  1. Is Michael Oher dancing?? http://sports.espn.go.com/videogames/featu...861&game=23
  2. This is insane. But I do miss the 12:00 start time, and I miss three rounds in one day. It's like halftime got moved earlier, and I don't trust our FO to make second-half "adjustments." I like going out Saturday night having three rounds under my belt. But I do like the ten minutes between picks instead of fifteen. Spare me the "millions of dollars" whining, too. Draft boards are done, scenarios are in place. Sh-- or get off the pot.
  3. Those aren't even close. Also, Freeney ran a 4.38 at the Combine.
  4. Thanks for the info, TG. Does McDaniels know what he's doing? Methinks not...
  5. How do you make a 7th rounder conditional, exactly? If he gives up xx sacks, it goes from a 7th rounder to a bag of footballs?? Shhh. Don't ruin their fun.
  6. Am I the only one who thinks we should keep Kelsay, if at a discounted rate (which he'd be sure to take)? Schobel is going to be 32, Maybin istill playing at SS weight, and Chris Ellis has done nothing to prove he's anywhere close to ready. I don't like Kelsay's production (or lack thereof), but we haven't addressed that position well enough to just send him packing in my opinion.
  7. Let's try this again. Have any of you seen Scheffler Jones play???
  8. C- for a third round QB that's to this point out-performed all the other QB's from that draft class? Harsh.
  9. I sort of meant the draft as a whole, but whatever...
  10. Be happy. You might not get the chance opening night. Besides, you nailed the Raiders reach. Have a beer on all of us!
  11. They say it takes 2-3 years before you can really determine if a draft was any good, so I thought I'd go back and see what people thought in retrospect about prior drafts. Three years ago ('06): 1 (8) - Donte Whitner, S 1 (26) - John McCargo, DT 3 (70) - Ashton Youboty, CB 4 (105) - Ko Simpson, S 5 (134) - Kyle Williams, DT 5 (143) - Brad Butler, OL 6 (178) - Keith Ellison, LB 7 (216) - Terrance Pennington, OT 7 (248) - Aaron Merz, G Two years ago ('07) 1 (12) - Marshawn Lynch, RB 2 (34) - Paul Posluszny, LB 3 (92) - Trent Edwards, QB 4 (111) - Dwayne Wright, RB 6 (184) - John Wendling, S 7 (222) - Derek Schouman, TE 7 (239) - C.J. Ah You, DE Go ahead, grade away.
  12. Jesus, you're such a crotchety old man. These guys have clearly put in weeks and weeks of studying what teams need while representatives of those teams are deliberately misleading them for their own gain. McShay and Kiper do a great job of breaking down players for our entertainment. Do they get everything right? Obviously not. But for the life of me I can't figure out why people complain about them time and time again.
  13. Shameful load of picks? They didn't give up all that much. "Five-technique" DE Kenyon Coleman, QB project Brett Ratliff, reserve DB Abram Elam (who ruined the Bills last year), a 1st and a 2nd. Sounds like a lot, but it's not an epic trade. It all depends on those players, though. Mangini obviously liked them from his time in New York. Sanchez doesn't have to become John Elway to make the trade worthwhile. He's already an upgrade over the bums at that position on their roster. I don't know if he'll succeed, but I do know I'd prefer to line up against Kellen Clemens if given the choice.
  14. Mel is paid to give his opinions, and then everyone hates him when he does. Hey Mort: if you don't want the answer, don't ask the question.
  15. Uhhh....Walker did...
  16. This is just my opinion, but I don't think Youboty is an NFL corner. He played great last year until he got injured, but he can't seem to stay healthy. He seems like a journeyman to me who ends up making a few plays over his career as the nickel or dime guy, but I don't think he supplants McGee. Reggie Corner might. Running the Tampa 2 means your corners are expendable, and the man-love for McGee is a bit much at times (as it was for Greer). I don't know a thing about the two CB's we drafted at the end of the draft, but I wouldn't be all that shocked if they worked their way into the rotation by 2010.
  17. Somebody thank Josh McDaniels for taking some unknown scrub TE five rounds too early...
  18. That remains to be seen. But I think everyone getting worked up over this is being silly. I was confused by the Byrd pick until I learned he'd play FS. I don't know the guy, but if he's the real deal it's a great pick. We're admitting we reached on Whitner and that he's better suited to play SS, even if he was a #8 overall pick. And there is 0% chance of re-signing McGee at the end of this year. Same goes for Florence. Personally, I love the idea of drafting a year or two ahead of time. That's how you stabilize your franchise.
  19. What's an "anniversay"?
  20. Because Butler is kicking out to tackle. It's more or less official at this point. Hangartner will start.
  21. Tim, you could have helped us out with that one. Did you see all the GM's on this board with their Scheffler trade proposals?? At least 1 in 4 had actually seen him play, too!
  22. You must be new around here.
  23. They should extend the draft for this reason. I have no idea why it's down to seven rounds. Put it back up to 10, really make Mel and Todd suffer.
