we heard the same thing last time---Vince McMahon has tons of money to float the XFL reboot. COVID put that mess out of it's misery. Fox is flush with cash so it's put in a minority stake in this reboot of the USFL round and round it goes, all always arriving at the same place--junk heap.

Plus, the 2 are light years apart in where they were as QB's coming into the NFL. Plus, Manning was an immobile pocket QB smarter than most QBs and Fields, a modern dual threat QB, is like no QB Caldwell has ever coached.

A 1 year savings of 2-3 million isn't going to sweeten the pot for a significant FA signing, nor would it go far in re-signing a current roster player for multi-years.
