Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
mrags replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
You don’t think he could get fired if he doesn’t get us past the division round of the playoffs? Becoming the team that can’t get over the hump? It’s careless to think Beane doesn’t believe he has to get better or risk losing his job. All NFL coaches and GMs feel this heat. -

I think if we were to win a SB none of that matters. We could cut a bunch of people to save money and have a down year if we took home the Lombardi this season. Have one off year and then go back at it. Happens all the time. Look at the Rams last year. And the Bucs of 2020 as recent proof of these trends. -
I understand all this. But he’s the only one worth a first rd grade imo. At least for our needs. If we needed a smaller #2 with more speed, or a slot guy. I’d be thinking differently. But we don’t. We need a big physical WR that’s a freak. He is that. He’s really the only one in the draft that even sniffs if the first round. If we can’t get him, which I’m positive he’ll go in the top 15, then I say way for Tillman in the 3rd, or Perry in the 4th, or Palmer/Ford-Weaton in the 4th+. Just my opinion here. Maybe I should post it in that thread about who everyone thinks will end up being good picks
-
Well. Nobody thought we’d get Araiza out of the 3rd or 4th rd because he was just that good. and we managed to get him in the 6th. Maybe that’s because he was a rapist and other teams knew it and we didn’t. 🤷♂️

Take a peak. Dude looks good. Moves quick for a fairly large guy. 5’11” at 215. I think he’s got it to be an every down back in the league. -
Johnston would the only guy I’m happy with in the first round.

Yeah but then you have to sift through like 12 pages of crap -

I think we could go as early as the 4th rd if certain guys are there. Tho I don’t expect it. If you could get Kendre Miller in the 4th or 5th or Rochon Johnson in the 5th or 6th I’d say do it. -

I think the argument if he would have been worth it would have been put to bed had he not been injured and continued as he was performing through his first few games. But you will always find people that refuse to believe in a RB in the first round. hilariously, I am not all in on Robinson this year. I don’t see what makes him special. I get that everyone is saying he’s the best back to come out since Saquan. I just don’t see it when I watch him. I think there’s 2-3 backs that will end up being better from this years draft. But it also all depends on what teams pick them up and who they have to compete with. Chances are Robinson will go to a team that showcases him more than any other back this year. -

Yeah. Just wasn’t going to lead the league in rushing though. I was wrong about how he started. His first few games were definitely worrisome. But he came on like gang busters after a few games. Started to pick up steam for sure. -

I’m torn because I was correct on him when everyone else was so against the idea. Of course I’m joking though, of course I would rather benefit the Bills but it’s not like I hate him like Travis Kelce, or Patrick Mahomes. So I would like him to recover from his injury. I was just going back and looking also, he likely wouldn’t have been the rushing leader. But he absolutely was in the conversation of OROTY. -

I loved Woolen as well. His physical freakness was all I needed to be on board with him. And yes, 100% we were correct about Hall. He was shaping up to be the OROTY and possibly the league leader in rushing until the injury derailed him. For his sale, I hope he comes back and tears it up. For the Bills, I hope he never steps on the field again. I’m so torn. Lol -

I can’t even remember how long the Ertz thread was. I do remember the Mario Williams thread tho and that was pretty epic. -

I think it’s pretty obvious, it’s way more important to get this thread to epic proportions -

I firmly believe this thread will pass 100 tomorrow. If we sign him it’ll get to 200. Only way this thread doesn’t reach 100 is if he is traded to another team -

Yeah but They did break just about every offensive record in the history of the game that year. Passing TDs, Recieving TDs, points/gm, margin of victory, record number of wins… -

I’m sore I could figure it out in about 30 seconds by doing a search but wasn’t Watkins a pick made by Whaley? -
In the first the only WRs I like are Johnston and JSN. And I’m not 100% in JSN either but I’d take it at 27. But let’s be honest, he’s not dropping that far. No other WRs in the first please. Wait until RD 2 or 3 for a WR. Tillman in the 3rd, or Palmer, AT Perry, Ford-Weaton. id trade down for extra picks and try and take Washington in the early to mod 2nd. Unless his draft stock has raised that much. Wouldn’t be surprised if it has. id wait until the 4th or later and go with Sewell at MLB. I think his size and playstyle is what we need. A bigger(I know not as tall) more stout, and aggressive Edmunds. Seems to be more immovable and plays with fire. So I’d trade down hopefully to get some extra picks in the late 2nd or 3rd. Take Washington in the 30-40 range. Then take Bergeron, Jones, Wright or Mauch with pick 59. Then work the extra pick I acquired I’d go with Tillman, AT Perry, Rice. Then with the other 3rd rounder I’d take Ika or Benton or Sewel if available. After that I’d be trying for any combination of the following players. Coburn(DT), Rochon Johnson/Kendre Miller(RB), Palmer(WR), Ford-Weaton(WR), Brown/Johnson/Torrence/Hill(S), Scruggs/Patterson/Ekiyor Jr./Vorhees(IOL), Clark(DT).

That was Skooby -
Keep reading the thread. I’ve posted why

Too small for my liking. Of the 3 he’s probably the best. But if your going to go with that you are better off saving the high round pick and getting Dell in rd 4 probably. id much more prefer Hyatt to any of them and I’m not huge in him either. Think his college teammate Tillman will likely be better. I really like AT Perry, Palmer or Ford-Wheaton in rounds 2-4 instead.
-
Yup
-
I don’t want them period. If one of them somehow fell to the 2nd round then I guess I’d do it. But absolutely not in the 1st round. I’m not a fan of any of them for our current needs. We need a #1. Not another small WR. They don’t fit what we need imo.
-
Either get Campbell in the 2nd rd or Sewell in the 3rd or 4th Agree. It’s looking more and more like a high draft pick on IOL isn’t going to happen. Maybe someone like Vorhees in the 4th or later.
