  1. You're not overly "optometrist"?? What a coincidence, I'm not overly endocrinologist! ... Nobody caught that through seven pages of banter????
  2. They screwed up the Clements thing. No way was he worth 8/$80M, but we should have gotten SOMETHING back for him. From what I heard, he refused to sign the one-year franchise tender and instead made the FO give him a one-year deal for the amount with it written in that they would not franchise him again. I can't believe the FO fell for that. I'm hoping that was a Marv mistake that will not be repeated after his absence. And the team is fundamentally flawed. Look no further than the head coach.
  3. Whoa whoa whoa, slow down here. 1) Why can't Omon be cut, or at least relegated to the practice squad? 2) Do NOT trade Lynch for anything less than a Julius Peppers. 3) 28 year-old Fred Jackson and oft-injured Kevin Jones to replace Marshawn? Seriously? No thanks. 4) Nobody wants to trade for a 28 year-old RB, I promise.
  4. There's a big difference between $4M/year (what the Bills offered) and $5.75M/year (what he ultimately got from New Orleans). He also certainly got more guaranteed from New Orleans.
  5. None of this matters anyway. Nobody can cover someone for six seconds. If we don't develop a pass rush we won't make it to the playoffs, plain and simple.
  6. You are 100% spot on with that. Letting Pat Williams go was the worst move we've made in the last decade.
  7. Does he have the speed to play the outside??
  8. Galloway is 37 and only a season removed from three consecutive 1000 yard seasons. But he's a burner who's getting old, not much in the way of a prototypical possession WR. I don't mind bringing him in for a visit and if we can get him for $1M/year or so to COMPETE with Hardy and S. Johnson then by all means. Either he surprises some people and has a little left in the tank or we cast him aside like the has-been he ultimately is.
  9. If you listened, I believe Russ Brandon said "we would love to have Jabari back in the mix next year" which says to me "we'd love to have you back, but at the right price." I think that's 100% correct. Of course they wanted him back, but they had a number they didn't want to cross and to their credit they didn't. After weeks of negotiations failed and it was obvious Greer wasn't coming back (hence visiting with Tampa, Detroit, New Orleans) they did the prudent thing and signed Florence to play the nickel at a fraction of the cost, freeing up money for other positions. Great move by the FO.
  10. Greer is good. Florence is good, too. The problem is Jax thought he was great and paid him as if he was. When he proved to be only "good" he was labeled a "bust," and cut. There will be little drop-off, if any.
  11. No. No no no no no no no!!
  12. Agreed on McGahee over Henry. That was considered a value pick but we should have gone elsewhere in retrospect. Disagree on Lynch - he's proven to be a very solid RB and we couldn't afford what McGahee and that bloodsucker Rosenhaus wanted (we were right to trade him the year before - notice he's a backup now). Disagree on McKelvin - his ceiling is higher than both McGee and Greer. No question. On the fence about Poz. I was a big London Fletcher fan but he was 33(?) when we let him go. He couldn't play forever. Disagree on Whitner. Milloy was a liability in coverage and just getting worse with age. Whitner is a young talent we can build around and has the flexibility to play FS or nickel CB if needed. And your "super bowl" argument...keep that one off the message boards for your own good. It doesn't make any sense...
  13. If you try and trade Greer you get hit with a salary cap penalty (look it up). Also, what do you think the trade value is of a guy like Greer? When was the last time you saw a mid-level CB traded? In fact, aside from Champ Bailey, when was the last time you saw ANY CB traded?? Listen to Ramius, he's right on with this one. Greer was good, not great. I'm glad he got a good contract from New Orleans, but don't forget: so did Jason David.
  14. They went 18-1 after letting those guys go!!!! Do you think, after letting Vrabel and Cassel go, that those were the centerpieces of the organization and we will finally beat them? Seriously?? Please don't ever run a football organization.
  15. Is that really your argument? I just wanted to make sure before I responded.
  16. Angelo Crowell will not be back with Buffalo. Redskins to pursue Crowell?
  17. Yes...excellent point...
  18. Where is Milloy playing? He just got cut by Atlanta. I'm sure he got signed by somebody but Whitner is definitely an upgrade (even if he was a reach at #8). I liked Fletcher but Poz will be a solid MLB for years to come. Fletcher was growing old in the tooth. What is with people saying we are drafting Jenkins?? We are not drafting a CB the first day!! We've got so much depth there - unlike a year ago - it's crazy. If they let McGee walk it'll only be because Youboty or Corner have stepped up. McGee isn't a "shut-down" corner either. He isn't irreplaceable. Keep guys when it's prudent and responsible to do so (i.e. Evans, Peters). Let expendable players walk. There's a reason that Patriots are consistently competitive. They understand who they can let go (Vinatieri, Ty Law, David Givens, Deion Branch, Mike Vrabel, Matt Cassel, etc. etc.) and who they can't (Brady, Seymour, Wilfork, Matt Light, etc.).
  19. It depends on how well Youboty does this year. If he beats out Florence for the nickel and proves he's starting material we might not even re-sign McGee. Same proves true for Reggie Corner. It doesn't matter who's playing corner anyhow if we can't get a pass rush...
  20. What is the problem here?? That's what any good football team does. McKelvin will have a better career than Greer. Milloy was getting old, Whitner was an upgrade. McGahee is overrated and we ditched him at the perfect time (before the bloodsucker Rosenhaus tried to dig his talons into Ralph) - notice how he's the backup in Baltimore. Fletcher was getting old too and Poz is a prototypical MLB. I'm not sure I understand what the grievance is here. We draft younger players to replace older ones. Welcome to the NFL.
  21. I don't think you guys understand what a "shut-down" corner really is. Greer was absolutely NOT one.
  22. By the end of Ruben's career in Buffalo he couldn't pass block worth a lick. But he was a very good player overall into his early 30's.
  23. Guys - the Bills didn't draft McKelvin #11 overall to play the nickel. He started after Greer went down in week 10(?), meaning he had fewer starts but just as many interceptions (2), is considerably younger, and has a much higher ceiling. I liked Greer, but I think a lot of you are looking at him with rose-colored glasses on. Don't forget, he barely made the team the year before last.
  24. He is NOT a "shut-down" corner. Champ Bailey is a "shut-down" corner. Deion was, so was Darrell Green. Please don't use that terminology with Jabari (whom I like very much, fyi).
  25. You don't just spend money for the sake of spending it, that's retarded. Greer had two interceptions last year people. He wasn't Champ Bailey. When McGee comes up for a new contract we're going to have to pay him - we couldn't afford to pay three starting CB's salaries, hence the purpose of the salary cap. That extra money will go towards Jason Peters (ugh), upcoming draft picks, and any other free agents worth the $$. Greer reportedly (http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/billsnfl/story/597816.html) signed for $23M over four years (http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afceast/0-6-21/Greer-thanks-Buffalo-on-his-way-to-New-Orleans.html). The consensus is that McGee is the better corner, although if the FO really thought Jabari was starting material in this league we should have matched it and shopped McGee. But throwing money at the nickelback is the kind of move that gets us back in salary cap hell. There is a difference between being cheap and being prudent. This was the latter.
