why does he keep hiring bad ST coordinators? Anyway, Ciano was Strength coach of the year in 2020. This season, the Bills had the least money locked up in guys on IR or PUP in the NFL> Did this guy just forget how to condition Bills players? Guys get injured, some make it all the way back, some don't. Most of that falls on the player, not the guy who trains him. The Lions had far more devastating injuries than the Bills (Lions had the highest points missed per game due to guys on IR or PUP---the Bills hd the least). Did the Lions fire their S and C Coach? It's not clear how McD thinks the next guy will be better at this. There seems to be a thought process that leads to the believe that the next guy will have some magic that no other NFL team's staff has or methods no one else knows, because all serious NFL injuries should now result complete or near complete recovery in all cases......

Neilson coached the worst passing Defense in the NFL last season. Anyway, position coaches (and "senior assistants") don't make the defensive backfield better. They need starter upgrades all around--currently they have one legit starting level DB on the roster at this point. Is the guy from NE bringing Christian Gonzalez with him? It seems an annual event: each year end (playoff loss) presser, McBeane tells us what they're going to do differently next year...and fire a coordinator.
