Taking timeouts with 5-6 minutes left.
mrags replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought it was a horrible thing at the time. And the only thing that made it any worse was the punt on 4th and 2 after you started taking timeouts. That was essentially the game. -
hicu is why a team in LA is a mistake. Even more to do there than in Miami.

Is it silly to think Rex Ryan might be our DC next year?

I was definately hoping for and expecting more pictures on that last link. You know. Just to make sure she really is a bad wife.

Yes. In a heartbeat

Oddly because it's a trust issie and they don't want anyone to fumble. Given that Fred has fumbled on them twice this year it's pretty darn ironic.
-
the way they did it sucked. No build up. No nothing. Even the actual shot was terrible. It was like a glimpse of it. Not happy the way it went down. And I kept hearing all this crazy talk on FB before I watched it. I was honestly let down by the episode. Thought it would be better.

ongoing list of imperative changes

Everyone wants to put way too much blame on Hackett. I'm over thy now. Over the past 4 games, Orton and the offense has had many, many opportunities to get the ball into the end zone and they have failed. When guys are wide open and Orton throws interceptions and balls that are no where near his recievers. That doesn't mean I want EJ in or anything like that, but we need to stop putting all the blame on Hackett. The plays that are called are there to be had. The execution is terrible. -
they have been doing this for decades.

probably correct about that. Or they didn't want anything too crazy. I'm sure there were options though. Why that was chosen was head scratching.

just becaise he had the ability to play sports at a high level doesn't mean he should be up on a pedestal. Many people who aren't famous or making millions of dollars a year deserve more than they get also. Police officers. Firefighters. Teachers. They all deserve more. They are entrusted with helping to teach our children and keep our families safe while doing it on much smaller salaries. Just becaise someone has the ability to run fast or tackle doesn't mean they've made anything of themselves. Plenty of flamed out athletes back up that argument. This all doesn't mean I don't feel sorry for Talley. But I'm not about to donate my hard earned money to someone that blew all his on coke and hookers in the 90s. i didn't mean to offend. You are who you are. That's fine with me. I'm not built that way. I may feel sorry for someone. But I'll never feel sorry enough to give them my hard earned money when they had a chance to fix their problems. And that doesn't mean I would donate to a lazy homeless person either. At one point I used to. Then I woke up and realized that most people are out into positions on their own doing and have chances to fix it but never do.
-
thats your prerogative to donate. But I feel your priorities are out of whack if your donating to someone and don't have a job yourself. But it's your call. the problem is many of these players knew what their bodies would be put through. And in the event that they had no idea. Do you really think any of them would have hung up the pads have they had known at the time? Most likely they would have asked for another shot of pain killers and suited up. I feel for him as a player that I ised to enjoy watching. But to feel bad for his situation becaise he blew all his money I don't. It also may have been a time where these players made less, but comparable to today's wages in the real world they were still well off. He's retired on over $50k a year. That more than most teachers or state workers get. And they didn't have the priveledge of making a few million at one time.

im not calling out anyone. But this NFL is different than it was 8-10 years ago. Small WRs in this days NFL don't last. That doesn't argue the point that Goodwin is a waste of a roster spot becaise he can't be counted on for anything. He gets injured walking onto the field.
-
Welker doesn't help your argument since he's injured more than any of those players. He can't finish a season either without having 3 concussions. Edleman is no different. I don't follow Hilton but I will hold back from anointing him the next great WR I'm this league.

I am actually shamed that people would donate money to a guy that has blown more money in his life than many of is will ever make. I know Talley isn't looking for handouts here and it's just someone taking it upon themselves to start up this donation. But man, people are donating to a guy that's lost more money than I'll make in my life. With that said, He's one of my favorites of all time.

I didn't add TY Hilton because I used 2 WRs that have proven to be good over extended careers. The jury is still out on Hilton. And besides, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. I don't believe the combine info one bit. Case in point- Aaron Maybin dropped everything he was doing to gain weight for the combine and gained 25lbs. It meant nothing other than a bunch of scouts measuring them for a weekend. Fwiw, you can say you only go by their combine weight because it is the only real "true weight". Other than why I explained you shouldn't pay any attention to that weight, is the fact that I pulled my weights right from NFL.com And my last point. If you can honestly say you've both of them play and both of their bodies and you actually think Marquise Goodwin is even close to as big as Steve Smith, you need to get your eyes checked.
-
doing a little bit of research would prove your extremely wrong. Marquise Goodwin- 5'9" 179lbs http://www.nfl.com/player/marquisegoodwin/2539964/profile Steve Smith- 5'9" 195lbs http://www.nfl.com/player/stevesmith/2504595/profile Wes Welker- 5'9" 185lbs http://www.nfl.com/player/weswelker/2505790/profile 5-15lbs of solid muscle is quite a bit regardless how insignificant you believe it is. And that's the numbers test. Based in the eye test, if actually offends me to think anyone could imagine that Marquise Goodwin is anywhere near as solid as Steve Smith. Laughable.

lol. I liked everything about it but shook my head with the jazz.

because people are idiots and have short term memories. Someone has posted before that Hackett is actually better than Gailey as far as stats are concerned. Well see this year that his record is better as well. Regardless who he has to work with. Chan was the HC and was able to pick everything he had on that team becaise he and Buddy tight together. But your right, it took him 3 years to figure out to use his first overall pick with the team. A player that he literally gushed over when he took him. To those that think Hackett is gone at the end of the year... Think again. I'll bet a beer at the TBD tailgate next year to anyone that thinks different.
