  1. It's not like Sammy played for us anyway. He's missed 13 games over the last couple of years (and had nagging injuries in many he played which limited him). Matthews, hopefully, will at least be on the field. He's been fairly productive too. Darby? I won't miss him. Did the Bills send fire extinguishers to Philly, because he will continue to get burned there too. I think Gaines is guy who will fit our D scheme better. I'm good w/ all this...plus draft picks!
  2. I sent a message to those in charge of last years Rams / Bills festivities. Hopefully I'll hear back w/ something positive. It'd be a shame if nothing was being done.
  3. I just locked in my time off for the game. I checked the local SoCal Bills Backers clubs and didn't see anything organized. I was at last years Rams game / tailgate. Totally forgot about that beer line. I got there early, grabbed a couple when there wasn't a line. Then gave up getting any more. Food trucks were a nice touch, esp the garbage plate truck. I too wish the Chargers hadn't moved. It would have been a lot nicer (fan wise). Hopefully we'll here of some plans soon (last year it was already in the works).
  4. Bad humor ... she plays collegiate volleyball there, they start team training before college starts up. They've been there w/ the Bills for the past 3 season (many more before she arrived). Any yes, they're put into a different residential hall than the Bills.
  5. Jumping into this a little late...Sucks training camp will be cut short a week. I drop my daughter off at Fisher a day after camp breaks. It's been a blast the three previous years getting to see camp. Oh well. My question, does anyone know if they'll have open camps once they get back to Buffalo? I know they have one in early August, but wondering about after the move. My two cents, I hope they stay at Fisher. It's done a lot for the Rochester area and with the money given to Fisher, it's helped them build up some nice facilities. It seems like a perfect match.
  6. Here's my take, didn't feel like reading through 7 pages to see if it was brought up. Why would Giz lie? She's around Tom more than anyone else. She knows him better than anyone else. Maybe she does want him to retire sooner, but I'd believe her before I believed the NFL or Patriots. Both of them have agendas to keep an eye out for...gotta keep the face of the league / team out there. She has an agenda too, but it's to keep Tom healthy and look out for his best interest.
  7. I was just thinking, they usually pick up a local kid. There he is!!
  8. You can give some people a mountain of cash, they'd be upset because they'd have to pay taxes. It could be the first sunny day of the year w/ temps in the 70's...they'd complain it's too hot. 90% of Bills fans are happy w/ what's occurred thus far...then there's guys like this.
  9. I'll be in WNY visiting my daughter in September, so I'll take the family to the Denver game. Then head down south to see the LA Chargers game too.
  10. Location ... Location ... Location If it's where I live now...the possibilities are endless. If it were in Arizona or Nevada; not a whole heck of a lot. Let's assume it's where I live, I'd probably sell most of it off (so I don't have to worry about what's going on in the back-40 - people growing pot on the land). I'd use the money from the sale to build the estate of my dreams (keeping a couple/few acres for myself). I looks like I could get about $2.5 for about 100 acres ... http://www.landwatch.com/Sonoma-County-California-Land-for-sale/pid/25037646
  11. and that one three years ago wasn't really a rainout. It rained a couple days before the next scheduled A's home game, but they forgot to put the tarps on. It left the field unplayable when they were actually supposed to play a few days later. I recalled a few years back, watching a game and they made a comment that the A's had only been rained out an amazing small number of games. A's just tweeted me back...22 times in their 50 years in Oakland.
  12. Exactly!!!! We have 6 picks in this draft. We have so many needs to fill w/ those few draft picks. Losing picks and moving up (esp if we give up a 1st in next years draft) to get one of these QB's is crazy. Best case scenario, given a willing partner, trade down and gain more picks.
  13. Going to my Sis/Law's house in Oakland....preparing for a miserable time. Small house in the Oakland hills, small enough where we can only utilize one room (combo living room / dining room). No yard, due to a steep slope...it'll be raining (apparently the CA faucet is stuck in the "on" position and won't turn off), so we'll be stuck inside anyway. She's invited 20 people (many not family to make it more awkward) to cram into their place. She'll also be picking up a meal from Boston Market. A's and Warriors will be playing a few miles away...tempted to sneak out, then again it'll be raining. Good thing she won't see this... I'm looking forward to Easter this year...sigh. Last year we visited family in Buffalo.
  14. I was surprised too. $2 for a flight of four as well...can't beat it. My daughter goes to college in Rochester, so whenever I get back...I try and go and see what they have to offer. Three more weeks!! Times are a changin' ... so we may also say 2018, but that's a different topic.
  15. Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek and even into Mendocino....they all use the Russian. Must be great for beer and wine. That's why I don't give a hoot where the water source comes from...good is good.
  16. and one of the best brews made in the world ... made here in Sonoma County (Pliny the Younger) gets it's water from the Russian River. I'd never step into that cesspool, so what are you trying to say?
  17. That may not be a bad thing...they have some pretty good craft beers inside their brew house. Nice view of the High Falls too
  18. That's how I started. We have dozens of trails in the 3-4 mile range in our area w/ elevation. That's what I usually do, just to get out and get some exercise. That's an easy 1-1.5 hr hike (not much a time commitment) . If I go 6 miles, a couple hours. I usually don't go much further, then I have to worry about things like extra water, snacks, etc.. It's peaceful, plus you get to hang out in nature. Like someone said, that's never a bad thing.
  19. It's something I've wondered about myself, but if I have on my hiking boots, on dirt trails, climbing up hills / mountains, crossing creeks...generally out in nature; it's a hike to me. Sometimes I'll just do the sneakers and stroll around a lake on a paved trail, I guess that's a walk. I'm still walking either way, one just happens to be on a more rugged course.
  20. Maybe he should give "The Bachelor" a go...
  21. Apparently nobody uses Facebook, it appears they may go under. I use both and Twitter. Since I've gotten into hiking, I enjoy taking pics as I go along and share them on Instagram. I use Twitter to get the last info, since it's usually posted there first. Facebook to keep up w/ friends and family.
  22. Quite popular here in Sonoma County. I don't play, but I see a few courses along the hills where I hike. On the weekends the courses are packed.
  23. Patriots will snatch him up, won't care about the failed physical and he'll be the key for them winning another Super Bowl.
  24. My parents are from Buffalo, but I was born and raised in Northern California...but for a brief moment in time (early 70's), I lived in Buffalo after my parents got homesick. They apparently came to their senses and moved us back to NorCal shortly after their cross country move. We always had family back in Buffalo, so we visited often as a kid. My father was always a Bills fan, so I assume I just followed his lead. I never had any interest in the Raiders or 49ers (maybe a slight interest in the Raiders since they trained here in Santa Rosa while I was growing up). My earliest moment, recalling my Bills-fandom was watching the Bills coming back in beating the Raiders on MNF in the 70's (Ahmad Rashad's game winning TD). I was besides myself. I've been to a couple Bills games in Buffalo, but mainly games here along the west coast. We somehow managed to send our oldest daughter across country to go to college, where she attends St John Fisher. It's great, she plays a fall sport so when we drop her off, Bills are still in training camp. Awesome experience!! With her going to college in Rochester, I'm still able to get back to WNY and Buffalo quite often.
