Kenny Pickett being traded to Eagles (according to Schefter)
Mr. WEO replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pickett was a guy like Penix...... -
His agent puts Cousins's to shame

the narrative was not mine, and I quoted it for you. it's quite a list....in fact (and obviously) it describes a perfect WR, which may not exist.
-
come on...how much effort did you put into this take? #'s drop? He had essentially the same targets he has had every year with the Bills. A big chunk of his yards came in the first 6 weeks. Then, despite tons of targets the resto f the season, he couldn't produce. Josh's fault for the drops? that's pretty funny.

"big WR who can block, get deep, win contested throws, catch the ball in clutch moments, and block downfield" you first listed a bunch of WR1s (except Higgins, Watson...). A fraction of those guys might do everything/fit all criteria on the poster's wish list. a good number of them aren't over 6 feet tall, for starters. The second group has several depth guys. less likely to check all those boxes

see above lol everyone wants that. How many teams have it?
-
OK so MVS is not a good weapon--solidifies my point (Mahomes hasn't been lavished with weapons in KC) Hardman was a solid pick while he was in KC.
-
Hill was on the team a year before Mahomes was drafted--and two years before he was starter. MVS has been a decent WR2/3. JuJu had a cup of coffee in KC. As for the drafted guys--KC hits on their WR drafts pretty well. But Mahomes made those 2 guys.

no way. Samuel wasn't even the BPA on his crappy Washington team. Get someone better and younger under a rookie contract.

The Bills will be better in 2024 and everyone overreacted

the Davis takes over time, out of necessity (due to the hill his detractors insisted on dying on), grew consistently more "out there". Pretty much all they had at the end was "but, but....catch%!!!" -
Knox will still provide that entertainment.

What context do you want? Davis put up that type of play for 3 of his 4 years. You think a rookie will immediately replace that? Shakir still hasn't. He might be, but he hasn't been yet. You simply tossed out "Shakir is already better"....no context. -
lol, he absolutely is.

That was almost all in 1 game. otherwise it was 3 games with 2, 4 and 9 yards. I will agree that he did "ok" in cleanup. But there was little to see as far as vision and burst go. Done a lot worse at RB#? Not recently. Moss as #3 last year before he was traded 5 games in was averaging more YPC. In 2021, Breida had better numbers in 9 games than Johnson did in 10. In 2019 Yeldon had more yards from scrimmage in 6 games than Ty just had. Marcus Murphy in 2018........ Not lately. And after his 600 yards year it has been a steady decline. McD/Dorsey/Brady didn't think he was worth the touches last season, obviously.

yes, every other GM covets Beane's day 3 picks.....moving up to #4!!!
-
A lot of people are repeating this. He had one appearance of notice (Dallas, 54 yards on 9 carries) running the ball. The rest of his games were 0, 0, 2, 11, 19, 19, 22 and 5 yards. What burst and vision are you referring to? He had so few touches, how was he 1/2 punch?
-
Perhaps Williams is that missing piece to put them over the top.

If they draft a rookie WR who will have 7 TDs and 750-800 and 1st downs on 75% of his catches that would be great. But Davis was the best WR Beane has drafted. -
Kirk Cousins gets 4 years, $180M from Falcons
Mr. WEO replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cousins was O'Connell's best chance to last another year or 2 as Vikings HC. -
he would have to beat out Rico Dowdle. His history confirms that would not be possible.

I was mainly responding to the claim that this guy could be a RB! on other teams, which is absurd. As a (previous) RB on bad running teams, he couldn't get past bad RB2's. As the Bills R3, he's a warm body for a few touches a game. Singletary and Moss were mentioned in a different context.
-
Ask McD and Brady. They rarely used Johnson--even as a Breather for Cook (going with Murray instead). Or ask the Jets--they dumped him the season before (at a whopping 5.3 YPC!!). Or Detroit.... Johnson's yards per carry are from samples sizes so small that they are mostly meaningless. The fact that he averaged 22 inches more per carry than Murray doesn't move the needle. Clearly it didn't warrant more touches, and it hasn't throughout his career. This guy has been on a few bad RB rosters---and he still couldn't separate himself from the pack in the RB room. I get it--he's a cheap guy to send in for 3 plays a game to give Cook a rest. That's all he's ever been.
-
lol name 1 he's on his 3rd team in 5 seasons and has never had 275 yards rushing. In Detroit, he couldn't beat out Bo Scarborough for the RB@. In NYJ, he couldn't beat out Tevin Coleman or Zonovan Knight---and those were bad rushing Offenses, the bar was low.
-
It really wasn't much: 132 yards rushing and 88 receiving. Wouldn't it have been better to spread those touches (3-4 per game for Johnson) amongst Murray and Cook? Bills drafted Singletary and Moss and ultimately let them go because they didn't want to pay them second contract money down the road for what they were getting (the Bills got Hines for Moss--oof). They replaced these two, ultimately, with Murray and Johnson--the former an ancient journeyman, the latter a career journeyman scrub.
