  1. My God, the endless unwarranted optimism about a fifth round OLB with zero recorded stats is incredible...
  2. I think you need to get out more...
  3. Really? It was that funny? Hmmm. I think you need to hit a comedy club or something. Maybe listen to a Denis Leary album. I must have missed it. I mean, I'm obviously in love...I don't understand what the joke is...
  4. This is the worst article/blog I've ever read in my life: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/sully_on_spor...-the-draft.html
  5. I hope you're right. I preferred Orakpo because, even though he has a lower ceiling, he has a much higher floor. I can see him getting 8 sacks a season for the next 12 years. Maybin seems like a guy that will have three his first year or two and then either boom to fifteen or bust out of the league. And Orakpo, at his size, seems to be better against the run. But it's all speculation anyhow.
  6. Winfield was a liability in coverage. Not his fault he was 5'8", but good luck going up against 6'4"+ WR's.
  7. ...even though he only had sacks in two games last year???
  8. I think I'm going to become a fan of some obscure German soccer team...
  9. The Bears should shut their mouths. This isn't something to be proud of. I saw Mitchell's "highlights" on Youtube. It was terrible. It was just him jacking people up, not making plays.
  10. You realize Maybin has never played a football game at a weight of over 234 lbs., right??
  11. You guys are absurdly optimistic about a fifth round draft pick who literally did nothing his rookie year. I mean, it's one thing to be "high" on D. Bell as potentially getting in the mix with the other 11 linemen we have, a guy that has been a personal project at a position we've developed before. It's another thing altogether to assume a very lowly-touted LB is going to step in and play OLB after not recording a single statistic his rookie season. I just don't see it. Furthermore, everyone on this board rails on Ellison for being so small - well, he outweighs Bowen by six lbs.
  12. pssst....sarcasm....
  13. Travis LaBoy #55 DE 2008 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc. Grade: 68 | Key Alert: None Comment: LaBoy is a five-year veteran who was drafted by the Titans in the second round of the 2004 draft. He is a little undersized for the position and gets in trouble when he has to play the run, especially when he is at the point of attack. He lacks bulk and mass to hold his ground and tends to play a little tall when warding off and trying to diagnose. He lacks the upper-body strength to control and shed blockers and can get engulfed by big offensive tackles. He has a tendency to play out of control and can whiff in space when trying to tackle. As a pass rusher he can be explosive off the ball and has started to develop some counter moves to go with his speed. He can burst off the block to pressure the quarterback once he gets free and has the speed to chase things down from behind. He has become pretty one-dimensional in his play and would really struggle if asked to play both the run as well as rush the passer. 14. Maybin is closer to Donte Whitner than Bruce Smith size-wise...
  15. Seriously? That's your reason for not bringing in Favre, Sage...Rosenfels??? No, unfortunately... So if Trent goes down week 8 you'd rather bring in a guy known for throwing interceptions in the clutch and having zero knowledge of our playbook rather than a brilliant (literally) veteran like Fitzy who can manage the game? Not even close. I think too many people here play too much Madden.
  16. It's just so obvious when you watch shows like NFL Live (or God forbid...Around the Horn - the *worst* sports show on television) that the national news never pays attention to Buffalo. All these generic comments and characterizations that were patently false.
  17. Is this one about Chris Mortensen's kid too??
  18. You're kidding, right?? First of all, he'd have to lose like 40+. He's listed at 6'6" 365. Second of all, you want a guy to lose 30-40 lbs. to switch to an unnatural position rather than plug in a guy who played LT in college like a Butler or a Bell (assuming he can bench more than 9) or a FA acquisition? Again, Walker is no more than a stop-gap.
  19. I was all for letting Peters go and I think it was the right decision. That being said, Walker is no more than a stop-gap at LT. At least Butler played LT in college and has the prototypical height and weight to do it. Between Walker, Bell, and the potential signing of a Levi Jones or otherwise, I think it would be smart to keep Walker at RT if at all possible. And yeah, that doesn't make any sense at all. In the 3-4, our OT's take on speedy rush LB's all the time (Porter, A. Thomas, C. Pace).
  20. Mark Schlereth called Peters "an absolute mauler" on NFL live today. Did he ever watch him play?? Even in '07 Peters wasn't "mauling" anybody.
  21. They won't cut a 3rd round pick one year removed from the draft. (Please spare me the Maurice Clarett comparisons it's extremely rare.) Copeland Bryan - whomever that is - almost certainly gets the axe.
  22. I actually thought he was kidding, too. I was more than a little ashamed when I actually laughed out loud, too...
  23. http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/video?id=4104630 Sorry if this has been posted (I didn't see it on TSW's first page). But McShay is very high on our draft. FWIW, Skip Bayless (a total !@#$ing moron) said Orapko was the best player in the draft (which is a little far, IMO) and the Lions should have considered taking him #1 overall: http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4107646
  24. But...but they change the buttons around every few years! Now open your wallets...
