I just read that myself. Very interesting. Muddy's the waters a bit, but I think we all (well, most of us) knew that group's intentions were to relocate the team.

While pitching wasn't the "problem" with the A's...they didn't have a shut down pitcher to match up against a Verlander or Scherzer. Seriously, using Straily and Millone against those studs wasn't a great option. Maybe Samardzija can help even the field a bit...if he continues to do like he did today (just got back the game). The A's have scored the most runs in MLB, offense may not be a problem.

Russell isn't going to help us (A's) this season (probably not even next). Getting two pitchers that could push the A's over the top this season will. I think Hammels will be gone by the end of the month. Maybe he could be used to nab a 2nd baseman we so desperately need. Bring back Tommy Millone, who has gone 6-0 w/ an ERA under in the last 2 mos. The A's need to lock up the division, as the Angels are not going away....and no, another 1st round exit isn't acceptable. They do need pitchers to go up against the Tigers. No other staff scares me like they do. Hopefully Samardzija is that guy push us over the top.

Thanks for the responses. She'll be playing a fall sport, so she'll have to get there earlier than the rest of the college. From what we've heard (she'll be a Freshman) there was a always a short overlap. Then I heard they'd be staying at Fisher a week longer due to the construction at The Ralph. Got my hopes up. Then crashed when I saw the schedule today. Thanks Jay for the info about Pittsburgh.

Not overly happy about this. My daughter will be going to Fisher in the Fall. I had planned on catching at least one of the open practices. Nope, we'll be back Aug 13-18....no open dates during my time there (fly back on the 18th). Oh well. I'll have 3 more years to for the Bills to coordinate their schedule w/ me

It would still be Buffalo Bills .... 49ers moved out of SF to the South Bay ~ Santa Clara / San Jose area (40 miles south) and will still be called the San Francisco 49ers. I don't see a change for Buffalo if this were to happen.

I seem to recall Jacksonville had an issue w/ their total hotel rooms. Didn't they have to bring in cruise ships to accommodate people? While looking that up, I also noticed the NFL requires the host city to have 30,000 quality hotel rooms. I'm assuming that means the nearby communities as well. I don't even think Buffalo has a fraction of that amount (if you are counting quality). It's not going to happen.

Yes, but Cleveland gave us a 1st Rd pick back in the deal, so just cancel this years 1's out. We are out next years picks only.

Wow, some people just can't grasp the idea w/ swapped #1 draft picks and gave Cleveland two picks next season, thus only losing 2 picks (next year's picks). We still picked in the 1st round...just sooner. Cleveland still picked in the 1st round w/ our pick....just at #8 (after their 2nd trade). That's a wash; a one for one deal. Take those off the board. What's left....those picks for next season we gave them to move up. This thread is so frustrating to read because people just don't get it.

By chance every year, my daughter has a volleyball tournament in Reno encompassing the draft weekend. Figured since the draft would be later this year, I'd finally be home. Nope, another tourney in Reno....so I'll be driving up listening to the NFL on SiriusXM once again on the drive.

I was surprised at this as well. I had no idea how he was treated previously until I spoke w/ someone who had some knowledge about his treatment. I was shocked to hear there was no chemo and/or radiation involved. You can always play the "what if" game...but when you're dealing w/ cancer, I'd think you'd to try to win that game w/ all you had available. Now we're dealt w/ that proverbial..."what if."

40-something here who thought Bruno did quite well. Having a couple teenagers in the house helped w/ recognition. Solid choice this year, even though he wasn't well known. I really don't want to see old bands; ie The Who anymore. I want to remember them for what they were, not the sad shape most are in today. Keep it contemporary; How about Pink? I'd go for Macklemore too.

Bills first and foremost. I cannot like another team. I do root for the team that plays the 49ers, just to shut up the local fan base (the Raiders are too bad to have a rooting interest against). Honestly, my 2nd favorite team is my fantasy football team.

My first Bills game I watched on TV....Fergie to Ahmad Rashad w/ about 1:00 left for the come from behind victory on MNF in '74. I was 6 yrs old, cheered so loud my father got PO'd and sent me to bed. Obviously he didn't want me to see my future as a Bills fan, as the Raiders almost drove down the field and scored on a game winning FG that missed as time expired. Might be the only time the opposing team team didn't win vs. the Bills when they had a come from behind opportunity in the final seconds. We were just in WNY so my daughter could visit colleges. We went to Fredonia and SJFC. Sorry, SJFC was nicer...plus the Bills are paying to renovate the athletic building/department before next training camp (and put in a new turf). As someone whose daughter will be playing sports in college, the nice facilities are a plus. Thanks Bills. Stay in Pittsford!! As someone mentioned, Pittsford was/is a lot nicer too. Curse? Bah.

Really? Sure...daughter in a national qualifier tournament in Reno this weekend, as they do every NFL draft weekend. Volleyball? Black/White ball, 8ft net, small court, six girls on the court. Usually see several NFL players w/ their daughters, Dilfer (who usually doesn't show this weekend), Lott, Stubblefield, Eric Davis to name a few...thanks my NFL fix this weekend. I'm usually checking my phone to see who the Bills draft all weekend as it goes thru Sunday. Not thread-jack worthy....
