That...that doesn't make any sense. Actually, that wasn't all that far from what you were talking about. Are you sad that people jumped on you for drinking the wrong beer and not knowing your WNY geography? Awww. I'm sorry to hear that! I guess I could respond with a list of all the charitable things I do and pit them against a list of your owwn but that would make us both look like d-bags. But I like how people on the internet have the balls to say things like "STFU" behind a keyboard. Why was it offensive, exactly? Because I mentioned race? (Gasp!) Get over yourself. Thanks for the advice. Another guy who feels empowered by the lack of face-to-face communication. D-bag.

First of all, go !@#$ yourself. Second of all, it was an analogy. For some reason, people like you and KnockOut30 can't seem to get those.

I completely disagree. I'd put solid money on that whomever signs him this year will get more sacks out of him than we will out of any individual on our defensive line. He had one bad year with a dysfunctional Washington team after a freak life-threatening calf injury. I think Foxboro is a definite possibility as he has shown the versatility - unlike Peppers - to play OLB as well as DE. He'll also come a lot cheaper and won't require any draft picks. Maybe not quite the upside of Peppers but the risk would be minimal. I do not want to face him in a Patriots uniform this year. I'd love for the Bills to sign him but my "sources" (heh heh) tell me he's going to Tampa if Miami doesn't want him back.

Agreed. These contracts are really getting out of control, thanks to the Jake Long and Haynesworth deals. Just because one guy is overpaid then the rest of them want to be overpaid. It's all a race to see who can be the most overpaid. That's why I'm scared to death of a capless year and would love to see the Jerry Joneses and Daniel Snyders of the league just...die. I really think, in my heart of hearts, that Jerry Jones is the Antichrist. Have you seen this man? Sorry, I guess this is getting a bit off topic here...
-
Agreed, if we could sign him. My only concern is that two years ago he only had 2.5 sacks. Then, playing for a contract he had 14.5 sacks. That would worry anybody. But I'm more worried about the FO evaluating talent at the DE position in this year's draft. And I'd still love to land Jason Taylor for a two year deal and let him practice at home in Miami until the first pre-season game, but now you know I'm on drugs...
-
He's never played OLB in a 3-4. There's no way he gets anywhere close to $100M at that position. My money says he signs the tender and plays DE in Carolina's 4-3 again this year.

They seem to have worn off apparently...
-
spine surgery this morning, sorry...
-
Is this board overrun with Brits?? It's "defense," not "defence." And I don't think a lack of a 3-4 is what's keeping him from going to Buffalo. I've also heard he wants to, but he knows he's worth more as a 4-3 DE (that's why T. Suggs lost it when he got franchised as an OLB compared to getting franchised as a DE). Based on what?? They still have glaring holes. You can't expect to go into the draft and fill needs at DE, TE, OLB, and LG. I'd say it's about 70% likely they are NOT done in FA. That being said, I don't have any delusions of JP (couldn't resist) coming to play DE for us. He's due to get almost $17M this year alone. I ran into him last week at Wegman's. He talked smack and I beat him at a little 1-on-1.

Then start your own god damn beer thread...

Yeah, and blacks said the same thing about the 13th amendment when they were in the fields picking cotton. Then they said the same thing until Rosa Parks wouldn't give up her seat. "It's a dumb idea." Actually it's a great idea, and if you really were a fan you'd do what you could to see it come to fruition. Sorry if it isn't the "investment vehicle" you were looking for, but ask any true fan of the Green Bay Packers if they really mind. Thank you for explaining it. Not sure why it's so difficult to comprehend. It's not about being an investment, it's about taking the utmost pride in your team and doing what any other fan would beg to be able to do. I assume all of this talk is sarcasm, right? It's not like the Packers voted on what to do with Favre.

I'm sorry if this comes off as "smug" (although I'm not from Rochester), but would you people please shut the !@#$ up?? Look at the thread title: "a publicly traded team," and you jackasses have hijacked the thread to talk about beer and geography. Jesus Christ...
-
I couldn't agree with you more. Too bad the jackasses that responded were too busy talking about beer and geography and completely ignored your comment. For the record, this was discussed - albeit briefly - in another thread: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...p;#entry1364671. As Orwell said, "if there is a hope it is in the proles." Then he proved there was no hope. But here was my $.02 before:

No. Well, just a little...

Report: Chiefs TE Gonzalez wants trade
Leonidas replied to UBinVA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Gotcha. Didn't see that was implied. Tony won't play more than two years anyway so regardless we should be drafting a TE in this draft. It just depends on where we take him - if we get a Sheffler or a Gonzalez we can take a second day TE (and watch him fan out like Tim Euhus); if we don't, we should take one no later than round three. -
Yeah, I think I said the same thing about three weeks ago and Magox or KnockOut30 jumped all over me for it...

Report: Chiefs TE Gonzalez wants trade
Leonidas replied to UBinVA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What?? Wait until '10 to draft our TE of the future?? Why not wait until '14? I hear there are some nasty kids coming up through high school now... Why is that? Because he ran a slow 40? You know he ran the exact 40 Heath Miller ran, right? He's certainly more than a blocking TE for Pittsburgh. -
Titans @ Steelers for Thursday night season opener

When was the last time the Bills didn't sell out a home game in December? Who cares if the scalpers can sell tickets, I want to see the Bills in Buffalo in the snow! -

Bills can stay in the Buffalo / Niagara region if........
Leonidas replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look, if the market is working against you, what do you do? Get the government involved. Write Byron Brown, Chuck Shumer, David Patterson (quickly, while he's still in office. Better yet, make him an audio tape (sorry, couldn't resist)), whomever your local Erie County representatives are and get them involved! Work towards getting influential community members involved: Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Danny Wegman, Tom Golisano, Luke Russert; get petitions going, get signatures, make this an issue!! Let the people in charge know that we will not go quietly into the night! -
