Gronkowski, Kelce, Graham, Ward - Why do fans want want a Randy Moss type?
mrags replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s besides the point. The point is, trying to find a legitimate WR to replace what we lost in both Diggs and Davis. And hopefully getting one that can be our future. With only drafting one, if you miss on the pick, you’re screwed. Should have taken another one. It increases your chances of finding your guy. And god forbid if they both hit and you need to feed them both the ball. Oh the horror. What would The Bengals do if they had to feed both Chase and Higgins. Or how about the Dolphins feeding both Hill and Waddle. you don’t have to have just 1 good player at the position. -

This is 100% what it’s all about. My dislike for Coleman is legit. But with the talent in the draft, especially in rds 2-5 that were still available and they went with depth picks. Guys that will never be more than backups at their positions (unless lightning strikes). Instead of throwing another body at the WR position. of course there’s no guarantee than any of those picks won’t be first ballot HOFers. Just like there’s no guarantee that a WR in rd 5 wouldn’t be. Just as factual that there’s no guarantee that Coleman will be any good. The point was their biggest need in the draft and this offseason was WR. And at that point they thought that 1 guy in rd2 was enough. Yet within weeks they also signed Claypool and MVS. They clearly thought they had needs there, and to pin all the hope that Coleman will be the guy is reckless. Should have snagged one more in the draft, enhance your odds of finding one that will work out. -

Right? I really like Kincaid. But he’s no Kelce. Or Gronk. Or Andrews. He’ll be a fine player but he’s not a game changer imo. -
He’s faster than Coleman, I’d pay him

Yeah expectations aren’t too lofty for him. -

Exactly what I was thinking. We just need one of the best 2 TEs ever in the league, or a HOF caliber WR. Or one of the most athletic gifted TEs ever. But don’t worry, we don’t need an elite talent catching balls from Josh Allen. lol -
Wasn’t Martin the Punter last season?

You aren’t taking into account how much weight a wrestler holds in McDermotts eyes. He could have one leg and the other could be gimpy, if he’s a wrestler, McDermott will find him a home.
-
He’s slower than Coleman but because he wrestled he holds more weight with McClappy

Not whiney. Just realistic about our chances

He’s not wrong. With the exception of 17 we’re soft as baby 💩

TBDAHOT: Who wants to golf on Saturday opening weekend?
mrags replied to SDS's topic in Tailgate Central
Similar situation for me. There’s a possibility I get stuck at work. Won’t know until a few days before. So I may be a last minute cancellation. I’ll keep you posted obviously -
It was $79. I remember seeing it right after he said that. Honestly think the price is jacked up because of the popularity of it.

Anyone will be happy to say that if they don’t have a Hill, Chase, Jefferson, Adams, Kupp, etc. and of course if you asked any of those teams that don’t have a “high priced” WR they would tell you in a heartbeat they want someone like one of those guys. The trick is, getting them on a rookie deal and getting the 5th year option on them. Anyone team that says different is full of crap. and even though the general consensus may even be that teams don’t want these guys, someone is still signing them to crazy contracts. Look for JJ and Chase to sign deals that are equal to the highest paid non QB contracts of all time when they sign.
-
Yeah I never said I was witty.

It’s about the only thing he does quickly. Ask him what he could do quicker, eat an entire box of chocolate chip cookies or run the 40 and he’ll be finished with the box before he gets out of the blocks.

Exactly where I’m at LABB. things that really stick out to me from what you said are the fact that people comparing McDermott to Reid. It’s funny that Allen is at the very least on a similar playing field to Mahomes. It took Mahomes for Reid to get it done. Compared to McDermott, even with Allen, he still can’t get it done. His players absolutely aren’t stupid. Yes I’m sure they respect him in many ways. But let’s be real, do we really think some of these older vets really fall for his corny crap? Diggs site didn’t. And that’s likely why he’s not here anymore. Or at least one of the reasons. yes we can be grateful for McDermott for getting us from the cellar to the playoffs every year. Great. But we need a guy that can get us to the SB now. And it appears he tops out every year in the playoffs. Imo because of his conservative approach once playoff football comes around. the fact that we have Allen and in his prime and they aren’t supporting him is incredible to me. Like you said, in a draft that was known for all the WR talent and we only came away with one guy despite needing 3-4 guys is amazing to me. And it’s not like they can get away with saying they were all set where they were firing the draft because right after the draft they went out and signed Cephus, MVS, and Claypool. Allen’s growth, as well as repport with his receivers is absolutely what’s going to take this team to the next level. I mean, unless we want to bank on LUCK that nobody gets hurt on D all the sudden. Or his defense gets lucky not giving up big plays at inopportune moments. yes, I firmly believe the only way this coaching staff ever wins a SB is if Allen goes full Nuclear God Mode in the playoffs. Exceeding all the possible blunders that McDermott might have ruining chances.

I want to be on your team. lol -
Nothing makes me want to puke more than the term “high level special teams player” anyone not named Hester, Hall can literally be found anywhere. Guys that cover the gunner positions and anything else can literally be performed by a monkey. I’ll give it to Gilliam at least he provides something at FB and even TE in a pinch. But the usage of roster spots on guys like Kumerow should never happen. If they aren’t going to contribute to an actual offensive or defensive position, it’s a waste. yes, I know. You and probably 3,000 other people on this board don’t agree with me and think I’m an idiot. I don’t care.
-
Yeah. I was dead serious. SMH talk about getting falling for the ruse
-
Well. It’s still a good idea. I don’t dislike Gilliam but what are you really getting out of him that says you can’t take a shot at this other guy.
-
Am I the only one that thinks that they should use this kid from England as a fullback? Playing rugby it’s literally the closest position on the football field to what he’s used to. Which would equal less learning pains. It would also allow you to have the extra player on the roster because of the exemption. We could carry 7 WRs, or since McDermott loves his DEs in a rotation so much he could get an extra body there.
