  1. uhh, that's 'Levon'...
  2. Do we have to go over this again? Pro day times are NOTORIOUSLY unreliable. The fact that he ran a 4.89 at the Combine is not something you can just write off, fast first step or not. He played at 234, then shot up to 249 and ran terribly in Indy. I think we're going to look back on this day two or three years from now and wonder why we didn't take Orakpo. But I hope I'm wrong on this.
  3. A large part of the draft depends on how Maybin turns out. He's got a major boom or bust factor. We won't know on that front for at least a year or two at the earliest.
  4. Seriously? MISSION FAIL Levi Jones was the 10th overall pick in the '02 draft. He was considered a definite reach that day, considered to be a serious drop off after Williams and McKinnie. But he proved he was just as good as McKinnie, and obviously better than Williams. He's had a solid career with Cincy, but the injury bug has caught up to him as of late.
  5. Guys, McGee is gone. The writing's on the wall. He's getting too old to return kicks, and we brought in fourteen CB's to compete for his job. Enjoy your last season in Buffalo, Terrance. Thanks for stopping by.
  6. Sweet!
  7. ...will be back I take it??
  8. That remains to be seen...
  9. Perhaps. I was thinking Meredith too, but that would be an awful lot of OL's. Don't get me wrong, I love the depth. But at some point you run out of spots to put these guys. Jasper Brinkley maybe??
  10. that's the kicker
  11. So he's 'developed' to a 'legitimate #3'? What does that even mean? Does Hamdan stand any sort of chance to be a starter? Probably not. Your third QB is supposed to be a project anyhow. If this kid's got a shot and you want to take a flier on him in the seventh then so be it.
  12. If he's available in the sixth or seventh...
  13. Are you new to this board? That doesn't stop anybody here...
  14. ...and he doesn't have a rotting patella tendon...
  15. I've never seen Jauron smile. Should I be excited/scared? I guess the plan is to kick Butler out to OT. I'm impressed the way the FO has addressed the line in this draft. But whether the '09 draft is a boom or a bust rests on the shoulders of Aaron Maybin and, like it or not, how Orakpo develops as well.

Durability 3 2008: Slowed by hamstring injury. 2006: Plays with a fractured hand and sprained ankle. Character 3 2006: Benched for first half of Houston game for missing curfew and character needs to be further investigated. Tight End specific Traits Ball Skills 1 A big target and natural pass catcher. Uses long arms to pluck the ball out of the air and doesn't have to break stride to haul it in. Does a nice job adjusting to balls thrown behind him and shows good body control for size. Separation Skills 2 Generally gets a clean release coming off the line. Quick enough to separate from most linebackers and big enough to shield defensive backs from the ball. Does a nice job of setting up breaks and then sticking cuts when working against man coverage. Doesn't appear to read defenses that well and has some problems locating soft spots in zone coverage. Blocking 3 Needs to develop a violent punch and get more push once in position. Reliable blocker in space. Does not have the size to consistently hold own as an in-line blocker at the NFL level but has improved in this area. Moves feet well and gets into proper position. Gets adequate hand placement and flashes the ability to stay engaged with defenders. Takes good angles to downfield blocks and can cut off linebackers at the second level. Toughness 2 Good overall effort. Willing to go over the middle and lay his body on the line to make reception. Showed willingness to play hurt during the 2006 season. (See durability) Big-Play Potential 2 Clean release and good top-end speed allow him to stretch the middle of the field. Strong runner after the catch and can turn a catch underneath into a big gain.
  18. Break something else after the Maybin pick yesterday??
  19. I don't care what type of person he is. Is he a substantially better TE than Fine? Give me Sidbury, and really shake things up on this defensive line. Put Schobel on notice.
  20. +1 on Sidbury. We did it last year with CB's and WR's. Schobel's time is coming up, give this guy a shot. Could be another Osi. It would legitimize the draft for me, since I'm not sold at all on Maybin.
  21. Lawrence Sidbury is still available...
  22. So much for Chase Coffman...
