Season Expectations: What Am I Missing?
mrags replied to Flip Johnson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m with you OP. I keep hearing all these arguments about why we’re going to be terrible yet none of them add up. They could I guess, but it won’t be that dramatic. I’ve heard people calling for a 2-4 win season. These people are just on crack. Let’s go through all the big arguments. -the schedule is incredibly difficult. Answer- we said the same thing last year and how did that turn out? Guys get hurt everywhere. Our schedule could look really hard now, but what if we play multiple teams without their starting QBs, RBs, WRs, etc. -our Oline is terrible and we lost Glenn, Wood, Incognito. Answer- it was terrible last year and we did ok. Glenn didn’t play half the year and Dawkins is a beast. Wood really wasn’t that good and the drop off to Groy isn’t that far. As we’ve seen in previous years. Incognito is a loss for sure. Ducasse is a turnstile, but he is a vet and not clueless. But I’d expect Teller to be starting by mid season. -The loss of Tyrod hurts because he was good with his legs and hid a weak offensive line. Answer- if Tyrod was an actual good QB he wouldn’t have had to make so many plays with his feet. He was gun shy at the very least. He created plays with his feet but at the same time he was bad for the Oline in that regard. He puked never step up in the pocket, always turning his back to the line and running around all over. I bet if you asked the players on the line they were frustrated when they were responsible for a sack against them because the QB never did what he was supposed to do. -The LBs got worse Answer- I’ll agree for the most part. They at least didn’t get better. Not unless Edmonds is a ROY candidate on defense. Brown was a huge loss imo. Too many people I’ve heard over the years would complain about him and say he was nothing special. Those are the very same people saying our LBs are worse now and we have holes. Ironic. Alexander is a year older and slower. All we can hope for is that Edmonds has a really good year and Milano takes another step. We’re worse, but who knows how much. It depends on edmonds really. -our WRs are worse than last year. Answer- actually they are better. Benjamin to start the season which we only had for a few games last year. Another year in the system as wel and more repor with Peterman (they looked incredible in the 2nd pre season game together). Kerley is better than any other WR we had on the roster last year with the exception of Mathews who didn’t really play. Jones is back and as he wasn’t great last year, he’s in his sophomore year and SHOULD improve. At the very least, he most likely won’t be worse than last year. -Shady is older now Answer- and we don’t have that idiot Toldozer backing him up. We have Ivory who is a legit RB in this league. And imo, Murphy will actually be the backup to Shadybif he goes down. Ivory will stay the course and fill in when we need to pound the ball and chew up clock. With all all these things said, we could be worse. Sure. We could be a 7 win team or something like that. But 2-4 wins? Your fooling yourself. We will be a 7-9 win team at the least. If something goes incredibly wrong and we suffer a ton of injuries we could knock down to 5 wins. However if things go right and one of these QBs looks like the QB of the future, we could end up with 10 wins and ease into the playoffs again. -
Well, you are actually correct that these 3 didn’t start their rookie year. Or most of it. Bree’s has a game in there. But all 3 played behind 2 Hall of Famers within Favre and Bledsoe, and the other played behind the incredible Doug Flutie. Then Rivers played behind Brees who had a very good year Manning, and Big Ben both did play their rookie years. Ben pretty much started most of the way and Eli played about half a season. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RoetBe00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MannEl00.htm

Do we pull a Patriots and bring in Perriman?

So does Gugny and Bring Back Fergie but nobody is complaining about them. -

He has all the tools to become a legit WR in the league. Gotta hope that a change of scenery could do him some good. But it probably won’t. -
Yeah. You too. Glad you took time out of your busy day to tell everyone here on a message board what your takes are. Please, we’d rather you start gameplanning for Baltimore, get back to work.
-
Just because he has done it or can do it doesn’t mean he should.
-
Is this because the idiot on wgr right now is saying he should be an inside rusher? One idiot makes a comment and idiots everywhere have no mind for themselves and believe what they hear in the media. Gotta love it.

Sal Carpaccio: Corey Coleman Is In Trouble
mrags replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m sure he did. I honestly don’t remember. He’s not looked good at all. Other than the fact that he has incredible separation and ability to get open. If only he could catch the ball. -

This is true. Especially is Ray-Ray is out for more than a few weeks. Could easily just IR him. Give you an extra WR for now. By the time McCloud is healthy again, you’ll have another injury most likely. -

It’s like foster. He seems to have great separation, but his awareness to track the ball is horrible. He alligator armed the big deep pass from Allen, gave up on another from Allen, couldn’t keep his feet in bounds on another. And last night would have had a 2nd TD but his placement was all wrong after making his move around the CB into the end zone. -

This is starting to change my mind as wel. But more because in the 2 games he hasn’t done anything on the field. Was thrown to a couple times but no catch. It didn’t look like he was getting any separation when I watched him. Which could be an issue. You can all the speed in the world, but if you cannot use that in your football game, it means nothing. -
For Sale: Two Ravens/Bills tickets Section 529 Row 13
mrags replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Section 529? Where you watching from? The Orioles stadium? -
I still love it. Honestly, it needs to be calibrated a bit. I still get a little bit of an aura around the players in fast motion bits. Watching the Embedded clips on the tv come out kinda crumby. But that’s not the same. It’s still crystal clear as far as picture quality goes. And I’m sure there’s ways to cobraye it so that it doesn’t have the motion aura, but I’m too lazy and I like the picture so much as is. I don’t want to mess with anything.

[Vague Title] With Ray-Ray sidelined...
mrags replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most likely this will happen. But it won’t be Coleman. He’s making the team. It’ll be someone else like streeter, or Reilly, or O’Leary -
It most likely won’t be an option for most people for a long time. Give it a year for the prices to come down a bit.
-
I don’t believe Reilly makes it. But I also believe they keep 7. Holmes would be 7 for sure.
-
Why would I do all that when I can invite you and Gugny over to do that.
-
AJ was the only QB playing. Is he going to.be traded?
mrags replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We still have Powers wife, and Peterman and Allen’s girls are not bad at all. I’ll take what we got -
I’d imagine he gets a PS spot. But with a TD tonight and because of the separation, he may crack the 53. Benjamin Kerley Jones Coleman Streeter and then a spot for McCloud, but they may get out of that by IRing him for now. At the least, they could PS him and with the injury they could buy some time before anyone picks him up. Then possibly a 7th for either Foster, Reilly, Proehl, and I can’t think of anyone else worth it.

I’ll never be able to tel of the batteries are still working or not. It won’t beep for nothing while I’m near you.
