  1. 1) Agreed on Levitre. Although it's not saying much, he's our best lineman right now. 2) Agreed. Why not have Lankster back there? Parrish wasn't doing anything on kicks, so I don't mind not having him back there anymore, and I don't like having our starting CB (McKelvin) back there (when healthy of course). 4) I like Fitz but he's inconsistent. I don't think he's starting material, personally. I'm curious as to what will happen next year though. I'm sure we're going to draft a QB, be it the first, second, or even third round. Do we carry four QB's? Brohm was brought in as a project, Edwards is signed through 2010 and likely won't be cut outright, Fitz has earned a spot on the team next year. 5) Agreed. I'd love to see T.O. re-signed for one more year, although I doubt it will happen. It's up to the coaching staff and front office to see how ready Hardy/Johnson are to be the #2 WR on this team to then see how seriously they will pursue re-signing Owens. 6) Poz isn't getting the credit on that play, I'm sorry. Ricky Williams just made an awful throw. The Dolphins missed Ronnie Brown on that play more than any other. 8) Agreed! I have to admit I was against it. I didn't have faith in Lindell there, but sitting at the Ralph and being a former kicker (sue me) that was pretty exciting. 9) McKelvin. He's younger, he can return kicks/punts, and Florence was exposed in Jacksonville. I'm glad the way Florence played, but don't push it. 10) Too early to tell. He didn't screw up the clock this game like he did the last game. He used his timeouts correctly at the end of the first half. That's a biggie to me. I think if he wins out he wins the job, but that's going to be very difficult to do. 12) Amen to that. Nobody wants a top-five pick anyhow. Too expensive. One more thing I'd like to add, is that I thought our line played pretty well today, all things considered. Kendall Simmons looked awful, but the tackles played much better than I expected. Dealing with Porter and Taylor are no simple tasks. I think I heard that Jonathan Scott gave up 2.5 sacks at LT. Certainly not a great performance, but didn't Peters give up multiple sacks last year to Joey Porter, and then leave the game early? Not to make this a Peters thread, but rather that Scott's decent showing against a guy who had over 17 sacks last season might have earned himself a spot as a swing-man on this squad next season. He's young (26) and could certainly improve. I remember watching him on a few plays handle Porter and found myself somewhat impressed.
  2. Yeah, but Freddie is 28, Marshawn is 22. Like it or not, Marshawn is the future.
  3. Arkansas runs the spread, no? Avoid spread offense QB's like poison. Maybe a second-day flier, but look at guys like Alex Smith and Vince Young. It just doesn't translate to the pro game at the QB position.
  4. PTR's right. He was certainly no "slam dunk." In my opinion, the whole Texas thing is/was completely overblown (for every Mike Williams there's a Roy Williams; for every Vince Young there's a Nate Vasher), and his numbers suggested that if he did take plays off it wasn't many of them (not nearly as many as, say, Alan Branch from Michigan a few years prior). I wanted Orakpo at #11, it's been well-documented, but there's no such thing as a "slam dunk" in the NFL draft. I don't think he'd have 6.5 sacks for us like he does playing with Carter and Haynesworth in Washington, but he'd certainly be far and away out-producing Aaron Maybin.
  5. Just delete this entire thread...and his account. It's obviously false.
  6. Wait, what? The Bills are going to fold? Please, just stop talking. And if it's not a winning team? I think you just answered your own question. NFL teams sell out their stadiums, good or bad. Or at least they come close. Otherwise, they look to relocate. There is a serious lack of interest in Toronto for the product they would be receiving. What a crock of !@#$ing bull ****. Why not just be honest and say "it because we want all your !@#$ing money." Eh, I've been actively avoiding the Bills this season anyhow. It'll be a little difficult when I'm at the Ralph tomorrow though...
  7. For a robot, you're generally pretty well-informed and level-headed. But there wasn't a single person that I can remember who said Maybin was "can't miss." In fact, he was pretty much labeled as the "hit or miss"/"high risk/high reward" player of the first round, if I recall. I'm still on record for wanting to draft Orakpo at #11. I wasn't crazy about Oher having a learning disability. I love him as a kid and I hope for the best, but I'm not going to pretend this was the guy I wanted at #11.
  8. Actually, that was pretty hilarious. !@#$ THAT. Gabriel's Gate.
  9. You could have made this post a lot shorter by just saying "we should play our young guys." Besides, is there any reason whatsoever to think Maybin can play LB besides the fact that he's simply too small to play DE (which, of course, is why we shouldn't have drafted him in the first place)??
  10. If the Bills hire Haslett or Schottenheimer you shouldn't be happy at ALL.
  11. I'm thankful the season is almost over...
  12. "There will be times when the Bills use only two safeties. It's hard to image Whitner might not being one of them, but he's prepared to do what is asked of him." Well said, Al. You write for living??
  13. You just wasted your first post bashing Jim Kelly? Well done, sir. While I wholeheartedly disagree with the drafting of Tim Tebow, I agree with Kelly's assessment otherwise. We need to move on at QB. Edwards has one more year under contract. He can compete next year just like Drew Brees did in San Diego. If he turns it around, super. But we have to assume he will not and move on. And Jim only speaks up because there is no real management in Buffalo. He's just saying what everyone is afraid to say, including mister COO Russ Brandon.
  14. Not if your local bar has a dish it wouldn't be. Although the last time I was up for a game, it was the 4:00pm Saints game and I noticed the two bars down the street from the Ralph didn't have dishes, so I don't know what's up with that. What kind of sports bar doesn't have a satellite dish??? Plus, that other guy is right (I think). If it's on the NFL Network I'm not sure that they can black it out.
  15. I saw your love of Losman in the last UFL thread and ignored it. At this point I would just advise you to stop doing drugs.
  16. You guys realize that the defense is extremely limited in their playcalling, right? Certain blitzes and coverages aren't allowed, making it that much easier for the QB. Losman always had a cannon; reading defenses - in addition to being inaccurate and erratic - was his problem.
  17. That was the worst shovel pass I've ever seen.
  18. Your opinions over the last week have been documented, so I hope nobody is putting too much faith in your opinions (which I doubt is the case anyway). Vick was not all that good before prison. Have you even watched him in Philly? Given, they haven't given him many opportunities, but when given the chance he's done nothing. He'd be a good backup since if the starter got hurt, he'd be a total change of pace. But we need a franchise QB and that's not Vick. If he's brought in to be a backup/wildcat QB, fine, but I wouldn't go crazy chasing the guy. And I agree with the poster who's fed up of reading/responding to this. Watch Vick play before you make another post on it, please.
  19. Sorry guys, I'm rooting for a blackout this time. Big time. If we prove Toronto isn't a viable market for an NFL franchise and Los Angeles gets the Jags, Chargers, or Raiders, the chances of the Bills staying in Buffalo improves dramatically. Looks like you'll have to go to the local bar to see the game...if it's even worth watching, that is.
  20. The sad thing is, I'd take this bizarro halftime action over the NFTA bus race they do at the Ralph...
  21. then, when you think it can't get any worse...
  22. LOL you literally just beat me to it
  23. Vince Young is horrible. He's thrown three TD's in six games this year (started four). Over the course of his career he's thrown 25 TD's and 34 INT's and a career completion record of less than 58%. Without Chris Johnson the Titans would be going nowhere. When he plays a legitimate defense like Pitt he'll be exposed.
  24. haha, that's an awesome double meaning... Wait, when was the last time the Padres sold out??
  25. Yes, way to be a dick about it. Are you telling me you're not concerned that his defense was 28th and 30th in points the last two seasons??
