that are underachieving, over priced, and will demand about 2x more than they are worth in terms of production.
  11. well, I searched for like 20 minutes trying to find plays where Spiller was tackled for losses or no gains. Unfortunately for me and very fortunate for you, people don't put "lowlight" videos on YouTube. But I can assure you, there's a lot more than the 25 plays you just showed me. And about 5 of those plays on that reel were nothing special. Hell, 2 of them were him running out of bounds like the idiot he is. Yeah, I've heard that argument before about screens being a part of his game. They are to other RBs too and the good ones still average more than 755 yards in the ground and 3TDs a season over their careers. But keep thinking he's good because he can rattle off 15 plays for a highlight reel. Roscoe Parrish used to do that too and he sucked. But you probably thought he was good too. I don't really care what you think about my football knowledge. At the end of the day, you think 755 yards and 3 TDs a year is good for a RB. You also make a lot of excises for people and you have hope that a player that has literally never been much better than average is a good RB. Keep it up. Looking good.
  12. it was that game that I decided to not be a fan until they fired Dick Jauron. I hoped for loses until he was gone. I didn't wait long. And you can't forget the comeback game of course. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet. And I'll add another game being the Miami comeback (let it snow, let it snow, let it snow) game with Jim Kelly on the sidelines going crazy. Unfortunately I wasn't at either of those games or I'm sore I would have them on my list.
  13. I agree OP. The only game that is close for me is the Dallas Monday Night game. The entire Stadiun was electric that night. Unfortunately we lost.
  14. you know oh else needed a chance? Rahsaan Salaam, Kikana Carter, Robert Edwards. But they never accomplished anything.
  15. oh. WGR. That says it all. I bet Mike Schoop came up with it. Most be true then. Regardless. Even if it was him. Even if he did say that. Doesn't mean anything other than posturing to get a contract. Byrd said similar things too.
  16. lol. Money bags. That's funny. 1,200 yards and like 7 TDs. If you call that money bags, I wonder what you say about good TBs that out up over 1,500 yards and 10+ TDs. No reason to think he's that kind of RB just because he had over 1,000 yards once in his career. And you can't use ankle injuries as an excuse, because it's just that. An excuse. Just like the other years of his career. Always an excuse as to why he doesn't perform. How about because he's just not that good. But you can keep making excises for him if you want. The ones that don't fall for that crap anymore just understand it's the norm every year anyway. Platoon RBs only happen when the guy that's supposed to be the starting giy isn't good enough to get it done on his own. For years you never heard these excises for MJD, Tomlinson, AP, Gore, Steven Jackson, Arian Foster, Chris Johnson, Ray Rice, The lost could go on and on really.
  17. thays fine. But were not arguing about Freddy. Were arguing about the underachievimg CJ Spiller and his average of 755 yards and 3TDs a season. Riveting!!!
  18. its funny. I don't have tickets for the 1st. I wanted to go too. I took 8 days off to be able to go up to camp, go to canton, and then back to camp again and I don't have a ticket for the 1st. So I want to go but for some reason I don't have the ticket in my stack of tickets. I'll have to contact my bills rep about that. I may be there. Not sore yet. I'll let you know.
  19. actually I was thinking that Whaley is smart enough to pull it off.
  20. agree. I hope smu doesn't ruin the confidence of some of these guys
  21. well, I truly hope you and everyone else is right about CJ and make me look like a fool. I'll concede to it 100% if I'm wrong. I'll love with that. And you don't know that about Brown. You can say that. You can assume that. You can base it off what some of the coaches have said, but I'll put $100 on it that Brown is in the team next year and CJ isn't. That, to me, sounds like a replacement if you ask me.
  22. He was getting burnt to a crisp by Sammy. Maybe they are saving his ego a bit and don't want him to get discouraged.
  23. denouncing the team you love because of some over rated under achieving RB... Makes sense. That's the problem with CJ. Tooany people are blinded by the flashy toy and think it's bigger than the team. doesn't mean they didn't try
